The Dawngate Chronicles - Part 2

Project Overview

On behalf of Studio Meraki, I'm ecstatic to open casting for the next section of "The Dawngate Chronicles!"

Dawngate was a MoBA conceived early in 2011, coming into the hands of players in 2012 under a closed beta. With a unique focus on character interaction and story, the developers at Waystone Games decided to publish a comic coinciding with the game, a 'living lore' which would progress in 'real time' alongside the release schedule post-prologue. Illustrated by Nicholas Kole and written by the Waystone team, "The Dawngate Chronicles" began an epic tale cut short by unfortunate circumstance. 

Running approximately 90 pages and hosting a fantastic world of spirits, monsters, and talking Otters, the aim is to bring the story to life in the manner it deserves. Studio Meraki, an indie studio focusing on publishing original and existing content, will be dubbing what exists of this comic.

Presented above is the first entry into the series.

All characters with voice references will have them posted alongside their respective auditions.

Wise, kind, and soulful; The Shaper of Protection shows that he holds no fear when it comes to guarding the young and the meek.
With a good understanding of life and an old soul to match, Kel sees the beauty of the Spirits and the kinship with man it holds.

  • "Every year, wolves come down from the north. They grow up big there." (In-character narration; reflecting on the encroaching pack.)

  • "Can't say as I mind you here. But you sure you want me?" (Understanding, unafraid; holding back his awe to respect the wishes of that which approaches him.)

Honest, caring, and free-spirited, The Shaper of Pursuit finds joy in the exploration of the world and the adventure lying beyond; though the events leading to this were less than fortunate.

Armed her boomerangs and her Birraga (read: Giant, magical boomerang), Nissa does not know exactly where she's headed, only that she's moving quickly.

  • "Ush valli..." (Amazement as an ancient and immortal being not seen for hundreds of years flies next to her in her time of need.)

  • "My Chief? The Altai is dead. But to save a life... I shaped."

Bubbly, inspired, and a free spirit; The Shaper of Vibrance is a talented artist and understudy within the southern region of the world!

While respecting and knowing the teachings of her peers well, Zeri is famously rebellious and aggravating. But, contrast to her excitable nature, she's a pure heart, and probably deserves a hug.

  • Laughter. Snorting laughter. Uncontrollable, unintentional laughter.

  • "-Oh, Spirits, yes. I desperately need a mooncake. A mooncake could save my life." (Suddenly cheery, excited haste, COMPLETE focus on acquisition of tasty treat.)

  • "Star light, Star Bright... what the heck's that big blue light?" (Musing to self until a "shooting star" passes over the night sky.)

Calm. Collected. Orderly and logical. All great qualities, if they weren't on the man simply referred to as "The Desecrator" for his atrocious, unfathomable, incomprehensible crimes against the noble family of the west. Sentenced to die for his abominable experiments, The Desecrator knows little but that death is certain...

And that he has so much left to learn... Death would be inconvenient, come to think of it....
