Strawberry Milk (Trailer)
Project Overview
Strawberry Milk is a story about a young boy named Collin who moves with his family to a new home in the mountains following the passing of his grandmother. He has trouble socializing with his new classmates and recluses himself with only his hobby of painting landscapes- a passion he shared with his grandmother- until he unwittingly befriends a music-loving girl named Sue who introduces a new magic to his work.
This'll just be the trailer for it, though, not a whole script. I don't know when a whole production will be worked on but if you audition for the trailer and would like to be kept in mind for a potential larger project then let me know.

Collin is a soft-spoken and relatively anxious 11-year-old boy. He's uneasy talking about his family or his work but there's always an underlying sense that he WANTS to if he could just overcome his nervousness and in the moments it IS overcome it's replaced with a deep sense of fondness and wonder. His voice is quiet but still audible, his tone soft yet slightly forceful as if it takes him some amount of effort to make himself speak out loud at all sometimes.

We used to live by an old lighthouse. My grandpa was in charge of it for years before he died. He used to take me to the top of it just before it got dark to look out at the water and all of the colours of the stars and the sky and sea looked like... Magic. Grandma always just called it "magic". I think that's the best word for it anyway.
They're not very good yet. But I'm trying. Dad says he'll get me oil paints for my birthday.
It's... a deer. I guess. I'm that good at drawing the animals yet. I just like the trees.
Sue is a 12-year-old girl full of a passionate yet gentle energy. Her words are confident yet held back slightly as if still assessing the other person's boundaries. She's personable and friendly and yet isn't a social butterfly. While she seems like she might be the type who could easily have many friends, she's selective about who she lets herself associate with and carries an almost motherly way about her with her mature and heartfelt way of speaking.

Sorry. I don't mean to be nosy. I saw what you drew in class. It was really good. You could probably be professional!
Music is art, too, you know. It... puts a picture in your head. You play something and it's like the whole story's painted in the room. I want to do that. Tell stories like that.
It's nice to meet you, Collin. My name's Sue. I'll be your first friend here. And maybe the best one you'll have if I'm lucky.
The gentle voice of Collin's grandma. A caring and thoughtful woman whose mind was often elsewhere.

Art tells a story. All you have to do is let it speak.
Take a deep breath... and let it out.
Collin's mother is an energetic woman who actively tries to make the best of any situation even if it can come across as a little desperate sometimes. She does her best to maintain a positive home environment for her son, fearing grief will ruin his upbringing, but in doing her best she doesn't always understand that her son needs to experience his feelings to process them.

This is a new life! Seize the opportunities while they're still waiting for you!
It's a lot to handle. But I know you can do it.
Andrew's a fellow classmate of Collin's. He doesn't have too much involvement though tries to involve himself occasionally in some attempt to include Collin in the other boys' games despite Collin's disinterest.

What's THAT supposed to be?
(encouragingly) Come on, Collin! We're all going to the water! You can't sit there all day!
