Short animated film about a mermaid (In need of mostly female voices!)

I started this new film project to help me build some more stuff for my portfolio and because I thought the story was pretty cute. I'm hoping to get some voice actors interested quite quickly because I need a read through of the lines to figure out how long the film will be. Everything is very scruffy at this point so excuse the poor/lack of art work.

17 year old girl working over summer at her aunt's cafe.

Personality: Hard-working, friendly, mature

Voice: Would prefer a natural sounding spanish/latina accent due to character's nationality. However, film is set in California so American accent would be the next best thing!

Mermaid girl walking around in a human form thanks to a magic necklace.

Personality: Goofy, excitable, curious

Voice: Any accent. Just needs to be able to act like some English words are difficult so maybe how an alien would talk? Just have fun voicing her, she's supposed to sound really weird!

Additional Voices:

Aunt Rosa (Blaire's Aunt & Cafe owner) (older female voice)

2 tourists talking at the cafe (any two voices)

Blaire's Father (older male voice)

  • Still taking auditions!

    Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your support and amazing auditions and apologies for my lack of replies.

    I've had a hectic month, I got a job in animation out of the blue which is amazing! The downside is I had to rush and move away from home very quickly, I don't have wifi at my flat yet and my time and money have been very tight.


    For these reasons I have extended the deadline til December, please do not be disheartened if you auditioned a while ago. All this means is I have time to sort myself out and listen to all of your auditions properly without any pressure. It also gives some people who asked me for an extension more time to get involved.


    In the mean time I am in an amazing full time job and spending my free time hunting pokemon... as well as working on as much of this project as possible. It might take some time but I hope to make this film great!
