Six of Crows: The Animation
Project Overview
Six of Crows: The Animation is just that. An animated version of the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. While having read the books isn't required for most roles (writers not included, for obvious reasons) but it is encouraged. This casting call is only for major characters as well as crew members, so please don't get discouraged if you aren't cast here, there will be many more of these to come.

Please be ready to stay on this project for a long time. Both books are quite long, so the animation will naturally be as well.
Writers should have read SoC, or be very familiar with the major plot points

Kaz Brekker is a major character in the SoC duology. He is ruthless and cruel, but values loyalty and has firm beliefs. As the unofficial leader of Dregs, he has never been afraid to get his hands dirty.
The easiest way to steal a man’s wallet is to tell him you’re going to steal his watch.
Suffering is like anything else. Live with it long enough, you learn to like the taste.
I would have come for you. And if I couldn't walk, I'd crawl to you, and no matter how broken we were, we'd fight our way out together-knives drawn, pistols blazing. Because that's what we do. We never stop fighting.
Inej is another major character. Dubbed 'The Wraith,' she is the best choice when you need someone to collect information unnoticed. She is very religious, but always does what she needs to survive.

Being angry at Kaz for being ruthless is like being angry at a stove for being hot. You know what he is.
The heart is an arrow. It demands aim to land true.
Jesper is a member of the Dregs and part of the main cast. He is energetic and reckless, but his gambling addiction has put him in serious debt.
“Has anyone noticed this whole city is looking for us, mad at us, or wants to kill us?"
"So?" said Kaz.
"Well, usually it's just half the city.”“You’re stupid about a lot of things, Wylan, but you are not stupid. And if I ever hear you call yourself a moron again, I’m going to tell Matthias you tried to kiss Nina. With tongue.”
Wylan wiped his nose on his sleeve. “He’ll never believe it.”
“Then I’ll tell Nina you tried to kiss Matthias. With tongue.”“Wylan,” Jesper said, giving him a little shake. “Maybe your tutors didn’t cover this lesson, but you do not argue with a man covered in blood and a knife up his sleeve.”
Nina is a former soldier in Ravka's Second Army, stranded in Ketterdam. She is flirtatious and outgoing, but also smart and extremely adept in using her Grisha powers.
You're better than waffles, Matthias Helvar.
“Political bribes?” offered Nina. They all looked at Matthias. “This is where you tell us how awful we are,” she whispered.
“The first day you showed up at my house for this proper courtship, I would have cornered you in the pantry,” she said. “But please, tell me more about Fjerdan girls.”
Matthias is a former druskelle and major character. He starts off as standoffish and and angry, but as the story progresses he learns to undo all the brainwashing of his country and becomes extremely loyal and a valuable member of the Crows.
“They fear you as I once feared you,” he said. “As you once feared me. We are all someone’s monster, Nina.”
Do not be afraid. Fear is how they control you. There's so much in the world you don't have to be afraid of, if you would only open your eyes.

Wylan is the former heir of the Van Eck family. After being disowned by his father, he begins doing demolition work for Kaz. He is very smart, but his dyslexia holds him back a lot of the time.
Why do you guys say that, anyway? No mourners, no funerals? Why not just say good luck or be safe?
“Jes, I've thought about this-"
"Thought of me? Late at night? What was I wearing?"
"I've thought about your powers," Wylan said, cheeks flushing pinker.If I spill a single drop of this, it will burn straight through the floor onto my father’s dinner guests.
