Star Wars Audio Drama: The Year on Mandalore
Project Overview
Introduction:
Hi! The name's Light, and I'm looking for a few VAs to voice in a cold read/Audio drama for a Star Wars fanmade script. It takes place a couple years before the Phantom Menace when then Padawan Obi Wan Kenobi and Jedi Master Qui Gon Jinn were on a mission to protect Duchess Satine Kryze on Mandalore. This is a two part mini series (I may expand on it in the future) that will be posted on my Youtube channel.
What to expect:
Once auditions end, I will contact VAs here on Casting Call via DMs, so please be sure to respond within a day with your weekly availability and Discord tag (you must have Discord in order to participate in the project).
We will meet on the weekends and some weekdays (if possible) for recording sessions. VAs will do a live recording over Discord to give a more authentic performance under the direction of myself. Be prepared to set aside 1-2 hours of recording sessions depending on the character and scene (15-30 minute breaks are included in the sessions).
The project will conclude by the second week of August and the first part of the Audio Drama will be uploaded before the end of August.
Audition notes:
**Updated audition lines for every role except Bounty Hunter.**
The only thing I am requiring for this audition is good, quality audio since there are hardly any visuals in an audio drama. I will not accept white noise, background ambiance, or fuzz in the audio.
Once auditions are complete, I will contact you via Direct Message on Casting Call. Please do not leave Discord tags or other personal information in your auditions.
Happy Auditioning! :D
**Side Note: I didn't have a better picture for the bounty hunter, so I chose a Korok with a handgun instead. Please don't refer to the photo when auditioning for that role, it's just for laughs.

If you haven't already, please read over the updated project description and plan ahead! Also, I ask anyone who is interested in auditioning (or who has already auditioned) to go over the audition notes as some of the current auditions do not meet the minimum requirements I'm looking for in terms of audio quality. If you'd like to resubmit an audition, DM me here on CCC to let me know! -LightWrites c:

Kenobi is loyal and committed to the ways of the Jedi; while he is a headstrong Padawan, there are moments where he falters in remaining steadfast to the Jedi code. It's a challenge for the Padawan who began his training later than others in his age group; there is no room for big mistakes that would hinder him from becoming a knight.
[You're sharing a few things you learned from Qui Gon with Satine. A "normal" moment where you're not being shot at or chased by something.]
Well we’re not droids. The Jedi can feel emotions like any other being. We are simply trained to control them so that they don’t cloud our judgement.
Master Qui Gon says things don't happen on accident. There's always a reason behind it. He calls it "the will of the force."
[You and the Duchess are met with a swarm of Venomites; she says killing them with your lightsaber won't be enough.]
Then what do you suggest we do?! We can’t run forever– you certainly can’t!
[The Duchess witnessed you defeating an enemy in a gruesome manner. You realize how badly it affected her and approach her gently.]
Duchess… forgive me for the anguish I caused you–But my mission is to protect you and I cannot promise that bloodshed will cease… However, I will do my best to find alternatives in dealing with our adversaries.
[You are deeply conflicted with your feelings for the Duchess. When speaking with master Qui Gon, you are determined to burry them, but you feel the "undercurrent of remorse".]
I have come all this way, master… I’m so close to becoming a Jedi knight, I know it. I can feel it. I will not allow these feelings to keep me from that.

Satine Kryze has been greatly affected by the atrocities of war on her home world, Mandalore. Her mental health is suffering from the constant running, fighting, and death. The only normal she has experienced are moments with Padawan Obi Wan Kenobi--that is, when they're not being shot at. She grows feelings for the Padawan because of this and is torn knowing their relationship could never happen. Despite all this, she's learned to keep her head high and accept the current state of her world, knowing that she will change it one day.
[You are perplexed upon learning that Jedi do, in fact, have emotions.]
The way you and Master Qui Gon carry yourselves, one would think the Jedi are an emotionless and stoic bunch.
[This is one of those "normal" moments between you and Obi Wan. No war, no running, just two "friends" braving the world together.]
Obi Wan, you’ve been carrying me for some time now. You can put me down if you’d like a break.
So, was it the "will of the force" for you to drop me into the ravine, or are you simply that clumsy?
[Obi Wan just defeated an enemy in a gruesome way and it traumatizes you. You are slowly reaching your breaking point.]
I can’t do this anymore… I can’t stand all this–this– ALL THIS! The running, the fighting, death–ALL OF IT!
There are other ways to do it, are there not?! You could have disarmed him, knocked him unconscious, and tied him up! Instead, you slaughtered him like livestock, before my own eyes! He was in pain during his final moments… I can never unsee that…
[Obi Wan is carrying you away from the Venomites, but you're not out of danger yet. You're both at a cliffside, and you are terrified of what Obi Wan's next move is: Jumping the cliff.]
Obi Wan… whatever you’re thinking of, get it out of your head!

Known for his controversial teachings and philosophy on the force, Qui Gon Jinn is nothing like traditional Jedi. He embraces a more natural way of connecting to the force through pure instinct and feeling. He, unlike the masters on the Jedi council, isn't strict on following every rule of the Jedi code; in fact, he disagrees with many of the rules and admits it's flawed. Despite grievances from the other masters over his stubbornness, Master Qui Gon is undoubtedly one of the most wise and powerful Jedi to walk the temple.
[You are reprimanding your Padawan for saying something insensitive.]
Yes, but there is the concern of those that slip through the cracks and that is why we are here, my Padawan.
[Same notes as above, but speaking in private.]
Mind you that this is a time of great suffering for the people of Mandalore, insensitivities are not tolerated, do you understand?
[This is during a speeder chase. Bounty hunters are after the Duchess, Obi Wan, and you. You trust your Padawan that he'll keep the Duchess safe.]
We’ll have to split up!
Head towards south!
And keep the Duchess safe!
[You don't want to see your Padawan beat himself over having feelings for someone. While this is a teaching moment, there's also a hint of frustration, but not at whom you're speaking with.]
The code is flawed. It doesn’t consider the vulnerability of adolescents and young adults such as yourself. You are at an age where such feelings are incredibly strong, especially those of romance.
AGE: N/A
A Bounty Hunter sent by Mandalorian Traditionalists to kill the Duchess and the Jedi protecting her. Up for interpretation, but the thought of toying with your target delights you, especially one that can't fight back.
**Note: As stated above in the project description, please do not refer to the photo provided for this role. It's just for laughs. c:
[You are face to face with one of your targets, the Duchess. You think the Jedi protecting her is dead, and you relish in her fearful demeanor.]
Easy there, Duchess… I’ll make it as quick and painless as possible.
[Give me two lines of Improv.]
Some context to work with:
You were promised a fine reward by Mandalorian Traditionalists for killing the Duchess and a bonus for each Jedi.
You've been chasing the trio from Mandalore to Draboon.
One of your partners died in the speed bike crash, but you don't seem to care much.
You thought you killed the Jedi protecting her.
