Lie Lin, the mother of Lie Ren, is the host of her plane's spirit, Lan Zhi Hua. To avoid assassination attempts from anyone who may want her power, Lin locked herself in a temple with trials that judge the pureness of a visitor's intentions, as such she doesn't receive many visitors
The culture of Lan Zhi Hua appears to heavily inspired by Ancient China, hence a Chinese accent seems the most fitting for Lin
Most of her dialogue carries a sort of "Wise Figure" tone but she does have a couple lines that seems to have a more casual and/or motherly tone
Tonal Context: After her son, Lie Ren, responded to her concerned question with sarcasm
Don't speak that way to me, young men. I'm your mother and I'm allowed to be worried about you.
Tonal context: Lin describing Ruby's experience and with a vague warning
Crescent Rose isn't awake, not yet. But the wheels have been set in motion for her to reveal herself. When she does, there will be no mistaking it. And no telling what kind of devastating power she may unleash on her enemies.
Tonal context: Trying to reassure Nora to not blame herself for putting a different spirit into Ren
It's no one's fault. It's just an unfortunate misunderstanding. As the spirits continue to wake and rise in power, we'll be able to find a solution. For now... all I know is Lan Zhi Hua is feeding off my own desire to see you. Her jealously, her possessiveness, burns through me hotter than hatred. Nothing is really known about this character aside from the fact that he's seen giving Ren a lecture for getting involved with fighting the Grimm before letting Glynda meet with Lie Lin offscreen the day before Ren & Nora bring Ruby & Weiss to meet with Lin
Being from Lan Zhi Hua, this character is from a plane that seems to be heavily inspired by Ancient China, therefore, a Chinese accent would be most appreciated if you audition for this role

Tonal Context: Turning to Ruby after Ren mentions her, his scolding tone from Ren turning into a more formal one as he gives Ruby a short bow

Nothing is specifically stated about the guardswoman aside from the fact that she's been tasked with watching the village perimeter that the visiting monarch, Ruby, during the night for any signs of hostile Grimm.

And while it's not stated to be the case in the VN itself, I like to imagine this character is a background character who has a history of watching Lie Ren while his mother has been in a secluded temple for years due to the spirit of Lan Zhi Hua (who shares her name with the plane itself) so try to mix a tone of professionalism with a motherly tone if you want
