Stop Motion Horror Short - "I Am Alone, and I Am Afraid"

Project Overview

Synopsis:

When a mysterious knocking sounds from Buckley's door at midnight, he wants to ignore it and hide away inside, but opening the door proves to be the only way he can be freed from the monsters within himself.

This short film is being created as my senior project at Champlain College for my Filmmaking BFA. The script is 4 pages long and features two speaking roles. One male, one female.

As of now, this project is volunteer based. However, there may be a chance of compensation down the road.

  • Thank You All

I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to audition for this project. I will be going over all your auditions again in the coming weeks. Some of you may be contacted individually about possibly resubmitting auditions with new direction from myself, so be on the lookout. There were so many good auditions, so once again, thank you for your participation. -Jacob D'Amour

A monster of Buckley's own making. He speaks what's one Buckley's mind because he is Buckley's mind. He's menacing and a bit of a tease. At his angriest he can be extremely intimidating. I would like his voice to be deep and eloquent.

  • "Ah, so the knocking comes again tonight."

  • "Well, that's a sorry sight. Frail little Buckley afraid of a visitor at his door. Ore perhaps it's me you're afraid of."

  • "There's no escape from here. But all the better for it, right? You have no business out there. You're spineless, a freak. No one would ever want you."

A friend of Buckley's. She's concerned for him and determined to get him to come out of the house. Her tone should be gentle with perhaps a hint of worry or desperation.

  • "Hello? Buckley? Please open the door."

  • "Hello... I know you're in there."

  • "Buckley. Are you okay? Do you want to come with me?"
