The Eldritch Interval: A Q&A for the Elder Gods (VAs and Artists wanted)

Project Overview

Synopsis:

The 'Eldritch Interval' is a personal project made for the purpose of providing a entertaining take on the Elder God made by H.P Lovecraft and others. It takes place in modern day but not within in the real world. This mainly takes place in varying locations from the Cthulhu mythos, with certain locations becoming more dominant in certain arcs.

More roles will be added soon.

(Also Accents are not required. Just do what you think fits.)

Requirements:

  1.  1: First and foremost be willing to work long term with no pay. If this does get popular enough to get payment, I.E Via A Patreon or other support method, but do not expect this. This is a project for fun, not for profit.

  3. 2: Have decent-ish mic quality. (E.G. little background noise, little popping, ect.)

  5. 3: Be able to hand in work on deadlines. The deadlines will be lose to begin with but once I have a upload plan then deadlines will be more reinforced.

  7. 4: Don't be afraid to have fun and mess around. Though at times things may get a little bit serious don't be afraid to enjoy yourselves and just have a good time.

  9. *: Having a discord account or making one would make communication better but is not needed.

Yog-Sothoth is the current overseer of the eternal library. He has a little problem with alcohol, mainly liquor, and can often be bribed to do small tasks for said beverages, though it takes a lot for him to become drunk.

He has a deep voice and often is well spoken.

Azathoth is the creator of all and for a long time has been said to have been resting. This is a lie. He has just been on a very large hiatus. But, he’s back now and can’t really find anything to do anymore so just spends most of his time floating around and spending time with Pandora, his heir. 

His voice should mainly be fairly dulled with the capability to become really energetic if provided something interesting.

Cthulhu is one of the more lazy and recognisable of the Elder Gods. Despite this though, in recent times his power has been on the decline, forcing him to try and obtain more followers and cultists. This often ends up in lucrative schemes to try and avoid large scale work, most of which however, only resolving in a small hand full of people actually feeding into his power.

His voice is deep and booming, demanding attention, with a sense of being a bigger deal than he actually is.

  • (Grandly) I am the great all mighty Cthulhu! The leveller of planets, destroyer of worlds and master over R'lyeh. Hear my name and bow before me.

  • (Defeated / a bit timidly) Well you don't have to rub it in. I'm getting better.

Shub-Niggurath,

Shub-Niggurath is the elder god of beauty and life. She is one of the most laid back and, in the eyes of the others, one of the most annoying. She has one of the more vast cults, often allowing anyone to join no matter what.

Her voice should emphasise her position over most of the other Gods. It should show higher class and be middle range.

  • (Composed) I am Shub-Niggurath, the Goddess of life and beauty.  You may know of my cult and your more than welcome to join.

Nyarlathotep is the Elder God of trade and business. She is one of the few Gods that can interact fully with the mortal realm, however not with her full powers. Her cult mainly consists of salesmen, most consisting of door to door salesmen. She is a slight Tom boy.

Her voice should be fairly mid range and be similar to that of a door to door salesmen.

The Broken God

The Broken God is an enigma to most of the others fading away into obscurity many a millennia ago. They is only remembered well by Azathoth and Yog-sothoth and has little to no power at current time. They are known for being the God without a soul.

There voice should be soft but dulled from ages alone.

Yig is pretty much the Elder God of discovery. He is the embodiment of expeditions and is still discovering new items predating the Elder Gods themselves! He is often adventuring in ancient and extravagant locations, but in his down time he often spends it in his study perusing his collection and planning his next move. Unlike the others, he doesn’t have to worry too much about a cult as his power main is drawn from the spirit of adventure.

His voice should be similar to that of a cliche Victorian expoditionist, the ones with the grey beards and the tendency to say ‘pip, pip’ after every single sentence, and have a slightly nasally voice and slightly hold on to the hard Ss in his word.

He won’t be appearing early on in the series but will have a major role to play in the future of our cast.

  • (Energetically) Pip, pip my fine fellows! I am Yig the serpentine God and I will be accompanying you on this expedition of mine. Join me in my tent after this so that we can chart our course!

  • (Shocked) My word, that's... that's impossible! Yet, it is here all the same.

Palid is Hastur’s left hand man. He does odd jobs for him and acts as the mayor of the capital of Carcosa. He often exaggerates in his lines and encompasses the drama of the yellow court.

He often demands attention, his voice often booming and roaring. A good reference would be the actors from the third season of black adder (see link).

Grimace is Azathoth’s right hand man. He is fanatical to his God and nothing can change this. He has a serious personality but is often shows a more softer side when dealing with the cults. When he is with some of the other highers main cultists of this series he often can be found arguing with them about who is better.

His voice should be deep with a slight amount of grandness in his voice. He often speaks in a monotone voice, taking a softer tone when speaking to other members of the cult of Azathoth.

Angel is the personal secretary to Yog-Sothoth and as such is held in high regard in his cult. She is one of the more calmer of the high cultists. She often spends most of her time making sure Yog does not A) Become drunk, or B) Disappear. She often treats Yog as a type of brother and tries to keep him out of harm's way, even though he is plenty times more powerful than her.

She should sound fairly calm and speaks with a mid range soft voice.

Haily (or just Hail for short) is the heir to the yellow courts on the off chance that Hastur somehow winds up dead or senile. She is kind hearted and energetic but can turn a bit sinister if the scenario calls for it.

Victor is Yog-sothoth’s heir. Victor is generally quiet and often has his head in a book. He tends to only speak when spoken to and is fairly timid. Unlike most of the other heirs, he has access to high end arcane magic, resulting in to if he where to get into a fight he would win nine times out of ten.

His voice should be moderately high range, timid, and have a slight stutters, though not having it too prominent.

Pandora is the Heir to Azathoth’s legacy. She really is only the heir out of courtesy though as Azz is the least likely to actually fall under any of the pretences of needing to pass on his lineage. Nevertheless, she has grown into a good father daughter relationship over the past couple of years.

Barion is the heir to Nyarlathotep’s empire. He has excelled in Nyar’s art of persuasion but prefers trickery and sly deals to get through his trades. He more often deals in curses and soul contracts in order to grow in his own strength and just to cause general anarchy. He is one of the more chaotic of the Heirs. Him and Ruby are often found scheming with each other as to what to do next. He actually has a crush on her but hell will freeze over before he actually confesses (He can hide it really well though).

Daliard is the heir to R’lyeh and the Heir to Cthulhu. He is often calm, in comparison to his comparison to Cuth’s more erratic nature, and often finds a more simpler solution to most problems. Whereas Cthulhu often comes up with weird and bizarre ideas he often takes a more straightforward, simpler, approach to most of, if not all, the problems he’s faced with.

His voice should be mid range and emphasise his calm and collective nature.

Ruby is the heir to Shub-Niggurath. She is one of the more hands on in gathering of cults out of the heirs and as such, has a bit of divine eldritch power of her own, though not so much that she is actually a threat to the other Gods. She one of the more cunning of the heirs and as off such is one of the more tricky to deal with. She spends most of her time conspiring with Barion and also has a crush on him, but she will be damned before she tells anyone.

Her voice should be mid range with an air of confidence and welcoming cunning to it.
