Still Holding On (Student Film)
Project Overview
“Still Holding On” is a short film of loss and healing. We follow Griffin an 11 year old boy who is coping with the passing of his father who he holds onto dearly. Griffin and his father would play pretend and read the tales of old, about knights and dragons. Not wanting his father to truly be gone, Griffin has created an imaginary world where he lives in denial of his passing.
Griffin lives out his days going to his favourite spots which he used play at with his Father and reading the stories his father would tell him. But with reminders all around of what Griffin has lost he struggles to openly face the grief.
However, when a Dragon suddenly appears in his ideal world threatening to take his father away, again. Griffin must confront the monster and overcome the hard truth he faces.

Griffin, is the main protagonist in this story. He was confident and brave but with the sudden passing of his father Griffin became quiet and reserved. His father would tell him tales of old about knights and dragons. However, with his father gone he is scared of the dragons in these tales that leave a path of death in their wake.
Griffin is still growing up and with the fear of being alone in the world he recreates his father in his imagination.

Griffins Father sadly passed away a year ago and ever since griffin has been holding onto the stories his father would tell him. Griffins father was kind, caring and brave. Although passing in the real world Griffin still has his father in his imaginary world.
Griffins Father loved to play pretend with Griffin and would take him on adventures to medieval locations and tell him all about the history. The favourite story of his Is about King Arthur and the Knights of the roundtable.

The embodiment of grief in Griffins tale. The dragon is a monster created in Griffins mind from the stories he was told as a child by his father. The dragon is a dark scaled beast, with fierce red eyes. Griffin must confront the dragon as he tries to hold onto the memory of his father which the dragon threatens to take away.

I am looking for a music composer who will be able to compose the music for my short, animated film. I am looking for someone who is able to play the piano and perhaps other instruments. The film is roughly 3 minutes 50 seconds in length.
Sadly as I am a student I wouldn't be able to pay for this role but would be very thankful is someone would be able to fill this position.
