Soul Eater Unbound (Chapter 2) *NEW ROLES ADDED*

Thanks for checking out my newest, working fan project for the manga series, Soul Eater!

**this is actually my second time casting for this project because I ran out of times to reopen the project when deadlines weren't met; but they've taken that feature off, so from now on, all progress will updated here (click here for the original casting call)**


The plot so far will follow a continuation of the main series, three years after the final chapter. In this time, Soul Evans, the original partner of Maka Albarn has bent sent away to monitor a certain part of the world, as a Death Scythe. A new protagonist will be focused heavily on named, Grimm, a scythe that stumbles onto Death City. Maka senses his Madness as he enters the city, causing the DWMA to attack him. Grimm is easily able to hold his own against the OCs, being able to transform and use his body as a weapon without a Meister. The cast soon realizes that although Grimm shows signs of pure Madness, he somehow has it finely tuned and completely under control. Grimm reveals that he had not come to fight, soon after joining the DWMA and becoming Maka's new Weapon partner.

The plot will center around learning more about the mysterious Grimm and the second coming of the Kishin, by the destruction of the Moon, therefore releasing Asura.

For the original series characters, please do your best to imitate the voices from the dub of the anime.

  • WE'RE FINALLY MOVING ON

    I think I gave plenty of time for everyone to audition for Stein before making my decision. Now that the last role was filled, we're officially moving on to Chapter 2. All the basic mechanics and gameplay for chapter 1 is already done. All that we need are character busts, backgrounds, and animated cutscenes. As I change up the project page, those are roles that will still be open. So please submit applications for backgrounds or animation! I could really use the help to finish this project sometime next year. Other than that, I'm excited to announce new supporting roles for Chapter 2. It's a doozy. And thanks to everyone for all the patience and support! This project is a lot of fun for me.

I'm not very skilled at drawing backgrounds and some backgrounds are really hard to find, so I would like to have help with this. They should be drawn digitally and in color and must include shading.

Described as possessing an "uptight personality" by Franken Stein, Death the Kid is known to be a normally calm and mature individual compared to those like Black☆Star and Soul Eater. Throughout the series, he's shown to be prideful of his status as a Shinigami, wanting to become the next full-fledged Shinigami and inheriting his father's responsibilities. However, he also wants to do so in his own unique way, even telling his own father he wants to make his own weapons to his specifications despite Death informing him that as a Shinigami, he doesn't really need to collect souls. According to Black☆Star's testament of his view on Death the Kid, despite being a Shinigami he is also capable of being humane and not displaying the typical arrogance of someone who has the status of a god. This is true, so much so that he even see's himself partly as a human and expressed this fact to Asura.

Being a man of science, Dr. Stein sees everything in the world, including himself, as an experiment. He also exhibits a sadistic and intimidating personality. Despite this cruel and twisted personality, Stein does have a kind and compassionate side that worries for his friends and students and he feels the need to protect them. He also exhibits a rather paternal demeanor towards his students. He also expresses deep disgust and moral outrage towards Medusa for stating that she would abandon her own child, Crona, when they would become useless to her.

Marie Mjolnir

Marie is a kind and genuine woman, being gentle and expressing her personality at all times as well as maintaining a kind and compassionate relationship with other people. Despite her initial reluctance to teach, she found herself enjoying not only the students when meeting some of them for the first time but later teaching as well. As a teacher, she has grown to care for students within a short amount of time, even feeling like she overstepped her boundaries as a new teacher when she attempted to prevent members of Kilik's Team from entering the Magnetic Field. However, even Marie has a fierce side, disliking any student who disobeys orders (although recognizes good intentions) enough to personally call them up. She is also protective of her students and those she cared about, going so far as to attack Justin Law because of his betrayal of the DWMA, killing Joe Buttataki, and targeting her student, Maka Albarn. Of her own admittance, Marie's goal in life was to become a Death Scythe, get married, and retire straight away after for a peaceful life. Despite these claims, however, Marie herself not only actually enjoys to working but, according to both Azusa and Stein, is even obsessed with it.

Patty is mostly seen speaking in a sing-song voice, as she often says '♪' after her main speech. She acts and speaks like a young child. She pronounces words like "hello" and "sorry", as a child would "hullo" and "sowwy", and seems to still be learning about simple things such as assigning animal noises to the right animal. She is certainly unaware of more complex concepts, such as those of genders other than simply male and female. However, these may not have been explained to her due to her generally childish demeanor and inability to understand a lot of things, as exemplified by Liz congratulating her on simply getting animal names right. This lack of knowledge may be due to her growing up on the streets and presumably not having a formal education.

While Patty is very child-like, Liz is more like a stereotypical teenage girl (worried about makeup, shopping, looks, etc). Despite mostly being the cool-headed and serious of the sisters, she is shown to be extremely afraid of paranormal things, convinced that any ghost she meets is out to eat her (where her paranoia severely irritates the ghosts that are trying to help her). She can also be a little cynical and shallow sometimes (but not always), and sometimes takes advantage of other people for her own gains, like when she pretends that Tsubaki's cooking is her own to impress a boy she likes. She can be flirtatious and can also be charming to men, mostly in order to deceive them (which is shown when she tricks Giriko alongside Patty).

  • #"I used to think as long as we were together, Patty and I would always be able to laugh.... that we could have a fun and crazy life, just the two of us... I never thought we needed anyone. I use to hate everyone else... I use to wish we could make them all disappear forever... Patty laughed so hard that day... it was like she was making up for all the years before. Looking back..... I think maybe the Grim Reaper did take our lives after all... in a sense..."

An extra that appears in Chapter 2. He's your typical, friendly neighborhood store clerk and is of the white Namibian ethnicity. I imagine a big, middle-aged man with a bright attitude. He runs a small, street-side vendor booth in the local town market.

  • “Ha-ha! It’s hard to believe just the two of you can eat so much so fast!” *the laugh doesn't actually have to just be "ha-ha," just use your own natural laugh*

For this chapter, Moshe will have a very short appearance, however, he will appear in future chapters! Keep this in mind when auditioning. If you don't feel like you'd be able to wait for his next appearance, please do not audition. For this reason, I have labeled him as a minor character. I still expect the best you can offer!

Moshe is an Egyptian, so I expect the best Arabic accent you can pull off. He is an OC from the manga that was originally unnamed and no info was really given for him, so I made up a character based on that original for this story. In this scene, he is dying. However, in later scenes, he will be an antagonist under the control of Asura. His personality will be rather generic, being under mind control, however, his main character trait is just speaking out sentences really profoundly, as a noble would.

I picture him having a similar personality to Odion from Yu-Gi-Oh!

A random, older, black African man with no head of hair but a whole lot of beard that approaches Grimm with help in getting to his destination overseas. He's the captain of a group of fisherman for the town of Luderitz that hires Grimm as payment for a trip to America. Unfortunately, during one of their jobs out at sea, an unexpected storm hits, killing everyone but Grimm.

  • “So you want to go to America, but you don’t have any money. Lucky for you, I’m looking for hired help, kiddo!”

Sofia is a homeless, teenage girl that saves Grimm's life from starvation. She's a tough spirit, going out of her way to help Grimm, and always staying positive and bright, even in the darkest of situations. Despite being only an extra, she plays a huge role in some scenes of Chapter 2, therefore I'm looking for top of the line acting ability. And please use a Spanish accent to the best of your ability.

Scenes with her in them can be slightly graphic, including swearing, telling her story of escaping sex trafficking, and an amateur surgery Grimm must perform on her to save her life. Please keep this in mind before auditioning.
