Silent Hills Machinima

Silent Hills Machinima

Project Overview

I'm a Machinima maker specializing in original as well as fan-made, game-inspired videos using GTA V and Rockstar Editor.

Silent Hill has always been a franchise I've loved so I'm currently writing and putting together footage for an original trailer based on the cancelled Silent Hills game by Kojima and Del Toro shown off in the widely played PT Demo.

There are currently three roles: One female (The Narrator) and two male (Norman Reedus' character Travis/Store Clerk).

What it will be: The project will take on the structure of a traditional cinematic game trailer rather than a full on plot-driven machinima with the ideal length of around 5 to 8 minutes.* It will feature footage from GTA V with mod enhancements made to look like cutscenes/gameplay for Silent Hills.

What I'm looking for: Anyone with a decent mic and some past experience with the Silent Hill games.

Release Date: Still up in the air at this point but I will be shooting for early September.

Here is a sample of some past work I did based on The Long Dark game and later shared by the devs themselves on social media: https://youtu.be/mZH7Ilc7Rws

That was all done on console but this current project will be put together entirely on PC with the help of mods and proper editing software to make it look as professional as possible.

I wouldn't be able to pay you, unfortunately, but your names will be added to the video as well as any links you'd like me to plug in the description for what it's worth.

*This will likely change based on the number of auditions that come (If you don't get a part but I end up liking your voice, I will find a way to write a suitable role in for you.)

This line should be read in a more somber tone, like it's the last time you'll be speaking to a loved one. What starts off as a sweet memory quickly turns to a feeling of dread when the letter trails off.

  • Remember when we were kids and we kept those grasshoppers in a jar? We used to wait till Mom and Dad were asleep before setting them loose in their bedroom. Dad would chase you down the stairs right out through the front door into the rain. I don't think I've seen you as happy since… When you read this I don't want you to be afraid. You never believed in any of her superstitions, I get that…  but there's something here that keeps calling me back. I guess I'm a lot like her in that way… Don’t come find me…Those numbers I heard that day, they're…

This character will be speaking to the main protagonist, cautioning him about where he's going. The clerk is much older (around mid-50s) and should speak with a gruff voice.

  • So you're headed to Silent Hills? Strange place... even stranger people...

This role requires your best Norman Reedus impression since the character model used is a direct rip from the P.T. (Silent Hills) teaser demo.

The scene will be Travis answering his phone at a gas station, hearing on the other end the familiar voice of his sister reminiscing about their childhood. The tone of your recording should reflect both anger and confusion at what Travis believes at first is a prank call. Line 0 is meant to be more of a demand than a question. Line 3 should be delivered with heavy emotion (almost on the verge of tears) when you realize it's her but there's something off about the way she's speaking.

  • "Who is this... "

  • "Whoever this is I don't want you calling this number again."

  • "You're... you're not my sister, you can't be... You've been missing for eight years."
