My name is Renara Hawke, and I am looking for enthusiastic and passionate people to help me with a voice-acting project over on YouTube. I'm producing an Audiodrama of the award-winning Throne of Glass series, to not only brining it to a wider audience but also to make these stories more accessible for those who may not be able to afford premium services.
I am starting with The Assassin's Blade. This is the Prequel to the Throne of Glass and is a collection of Novellas.
Now because of the nature of this project, I will be auditioning on a Novella by Novella basis, and then later on with the bigger books, Chapter by Chapter basis, so there will be more roles available in the future.
I have already completed the first two Novella's: The Assassin and the Pirate Lord (Original), and The Assassin and the Healer, and we are actively working on The Assassin and the Desert, all of which you can check out at the link below:

Auditions info:
. This is NOT a paid project, I cannot afford to pay anything at this stage so I hope you can understand.
. 2-3 takes of each line will suffice, I like to see variety in an audition as It helps me get a good idea of an actor’s range.
. No more the 3 takes of each line, please.
. There is no limit on how many roles you wish to apply for, I welcome people auditioning for multiple roles.
. If cast the turnaround time for lines-in will be very quick (1 week) and you will need to be contactable for retakes, additional foley and sound effects as each chapter is released, please make sure you are aware and can commit to this long-term.
Rules:
1.) XLR/good quality microphone and set up please OR have access to a studio or external recording centre.
2.) No background noise, peaking or artifacts! All audio must be clear and understandable.
3.) If you are given a returning character (RC), this means you will be asked to come back for later parts of the project, this may be weeks, months, or years apart depending on how this project develops.
Please make sure you understand this when you are auditioning, and that you will be just as enthusiastic as you were when you first joined.
4.) You MUST have Discord, if you are successful in your audition I will be adding you to the project server where finer details about the project and characters will be discussed.

5.) To ensure trust and security upfront, each VA will have individual agreements, with myself, signed to safeguard their voice against being used for AI and Ai voice training. Together we can fight against Ai erasing VA as a career!

Hey all!!
Due to PC issues and the Launch of Fallout London (of which I voice in) I have decided to extend the deadline a couple of weeks to give me breathing space.
I want to be able to jump in on this as soon as I cast people and it would not be fair on you all if I left it as is.
Enjoy the extra time! And if people would like to resubmit auditions with updated setups or new direction, please feel free to do so!
Described as almost feline, Lysandra is the best courtesan in Adarlan, so much so that the king of the assassins personally invested in her rise from street orphan to “the most anticipated courtesan in Rifthold History”. She is excellent in her trade and understands human nature to the nth degree, she is sultry sweet almost 90% of the time however this is a facade, this is her courtesan character, at her core, she is one of many victims of the fall of magic in Erilea, (Spoilers! Will inform whoever’s cast) She despises the position she has found herself in, she did not choose this life, she had to do whatever she could to survive in a world that despises her in return, only giving her any though for what she can provide… physically.
At this point in the story, she and Celaena are childhood enemies, vying for whatever power they can each claw in a world not meant for them.
Lysandra's voice is mid-high range and speaks with a BRITSH/ENGLISH accent and is confident, decadent and wilful.
Her speech is impeccably clear but not overly RP, and she does not need to “Put out” to gain the attention she needs, though this doesn't mean she doesn't overdo it sometimes.
Her vocal range is mostly mid but will require a lot of dynamic range through the series as she grows and develops.
IMPORTANT: Lysandra is a pivotal character throughout the series and has her shining moments in the 4th, 5th and 7th books so whoever is cast will need to stay on the project for prospective years. I will not be wanting to recast her so please; ensure you can commit long term when you apply.
(She is also one my favorite characters x3)
IMPORTANT: Please know, that there are NO scenes in which a VA would be required to produce NSFW content, while her being a courtesan is her background and while it is a part of who she is, this audio drama is completely SFW. She does find love and enters into a lovely relationship with a character FAR later in the books, but to my knowledge, no NSFW scenes are explicitly described in the books. If there is a scene that is more spicy later on in the series that I've forgotten about, I will likely edit parts to make it more SFW.

(Leaned in, speaking quietly in a theatre, mockingly) – “Celaena, I didn’t know you had a shred of human emotion in you, and I didn’t think the performance was THAT good.”
*A terrified set of screams after Celaena just threw a dagger at you that nearly pierced your head*
Dorian is the crown prince of Rifthold and heir to the throne, an older brother and a shrood diplomate. Currently at this point in the story, he is a gentle and free-spirited individual with a vein heartbreaker streek. He is something of a flirt, but is very compassionate and bright, of which shines through very clearly. He is extremely intelligent and values that in others as well as those he can trust and those with free spirits. He hates the life of the court and craves excitement, which is where he meets our resident assassin.
Dorian will not hesitate to reveal a harsh, ruthless side to anyone who threatens him or attempts to make any risky moves on him, no matter how gentle and free-spirited he may be. He's also the type of person who won't put up with other people's troubles if it hurts him or others. As a result, a lot of the time Dorian puts people in their place anytime he has to.
Dorian speaks with a BRITSH/ ENGLISH accent and is, noble, restless, and speaks with a clear kindness that seeps through even when he tries to hide it. His voice is bright but strong, as befitting the perspective ruler of a tyrannical kingdom that has conquered most of Erilea.
IMPORTANT: Dorian has very little lines in TAATU however he is pivotal through ALL 7 books of the main storyline, so whoever is cast will need to stay on the project for prospective years. I will not be wanting to recast him so please; ensure you can commit long term when you apply.

(Sincere, disapproving, intimately said with a hint of disgust) – “War is sanctioned murder, no matter what side you're on.”
(Suave, cool, flirtatious ) - “Then let me call you Mine for a dance or two.”
(Protective, authoritative, putting the questioner in their place) – “As for Celaena, you do not have the right to wish she were not what she is. The only thing you have a right to do is decide whether you are her enemy or her friend.”
A powerful businessman from Melisande and Lady Bardingales ex-husband. The current picture being painted of Donevel is that he is nasty piece of work. The running narrative perpetuated by Arobynn is that his ex-wife got a lot of his money and status from him in the divorce, gaining a place in the royal court, and so he is embittered against her and is hell-bent on screwing his ex-wife over. And that he wants to open a slave trade, should the road construction agreement for Melisande get the green light from the king.
THIS IS NOT TRUE – While he enjoys the company of women and is not shy about that in the slightest, he is the furthest thing from embittered and most certainly is opposed to slavery. Doneval has a kinder side to him, as he risked his life to help set up a system of safe houses for runaway slaves and is very loyal to his country.
His accent is up for interpretation, however, it is NOT American, and it is NOT so heavy as to not understand the English being spoken. He is described as tall and middle-aged, with pale blond hair and tan skin. He was not particularly handsome, but not an eyesore, either, and not heavy, but not toned.
Melisande is a country based on Africa.
(Charming, trying to woo a pretty girl) - "No no- I'd be happy to make the aquaintance. What was your name, dear girl?"
(Full of charm) - "It woulden't be impertinant in the least."
(Slightly gaurded but still charming) - "Im afraid my dinner is rather late- Id hate to make your uncle late for the theater."
Phillip along with the rest of Donevel's bodyguards heil from Melisande, he is loyal to Donevel and what he stands for.
His voice is described as “deep” and the accent is “Thick”.
Now his accent is up for interpretation, I would prefer a West African accent but I'd like to hear what others think come up with.

(With a smile, maliciously, slaping Celaena awake) – “I think that’s enough sleeping for now.”
(The interrogation begins, you are the interrogator.) – “There are a lot of rooms to break into this house, why’d you choose the upstairs study?”
(Cocky but still darkly said) – “A smart ass, I like it.”
As with any audio drama, there will be small roles up for grabs here there and everywhere, so for any who apply for named characters, I highly encourage you to also apply here as well, so I can hear everything you have to offer.
