Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IDW - Leonardo, Michelangelo, Shredder

Project Overview

Greetings voice actors!  I am the director of StarForce Media's comic dub of the IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and I'm here to recast a few starring roles: Leonardo, Michelangelo and the Shredder.

We've already completed an entire season which has been released via YouTube to much fan acclaim, but unfortunately a few members of our cast will not be able to continue the journey with us.  I am looking to recast those members with performers who will be able to stick with us through the end of our run (the series will last 4 more seasons).  The performers for all other major characters have completed their recordings for the entire series so although it is a lot of recording, it's been proven doable for those with the drive to get it done.  I am recasting VERY major parts here so if you don't possess that drive, please do not audition.

If cast, you will be given immediate access to the scripts for the ENTIRE series and you'll begin recording right away.  There will be reasonable deadlines you'll have to meet, so if you're not good with deadlines please do not audition.  Again, these are very major parts in my series so I am very interested in their development and will expect regular communication with you.  If you are not good with communication, please do not audition.  Your audio quality will very much be a determining factor in your odds of being cast, so please use your best microphone and a pop filter.  Poor recordings will not be considered.

All of that may sound a bit intimidating, but the rest of the cast and I have already poured countless hours into this project and we expect anyone joining us to hold themselves to high standards.  We want your very best, and if you prove that you can give it to us you will be entrusted with one of these major roles.
In the descriptions below I have included links so you can hear how our previous performers approached the roles.  Although I'd like voices with a similar feel to them, I do not expect full on imitations of what they did so please do not let that hinder your performance or creativity.  Keep the notes in mind, but let me hear your version of the character.  Include multiple versions if you'd like - I'm pretty open to actors' instinct and interpretation.

Leader of the TMNT. Leo is the most disciplined and level headed of his brothers. Leo should sound like a confident teenager, ready to take on any challenge. He is eventually brainwashed by the Shredder into a “dark” version of himself for a time, so he’ll sound more menacing during that time.

  • Give it a rest, Mikey. Master Splinter says finding Raphael is our main priority right now, so stop whining.

  • We might wanna beat the crap out of each other most days, but in the end, we have each other’s backs no matter what.

The youngest of the brothers. Mikey is your typical teenage boy who enjoys pizza, comics and video games. But although he sometimes seems adolescent, he is the most emotionally mature of the group, always concerned with the feelings of others and the underlying causes of their actions. Should sound playful but have the ability to also deliver sincere and emotional lines. Also bear in mind that we're not going the 'surfer' route with our Mikey.

  • (Surprised/Excited) Dudes, you totally fixed it! Oh, man, I can’t wait to take it for a spin!

  • (Bashful) Um.. Michelangelo, Miss.. uh, Princess, ma’am. And.. You’re, uh, totally welcome.

  •      (Frustrated) GUYS!! You ALL need to step off and chill out. We lost our dad, we lost our home, all our stuff. We got no food and all you dudes wanna do is fight each other. Well, that totally sucks.

The turtles arch nemesis and ruthless leader of the Foot Clan. Shredder’s history with Splinter and his sons spans centuries and his hatred for them is unmatched. Shredder’s ultimate goal is to subjugate mankind and rule the world. For Shredder's voice something cold, calculating and incredibly menacing is needed. Japanese accent is also preferred.
Although I don't expect full on imitation of our previous Shredder, I would like something of a similar feel given that we've already established the character. I believe our performer was using the original movie Shredder as a starting point for his interpretation.   • That is why the Foot will always be stronger than its enemies. Our family, our bond runs deeper than blood. It is forged in pain, sacrifice, and combat. Once tested, it is unbreakable.

  • As you can see, their pathetic resistance, too, has been crushed. This vision of utter defeat should serve as fair warning to any who would dare defy me in the future.

  • Ah, Yoshi… I see you remain as stubborn as ever. Such wasted energy. So be it, let us continue! (throws punch) Hyuh!!
