INTRODUCTION
Hey, everyone! This is a casting call for Slightly Insulting's upcoming machinima fantasy series called The Alchemist. This project will take place in the 'Tales of Vileia' universe, a shared universe made by Valor Studios. We want to ensure we maintain the same high quality from previous projects, and it starts with casting voice actors.
If you are not cast for any of the roles, please do stick around as we got more exciting projects coming up in the future as well as possible additional casting calls for this same project.
AUDITIONS AND DEADLINES
Before you begin auditioning, it is worth noting that I will be contacting all voice actors through Discord DMs and inviting them into a cast Discord server. As usual, all cast members will be credited at the beginning and/or end of the film, so with your audition, please share your discord username in the format like this, e.g. AlchemistVA#1111 that way I will be able to send a friend request and begin work as early as possible.
The deadline for auditions is July 10th, 2022. At the moment, we are still in the process of writing and filming, although we will be casting before the finish of the pilot episode. We have decided to cast earlier than usual, as we want to frame our character's actions and body languages to match that of the performances given.
NOTE: For auditions, try your best with the 'fantasy'-esque pronunciations as they'll be corrected prior to final recording and after casting. Thank you.

Set in the fantasy world of Vileia, the series follows the story of a young alchemist, Jackson Lorrow and his best friend, Graeme Arlerte as they find themselves wrapped in two separate adventures to save their home, Regalia.

Jackson is a young ambitious Alchemist with an arrogant, egotistical attitude. Throughout the series however, he develops a certain leadership and resourcefulness that prove unique and helpful to the Regalian Resistance, despite his youthful age. His overreliance on alchemy is tested throughout the show, also revealing his intelligence and observance.
Jackson's voice should come across as a walking awkward ego, as he believes he knows more than most, but is still a somewhat reserved teenager.
Personality: Mature, Arrogant, Know-It-All, Intelligent...

Holy shit. I’ve been so panicked all day long I almost forgot- I- I think i’m a wanted man. I know they took Graeme but why- and where?! I have to get back and soon- Wait a second-
(Note: Graeme is pronounced Graham... like the cracker lmao)
Graeme is the best friend of Jackson who has been around since the two were children. He hides his misguidedness and lack of purpose in life behind smiles and goofiness. He admires and views Jackson as a brother and once separated, finds an identity for himself.
Graeme's voice should lean more on the comedic, yet natural side as he's the comic relief of the series.
Personality: Goofy, Immature, Heartful, Kind...

Rei hides her clouded past with her sarcastic, cold attitude. While she's caring at heart, the only reason she gets wrapped back into the conflict in Regalia is solely due to revenge.
Rei's voice should be intimidating when need but overall reflect her caring side, along with a hint of charisma and sarcasm.
Personality: Sarcastic, Fearless, Caring, Warrior
(snarkily)
Rescue is an exaggeration and it wasn’t exactly common courtesy. I thought you’d have something to pay me with. No food, gold... nothing. A Regalian City coat with empty pockets, that’s rare.

Premier Askelle is the central antagonist of the series, the leader of the Fifth Order, and the most charismatic force to be reckoned with. Throughout the series Askelle finds his goals come closer and closer to him, dramatically increasing his ego and confidence in battle.
Askelle's voice should be the perfect balance between intimidating and charismatic, as he carries his sick sense of humor with him out onto the battlefield, yet his voice makes his enemies tremble at the sound of hearing him speak.
Personality: Menacing yet Charismatic, Confident, Talkative, INTIMIDATING...
Well hello there Captain Shaia, I see you’ve returned from your extended vacation- OH, apologies I meant shadow operation. Have you returned with any information about the other crystals orr, are you here to waste more of my time?!
(MOCKING HER, SOMEWHAT)

Kite was an orphan from the Outer Rim of Regalia who later became Askelle's right hand companion after owing her life to him. Askelle trained her to be a weapon, obeying his every command in the conquest of the Fifth Order.
Kite's voice should show a hint of dead-pan as she is quiet, yet somewhat empty inside. She merely views herself as a weapon for Askelle and we rarely see her show heart through her words.
Personality: Quiet, Loyal, Determined,

When somebody... has someone to protect that's important to them... that's when they truly become strong.
Veil Krei is the captain of the Resistance, one of Regalia's strongest soldiers, and the most skilled swordsman next to Askelle himself. He is the squad captain of the Special Operations Squad within the Regalian Resistance and is loyal to the cause against the Fifth Order.
Note: Veil's personality and role is inspired from Captain Levi of the Attack on Titan series. We're looking for his voice to also be similar to the dub voice acting of Levi in the show (a hint of deadpan).
Personality: Empathetic, Loyal, Reserved, Observant...

Don't get me wrong... I could never live up to Yuuko. You stood for something the rest of us only aspire to.

Yuuko was one of the strongest, hot-headed members of the Resistance, so skilled but so stubborn to the point she she refused to join her friend, Captain Veil's Special Operation squad. In the Prologue, Yuuko risks her life to learn the plan of the Fifth Order and deliver them back to the Resistance of Regalia.
Due to Yuuko's low screentime, her voice is meant to leave an impression with the audience, showing her hilarity yet boundless heartfulness.
