Sunnyside Magic High - Animated Series
Project Overview
Sunnyside Magic High is an upcoming animated series that follows four royals in a world called Cora who go to a prestigious high school that teaches them how to control their magical abilities while learning how to rule someday. We follow River, Prince of The Water Kingdom, who grieves the loss of his late father while trying his best to leave his comfort zone, make friends, and excel academically. Hazel of The Nature Kingdom, a princess trying to fit in even with her lack of control over her powers and lack of experience with others her age. Crescenta, Princess of The Star Kingdom a royal who has trouble juggling foreign new abilities as well as being herself in fear of how she may be treated by her peers. And Zephyr, Prince of The Wind Kingdom, an underestimated Prince looking for a distraction while learning what true friendship is and how to wield his gift. With the returned threat of dark magic, a force based in corruption, things might not be as great as they think. While learning more about themselves every day, and while singing their way through life, will these four be able to chase after their destiny and be the powerful rulers they were always meant to be?
Sunnyside Magic High will be a web series; the show will be aired on the 'Sunnyside Magic High' YouTube channel.
With this project, we hope to create a fun and enjoyable workplace where talents can work together; not only on this project but on their unique creative voice. Most (if not all) of the communications around the project will happen over Discord. We welcome people of all ages and experience levels to audition for this project. It is recommended that you join the server so we can keep you posted on your audition!

Ms. Ayla is the principal of Sunnyside Magic High, and she has been in charge of the school for many many years. She's usually found organizing things, making sure students and classes are in check, no one's fooling around and also teaching Magic History. Ms. Ayla is princess of The Solar Kingdom, which means that she has solar-related abilities. She's a good principal who's very passionate about what she does, and though sometimes it can seem like she's strict or intimidating, she really just cares for her students and wants them to succeed.
Her voice is dignified and assertive. We don't have much of a specific pitch in mind, but not too high pitched, more mid/midlow/low.

MS. AYLA: (loud, proud, introducing) Alright, first years! Welcome to Sunnyside Magic High. The one, and only school for royals in all of Cora. I am Ms. Ayla, the headmistress here at Sunnyside, and your Magic History teacher. I have taught generations upon generations of rulers and royalty, and our rich curriculum has generated powerful, educated monarchs. I understand that being here can be intimidating, seeing other royals, doing things you might not be quite familiar with... But I assure you that the next 3 years will be magical. Before we begin, does anyone have any questions?
MS. AYLA: (intimidating, unamused, scolding) Do you think you're funny? Do you really think I'm just going to stand here and laugh while you waste everyone's time? You really are nothing like your mother. Magic history is not a joke, and neither is my time. If you really think it is... then you are welcome to leave.
MS. AYLA: (intimidating, hesitant) What you did was reckless, foolish, and dangerous... but you saved your class and the four of you clearly have talent.
Storyboard artists translate the script and the director's vision into pictures. They produce a series of panels of images to plan the shots and ensure continuity between them. These form the basis for the animation or the next stage of production. They also might need to draw rough outlines for what the characters have physical contact with or anything behind them.

A background artist or sometimes called a background stylist or background painter is one who is involved in the process who establishes the color, style, and mood of a scene drawn by the background designer.

A sketch artist is someone who knows their way around the art style would sketch out things like turnarounds, character concepts, promo art, or even background characters. Basically, a sketch artist is someone who can do the style well who can do tasks that require art style understanding.

A colorist takes the lined frames and colors the characters and props according to their reference sheets. This does not include shading.

A color stylist makes sure the colors in a scene match where the scene takes place. They put specific lighting and change characters’ color palettes depending on where they are or what time of day it is. So they are also responsible for shading.

An FX artist creates visual effects. They're responsible for creating smoke, fire, destruction, water, rain, as well as smaller effects such as objects colliding or a gust of wind.

The music composer is who's responsible for creating character themes and composing the BGM for episodes.
We're looking for creative composers who can capture characters and the overall tone of our show beautifully and make good use of our references. We need someone who can play around with our magical/royal/unearthly aesthetic while still making things feel down to earth and familiar.
