Tangled The Series: Queen For A Day Episode Full Fandub
Project Overview
The King and Queen leave Corona for a mountain retreat on their anniversary and place Rapunzel in charge of the kingdom. As a stand-in queen, Rapunzel must face some hard decisions where she must decide to either listen to her advisors or follow her heart. This 2-part episode was a part of a special midway through the series that doesn't give any spoilers if you haven't seen any other episodes. This offers more insight into Rapunzel's character as she assumes the role of Queen for the first time as well as provides more background for Varian, a young and passionate alchemist who seeks help after his father becomes trapped by one of his latest experiments gone wrong. Eugene provides a constant shoulder of support for Rapunzel through her trials and bravely goes to save the King and Queen when their trip outside Corona goes wrong.

Eugene Fitzherbert (better known as Flynn Rider) is charming, daring, and confident. Flynn is the definition of dashing, and he knows it. He can sometimes be a bit arrogant, but beneath it all he has a sensitive heart. Flynn is a swashbuckler known for his charm and quick-wit, he made a name for himself as a notorious thief. In a turn of events, Flynn experienced a change of heart upon falling in love with Rapunzel, the lost princess of Corona.
Eugene is voiced by Zachary Levi. Here is a reference of his original voice from the episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1FZ-h6SpGs
I'm not necessarily looking for an exact copy of the original (though I am certainly open to voices close in tone) and am open to all interpretations! However, I would primarily like a mid-range male voice (young adult, not too young sounding) with a slight bass-y quality and a warm tone able to express compassion.
(self-assured) "Since Rapunzel is pretty much the Queen for a couple of days, that makes me pretty much the king. I figured I'd start small. You know, take a dip in the royal pool, try on that furry cape-y thing, proclamate a...proclamating thing."
(comforting) "Hey, hey, relax. You've only gotta hang in there one more day. Your parents will be back soon!"
(determined) "We're going to get you out of there. Besides, you should know by now that Rapunzel doesn't need anyone to take care of her!"
Xavier is a local blacksmith for the Corona who works as a sage. He is very wise and unusually knowledgable. His knowledge of legends plays a vital role in protecting the Kingdom of Corona from supernatural threats.
He has a deep voice with an African accent, though I am open to other interpretations! Here is a short clip for a voice reference of the original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt42A0fNhhc
"Eons ago, an evil warlock, Xan Tiri (pronounced Zahn Tea-Ree) had a deep hatred for Corona. And cast a spell which caused a blizzard to sweep across the land. The storm destroyed everything in its path. All would have been lost had it not been for the ancient engineer and inventor, Lord Demanitus."
Quirin is Varian's strict but loving father. He is tough on Varian and doesn't like to put up with his experiments, but only because he wants to keep Varian and the people in his village of Old Corona safe. When mysterious black rocks take over the village, he goes to ask the King for help. However, when he arrives, he lies and says that Old Corona is thriving, and instead asks for more land so he may return to Old Corona and help his village on his own. When Varian freaks out about his lies, he becomes stern and asserts his protectiveness over him.
Quirin has a low pitched voice with a stern quality. Here is a sample of his original voice, though I am open to other interpretations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_sbbaLvBzQ
(stern, but caring) "Varian! I told you to stay away from those rocks! Now listen to me. There is more to them than you can possibly imagine. I am sorry, son. You are not ready."
(deceitful, but not for evil intent - he decides within this phrase to lie about the state of Old Corona so as not to worry the king) "Your Majesty, Old Corona is facing quite the dilemma... It would appear this year's harvest has proven quite bountiful! So much so that I humbly request more land to accommodate such bounty!"
Frederick is the kind but determined King of Corona. He is a very loving father to Rapunzel, and does everything he can to protect her and to protect his kingdom. He and his wife, Queen Ariana, have plans to go on a mountain retreat for their anniversary. Because Rapunzel must be left in charge, he worries about leaving her - not because he doesn't trust Rapunzel, but because he doesn't want her to get hurt.
King Frederick has a deep voice with a bass-y quality, but has a warm tone. Here is a clip of his original voice as reference, though I am open to other interpretations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEAVF4Y0EiQ
(slightly worried) "Are you sure you'll be okay, Rapunzel? Because your mom and I can always stay. We have plenty of anniversaries to come, you know."
(caring and wise) "Now remember, you'll discover when you become Queen, many voices will demand to be heard. But when all is said and done, the voice in your heart is the one you should follow."
Ariana is a loving Queen with a big heart. She is calm and collected, and though she cares deeply about Rapunzel, she trusts her completely to fulfill her duties and take over as queen when she and King Frederick go on a mountain retreat for their anniversary.
Queen Ariana has a medium pitched voice with some gravel. Here is a link to her original voice for reference, though I am open to other interpretations!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jkLOf4y9zs (she speaks at around 00:45)
(teasing, but caring) "Uh, Frederick? We're going to be away for two days. We deserve a little break. I think she can manage."
(in wonderment) "Wow. Oh, it's beautiful! I don't recall the last time it snowed this much!"
(somewhat sad and sentimental) "Fred... she's going to make a great queen. Happy anniversary, sweetheart."
