Middle-aged Coworker *Skit for Song* (PAID)
Project Overview
This casting call is for a short skit that will be in a song from my upcoming music project, "Anubis." The song is called "Local," telling the underlying story of the album: my growth as a person and especially as an artist.
The skit is a play on real, past events where one day at work I received an email asking to be a part of a huge music festival tour across the U.S. with the potential to even go overseas. A middle-aged coworker of mine walked over to the smoking area where I was standing and noticed I was looking at my phone with excitement. That's where this skit begins; the conversation between me and my coworker. I will need one person to portray the coworker.
Requirements:
- NO background noise
- Try to get rid of as much room ambience as possible
- Decent quality microphone recording (do not record with your laptop mic, phone, or tablet)
- Quality acting; do your BEST
Keep a lookout for similar casting calls I may put up! I have more skits for other songs that need to be done, in the future.
There are only 3 lines total, and the current budget is a sum of up to $15 for the project, depending on the quality of the recording. This amount is negotiable, but only if certain proven criteria are met, such as professional/paid role experience and equipment setup. Negotiations will only begin after being cast.
Thanks so much to everyone who auditions! I can't do it without you guys.

The setting is outside of the shop I work at, within the vicinity of a power plant, and I and a coworker are standing at the designated smoking area just beside the building. You will portray my middle-aged (40-year-old range) who is obviously a smoker, sharing in the excitement of me being invited to perform across the country.
Since he's a smoker, I prefer the actor to have/use a raspier voice like that of an older man smoker. You will also have to pretend as if you are smoking throughout these lines.
Please do your best!
*you approach me, noticing that I'm staring at my phone screen with excitement*
"Whatcha got there? Get some good news? *smokes cigarette* Don’t let the boss catch you on that thing." (referring to my phone)*I inform you of the invitation to go on tour for my music*
*chokes up for a second on the smoke saying, "Oh,"*
*read the rest normally* "well damn son. That's awesome! You gonna do it?"
"Well when you get famous, don’t forget about your buddies at the plant!"
*referring to the power plant that I work at*
*one last toke before putting out the cigarette and walking away*
