Sonic Forces The Rewritten Cut
Project Overview
What is this project all about?:
The Rewritten Cut is a Sonic Forces mod that replaces its story with my own take on what it could've been, featuring new plot points, overhauled characterization, and edits to some of the pre-rendered cutscenes.
Before you continue I encourage you to watch the embed video after reading this description, so you can get a taste on the writing style and scope of the project.
This mod was born entirely out of passion and love for this franchise, even if I wasn't satisfied with this game's story, I hold no hate towards the writers, nor the writing direction. My only objective with this mod is to give a compelling, playable take on this game's story could've been.
I know many projects of similar scope to this one end up being cancelled without much progress being made. However, I can promise that won't be the case here. This project has gone through more than a year of development, and from the very beginning, I focused on writing and polishing this version of the story to the best of my abilities, leaving voice acting as the last step before its completion.
You'll need a discord account, you can either include your username in your submission or dm it to me if you don't want it being public (Remember to open your dms, if you're account is set into friend only, then make sure to tell me in the submission).
It'd be preferable if the recordings were free of background noise, but I can perform noise reduction if it isn't too mayor.
I recommend not recording your audition all in one go. I want to hear your voice at its best, so feel free to take breaks between lines (It would also be appreciated if you cut these, but again, it's not required) and include as many takes as you want.
I don't necessarily want the characters to sound like they did in Forces. These characters have had many different voices over the years, so I won't ask for impressions of any particular VA's for each character, for example, if you audition for Shadow, you're completely free to do a Jason Griffith, David Humphrey or even a Keanu Reeves impression. Even if your voice isn't trying to match a previous VA's, I still encourage you to send a submission, because, while I value familiarity, I believe that at the end of the day, every VA gives their characters their own flair and that should be respected.
While I added custom audition lines, you're free (and encouraged) to add more lines if you want to.
If you want to audition for more than one character, go for it!
I first want to make clear that this is my first rodeo when it comes to working with VA's. If I forgot to explain anything or I did it badly (since English isn't my first language, I'm a Spanish lad), please leave a comment so I can make things clear.
Elaborating on that last point, my timezone is GMT+2, so I'm 6 hours ahead of the US and 1 hour ahead of the UK, if you send something and I take too long to respond, that's why.
The process should be pretty simple, I'll send all the VA's the script, in which I specified the character's feelings and how certain lines should be delivered, still, if you have questions about a certain line's delivery, you're more than encouraged to ask me, I'll also ask for retakes when I think they're needed.
It is specified in the script when a character has multiple back to back voicelines or when (during the levels) the characters stop a certain exchange.All voicelines must be shared as .wav files with mono channels, since stereo files play muted in-game, you can use any file sharing platform you want, as long as the sound quality stays intact.
I'll send the VA's two videos, one containing every single cutscene (recorded by me with the edited dialogue, of course) so they can see how long their lines have to be, in the case of pre-rendered cutscenes (I will specify which one they are), lines can be re-timed if needed. The second video will contain all the grunts and laughs in the game for the VA's to recreate more easily.

Sonic is the living definition of a free spirit. He fights for what he believes is right, finding thrill and excitement in the riskiest of moments. Through his adventures he has left a mark in many people's lives, specially in the friends he's met through them, because, even if he enjoys danger, the bonds he's made are what really push him in the worst of situations. In this story, Sonic is defeated and captured, his friends thinking he died, until they accidentally free him six months later during a raid on the Death Egg. Sonic finds himself in a position where his nemesis, Doctor Ivo Robotnik (better Known as Eggman), has conquered the world. Therefore, Sonic joins the Resistance, a group leaded by some of his closest friends to fight against the Eggman Empire.

We're not too hurt, but we will be if we don't act fast enough, if we can't figure out a way to win by tomorrow, we're finished.
Despite his young age, Miles "Tails" Prower is an absolute genious, he may not be as capable in combat as some of his friends, but he makes up for that with his gifted mind, whether he's making gadgets or coming up with plans. In this story, Tails thinks he's lost Sonic, his best friend, this caused him and the rest to create the Resistance. But after 5 months of fighting, Tails started to doubt himself, he realized that everyone else was risking their lives on the battlefield, while he came up with plans, this made him leave the resistance to work by himself, promising to return stronger. He quickly learned that he made a big mistake and that he was one of the Resistance's strongest assets. So once the Sonic from the past shows up and joins him, he makes it his mission to reunite with the Resistance and make things right.

Knuckles the echidna is the last of his kind. After his tribe was wiped out, he took on the role of the protector of the Master Emerald, the most powerful object in the universe. In this story, Knuckles is the commander and leader of the Resistance. Due to Tails's departure, he's been forced to strategize, and trust me, he's not scared to take risks, if something has to be done, it will be done. He's a master when it comes to fighting, who will often take his own routes on the battlefield with no one by his side.

It's simple. Once we leave the shuttle, you're gonna split into groups and take out all the enemies. I'll look for the control room, there, I'll disable the energy cuffs that restrain the prisoners.
Amy is the first friend Sonic met through his adventures, after he saved her from his robotic doppelgänger Metal Sonic, she fell in love with him, and, usually out of coincidence, ended up participating in his adventures alongside the others. Once she found out about his suppossed death, she quickly joined the Resistance, becoming its voice, since, aside from fighting like usual, she is the one that keeps the entire Resistance updated and communicated, often acting as a navigator in missions where she isn't required to fight.

Shadow the hedgehog is an artificial being created by Eggman's grandfather, the professor Gerald Robotnik. Recently, he's been able to finally accept his past and who he is, making his main objective the protection of the planet. In this story, he humiliated Zero the jackal, who would later become Infinite, who, in revenge, decided to frame Shadow for Sonic's death, because of this, Shadow isn't a member of the resistance, he's investigating Eggman and waiting for the perfect time to prove his innocence.

Well, the ruby is quite fragile. If we manage to destroy it, we would get rid of the clones and easily defeat Eggman. But with someone like Infinite as its user, it might be near impossible.
Sonic is dead...? That jackal, this was his plan! He trapped me so I wouldn't interfere!
Rouge loves gems, stealing them to be precise, thanks to this, she's really good at stealth. This made her a top-tier spy, who uses her skills while working with G.U.N, with Team Dark or for her own benefit. In this story, she's working for G.U.N alongside Omega and Shadow, once the latter is framed of Sonic's death, she starts working with the Resistance, both to help them out against Eggman and to keep Shadow updated on the state of the war.

Omega is one of Eggman's creations, being the strongest of the E-Series, he has a vendetta against his creator for keeping him in a base, his only objective is to destroy all of Eggman's robots to prove his superiority, even with this, Omega has some sort of apreciation for Shadow and Rouge, often teaming up with them. He doesn't get to do much in this story, since he's defeated in Episode Shadow and isn't repaired until the end of the story, where he gets to show off a bit.

Silver is a time traveler who often comes back to the past to help our heroes and fix his broken future. This time, Eggman's takeover is what destroyed it, so, once he comes back in time, he joins the Resistance to help take down the Eggman Empire. Even if most people in the Resistance don't know him much if at all, he quickly became one of their most important assets, due to his powerful psychic habilities and his unbeatable determination, which often makes him a voice of reason for the group.

Espio is a really skilled ninja, we don't really know how he got those skills, but they're put to (arguably?) good use, since he works with Charmy and Vector in the Chaotix detective agency, they're not too profesional, but they get the job done and it pays the bills sometimes. He's definitely the most down to earth member of the Resistance, he's definitely not a pesismist, but he knows when to put feelings aside to act accordingly, and is overall, quite a good leader for the Resistance's rookies.

Vector is the muscle and leader of the Chaotix, he might not be the brightest or the most serious, but he has a good heart and he's always got your back on the battlefield, trust me, if there's a mission available, he's taking it. I like to consider him the Resistance's cool uncle.

The last member of the Chaotix, while he can't really do much for the Resistance, he's still a part of the team and he tries his best to be useful, thankfully, Espio and Vector taught him how to behave with the other members, so he isn't up to any shenanigans like he usually is.

Doctor Eggman is a scientist with a dream, conquering the world so everyone bows before his genius. His ego is huge, Sonic and the others are always screwing up his plans, but he enjoys the challenge and would actively reject reaching his objective in a way he doesn't find satisfactory. In this story, Eggman finds a mysterious stone, that (due to time travel shenanigans) ended up on his base, capable of creating illusions that become real to the people he chooses to affect. With it, Eggman begins his ultimate plan for world domination, in which he defeats Sonic, the Resistance being the only thing that can stand on his way.

Infinite (formerly known as Zero the jackal), is (alongside Eggman) the main villain of this story. He was the leader of his own mercenary squad, they were contracted by Eggman to help protect his main base of operations at the time, before Shadow raided it, giving him a beatdown that changed his life forever. Because of this, Zero abandoned his squad and took over the identity of Infinite, the whielder of the Phantom Ruby. Infinite tends to treat Zero as a completely different entity, as he sees his past self as a weakling, often describing him with the world worthless, the same word Shadow called him. Infinite's only objective is to show his "superiority" and impose fear upon others, due to this, he can get genuinely mad when someone "dares" to challenge him or puts up a good fight.

Zavok is one of Sonic's past foes and the leader of the Deadly Six. In this story, he shows up as one of the Phantom Copies, created by the Phantom Ruby.
