Tales of Tasia (updated)
Project Overview
Tales of Tasia is going to become an original animatic series. I plan for about four or five seasons, though I'm not quite 100% sure how many episodes there will be per season. If you don't get the role you auditioned for, don't feel bad. There are a bunch of background characters, and if I like your voice, I may get in contact with you. Also, if you have skills in art, editing, composing or anything like that, be sure to drop me a message on this site. It'll improve your chances of getting onboard. The story is about a troubled teenaged witch in a fantasy world who learns about life, friendship and love with the help of a cast of quirky characters. A teenaged witch. Snarky and sarcastic. Sometimes selfish. Still, deep down, she means well. Has a hard time expressing her deeper feelings, so she tries to play things off.
"Do you really not know why people around here don't like me? Wow. You really are new to this place, aren't you?"
"You think you're so high and mighty? At least I don't have to listen to a talking frog."
"Um, yeah. You could say I have a problem. I think a maniac is in love with me. On one hand, don't get me wrong, it's creepy. But, like, at the same time... I'm kind of flattered."
This girl is a young succubus. One day, she'll be an irresistible temptress. For now, though, she's just a bubbly teen. She can manipulate men to an extent, but she's still working on figuring out her power. She's extremely emotional, and switches moods at the drop of a hat. If she's the one you audition for, hold nothing back.
"Oops! Sorry! I totally didn't see you there! ... Know what? You're cute."
*maniacally angry* "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! ... I dunno how! IT JUST IS!"
*confused* "So I'm, like, right in front of him. And he's ignoring me!" *mad now* "How can anyone ignore me?!" *now about to cry* "What did I do wrong? I don't wanna be ignored!!"
A young teen, about 14 or 15. This guy likes to talk. Often. Sometimes rambles without realizing it. Tries to be happy and chatty all the time in order to cover up the burden he carries in his heart. He's very outgoing and very friendly. He's also a shape-shifter who loves to take on a human form and mingle with people.
*like you're greeting a bunch of friends* "Hey! How've you been? Is that a new haircut? Looks good! Hey! How's your mother? Awesome! Hey! Did you win the tournament? Better luck next time, buddy!"
"See, whenever one of my kind changes shape, we still have to keep a star somewhere on our bodies. You know, to symbolize that we can never truly change who we are. I guess it's one of those silly 'divine laws of the universe' or something."
*nervously chuckling* "What? Why would I...? Why should I...?" *giving up, sighing, sad and regretful* "Look. I just... I can't talk about her. She's gone. There's nothing anyone can do about it."
A ghost who's been around for centuries. Mortals can go to him if they need a favour, but he always expects payment in some way. He's usually quite calm and collected, but becomes a total nightmare if he gets angry or thinks he's being ripped off. Audio effects and distortion would be a bonus when performing angry lines.
*cool and calm* "Yeah, I get it. I'd be upset, too. But can you do me a favour? I promise it's nothing hard." *suddenly furious* "YOU'RE SITTING ON MY TOMBSTONE! GET OFF!"
"You see, when you've been around as long as I have, you learn to let the little things go. What's my real name? Did I have a family? I don't know. But guess what? I learned to let it go."
"... You think this is funny?" *slowly getting more and more angry* "If you don't pay me by tonight, I will possess your puny little body and THROW YOU OFF A CLIFF!" *compose yourself* "I don't bluff, kid. Just get me what I need, and everyone will be happy."
Quite easily the nicest girl you'll ever meet. What she lacks in intelligence, Glimmar more than makes up for in enthusiasm and kindness. Some sweet people come across as fake, but not her. You can tell that every single thing she says is 100% genuine. Unfortunately for her, she ends up with a curse worse than death...
*comforting little kids* "No, no, don't be scared! This isn't a scary day; it's a happy day! Do you guys want to play?"
*gentle, but firm* "Stay behind me, kids. I promise, I won't let anything happen to you."
*calling for help, on the verge of tears* "Hello? Can anyone hear me? Please... I just want to go home..." *choking back a sob* "No one ever hears me..."
A girl from Paris, France, who was brought to a magical world and given a pair of wings. Fauna is mature and wise, and always urges people to look at problems and issues in a different way. She's the one people go to when they need someone to listen. She's peculiar and nosy, but it's hard not to like her. She's also a total nerd. The French accent doesn't have to be too pronounced, but I'd still like it to be there.
*exasperated* "Zut alors, with you people, it's just one problem after another. How come I never get a break around here?"
*patiently* "I understand your feelings, my friend, but you need to remember that you're not the only one affected by this. What about him? Have you thought about what he's going through?"
*passionate and excited* "Or I could tell you about the book I'm reading! So there's this dystopian future, and these five teens find out they have special powers and..." *disappointed now* "And nobody's listening to me. Oh well."
For this lady, think of that one really scary teacher you've had at least once in your life. Violetta is like that. She doesn't take BS from anybody, and you simply don't want to mess with her. If you do, she'll shut you down REAL fast. Violetta has been cursed to never age, and several heartbreaking experiences have shaped her into a spiteful recluse.
*contemplating* "What a pure heart he has, so full of love and understanding. I can't wait until the world poisons it."
"All I want is some peace and quiet. So why do you idiots keep breaking into my house?!"
*bitter* "I've stopped trying to make connections with people. Why should I even bother? I'm guaranteed to outlive anyone I meet. Why should I say hello when I know that I'll have to say goodbye?"
This one's a real oddball. All he wants is to control everyone and everything around him. He's got a nearly genius-level IQ, and would've definitely taken over the world by now if he hadn't developed a humongous crush on a witch named Lisa. When he's not building robots or tricking people into revealing their deepest secrets, he's trying to get over his massive social anxiety.
*confused* "Why do I act so differently around her? Just this morning I noticed her walking by my house, and I almost choked to death on the water I was drinking."
*imagine being extremely awkward around your crush* "My lady, may I beverage a get you? Ack! No!" *sighing* "Just come in."
"Computer, take a note. Upon further investigation, it appears that I have a rival competing against me. After careful consideration, I've realized that I only have one option. I'm going to have to kill him."
Bert is a talking frog with a thick New Yorker accent. He doesn't have many cares or worries. He mostly just hangs around Violetta and gives her someone to talk to.
"Yo. What's your problem? You never seen a talkin' frog before?"
"You ain't seriously gonna let 'em get away with it, are ya, V? If I was you, I'd track 'em all down and smite every last one of 'em!"
"If it makes ya feel any better, V, I ain't one for parties, neither. Just gimme a good ol' jar of flies and call it a night, that's what I say."
The captain of the royal guard. Damasen is a childhood friend of Princess Katharine, and every single day, he asks her to marry him. She always says no, but that never stops him. He's chipper and upbeat, but also a good and serious solider. He takes his duty to heart, and will defend his princess to the death.
"Kit! Hey! I've got a question for you!" *dramatic pause* "Will you marry me?"
*poking fun at himself* "Hey, whatever the Princess wants, the Princess gets. And if the Princess wants to make me look like a lovesick fool every day, then that's what she gets."
*encouraging* "Keep it up, men! I want to see you sweating! And don't you even think of quitting! Yeah, that's it! Keep moving! Five more laps! Don't give up!"
Katharine is your typical princess in frilly dresses and handkerchiefs. ... That is, until she dons a suit of armour and pretends to be one of the boys in the royal guard. Kit gets tired of her royal duties, and every once in a while, she just wants to feel like 'one of the guys'. Every single day, her best friend Damasen proposes to her. And every single day, she says no. It's not that she doesn't like him. She just doesn't think that the time is right yet.
*like a prim and proper royal* "With all due respect, Father, if you force me to marry any of these suitors, I will drown myself in my goblet."
*having fun, trying to sound more masculine* "Yeah! Nice one, Sam! Right in the kisser!"
*worried* "Please, please don't tell my father about this! He'll never let me out of the castle again! He expects me to be the perfect lady, but I just need to have a break every once in a while. You understand, don't you?"
