Shin Megami Tensei III - Lucifer's Call / Nocturne
Project Overview
Hello,
Nine Act is a voice acting group that wants to get voice actors recognized.
Right now, we're only going to be voice acting video games that haven't got voices. The reason being is that Nine Act is a start-up group and to voice over Anime (etc.), you need a license. Even if you don't need the permission to upload your project to a form of media, production for it is quite tedious.
We'll be using YouTube as our primary source to showcase our projects as their copyrights for video games have seem to died down over the years which makes this type of project easier to finish. Any royalties made on our videos will be shared with voice actors who participate and work with us on individual projects (ask for more details). In layman's terms, you don't need to actually work IN the group in order to gain royalties for your voice.
Now that we've got the intentions out of the way, we're looking for voice actors to voice over 'Shin Megami Tensei III: Lucifer's Call (Europe). The American localized version is named 'Nocturne'.
This project will be released as a 'Cut-scene Movie'.
Once you audition for a character, please leave the make and model of your microphone so that we can pinpoint both quality and quantity of your performance (USB/Built-in microphones shouldn't really be used).

EDIT: The way that this production will work is that we'll create each section of the cutscene movie bit by bit which allows us to create it with full control. Because of this, a character will be added when we NEED a role for said character. Again, some roles need more attention than others so to get the best out of the performance, this is how we'll be working on it. We hope that it won't be a problem for you. VOCAL RANGE: MEDIUM
Hikawa is a mysterious man.
Hikawa is a man devoted to the Reason of Shijima from the very beginning and acts accordingly.
Every move he makes is calm and calculated as he swiftly moves his way towards realizing his vision of a new world.
Much like Shijima, he is utterly emotionless in his actions, using Yuko Takao as his pawn and destroying all resistance with no hesitation and minimal effort.
The only variable in his plan is the Demi-fiend; he is the only character to which Hikawa shows any hint of emotion, expressing his disgust at the previous world and his hope for a future of silence.
The actions of the Protagonist will allow him to side with Hikawa and the Reason of Shijima, if he so chooses.
"The way to salvation was foretold in the Scripture of Miroku, and today is the day that the prophecy shall be fulfilled."
[Read it as though you know what you're talking about. Explaining it as though you believe in what you're saying 100% Miroku is pronounced as: 'Mee-Roh-Kuu'. Please say it as fluently (flow) as you can without any pauses in the syllables].
"However, even a pebble creates ripples when cast in water."
[Read it as though you've been saying this quote for a very long time].
"Your time has come just a bit sooner, that’s all."
[Read it as though what you have said previously (not Line 2, just in the actual script) justifies for your current actions].
VOCAL RANGE: LOW
Kagutsuchi is an element of great importance in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. One of its purposes is something similar to the Moon Phase System in the series.
"...You, who is about to enter my world, show me your heart..."
[Read it as though you're a Deity prophesying your world].
"...you have nothing in your heart. Not even a hint of Reason."
[Read it as though you're a Deity finding a flaw in the main character].
"For the one who will shape the world, this cannot be."
[Read it as though you're a Deity that doesn't accept the current situation].
VOCAL RANGE: MEDIUM / MEDIUM-HIGH
Chiaki is an intelligent and dedicated student. She has a tendency to look down upon lazy people such as her classmate Isamu Nitta. She shows great respect towards her teacher, Ms. Yuko Takao.
"According to the report, there’s a group of demon worshippers who call themselves the Gaea cult..."
[Read it as though you're reciting information that you read from a magazine. GAEA is said as 'Guy-ya'].
"...Well, I guess it might help me kill some time."
[Read this as though you've decided to read something after all to 'kill some time'].
"If we can’t find Ms. Takao, then I don’t wanna stay here another minute."
[Read this as though the thought of staying in this place gives you chills. If you need to know how to say 'Takao', it is Tah-Kah-Oh (http://pronounce.voanews.com/browse-oneregion.php?region=Japan). Make sure to flow and not pause between pronouncing each syllable.].
VOCAL RANGE: LOW-MEDIUM
Jyoji is first confused about the events that take place. However, he is determined to find out more similar to Naoki's intentions.
He is surprisingly calm and collected in how he explains his experiences with the situation at hand.
"You wouldn't normally associate a hospital with the occult, but..."
[read this as you're calmly explaining something to the main character].
"False info is pretty common in the occult industry. If it does turn out to be wrong, just laugh it off, okay?"
[Read it in a witty, playful and joking tone but what you've said also has some truth behind it].
"My name’s Hijiri. If we ever meet again, let me know what you thought about my article."
[Read it as though you're introducing yourself. To pronounce Hijiri: 'Hee-jee-ree'. This is actually the hardest to pronounce correctly but as long as you pronounce the 'in between' names or 'kana' fluently (flow) without any weird pauses, It'll sound natural enough. Good luck~].
VOCAL RANGE: MEDIUM
(Character is shown as a senior and as an adult so you'll need to play both parts).
She has thorough knowledge of many things relating to the Vortex World of Nocturne.
She interacts on behalf of the Old Man and the Young Boy, serving as his mouthpiece for all but the most important moments.
She also interacts with the Demi-Fiend through the Peep holes of the Labyrinth of Amala, communicating with him to expand his knowledge of the Vortex World, and offering him a place in the legions of chaos, should he desire it, by reaching into the Fifth Kalpa and accepting her master's blessing.
"What’s wrong, my little master? Are you wondering about that person over there?"
[Read it as though you're patronizing a child a little bit. Do not exaggerate the patronizing tone as the child is similar to the Devil so it has to sound 'fake'. As though the patronizing tone is just a ruse or a 'front'].
"...It is my honour to tell you that my little master has shown an interest in you."
[Read it as though you're patronizing the main character this time. Remember to give the tone a 'front'].
"Poor human, he wants to give you a special gift."
[Read it as though you're patronizing the main character once again. Keep the 'ruse' up].
(This role needs a male voice that could deliver three vocal ranges; Child, Adult, Old man/Demonic).
VOCAL RANGE: LOW-MEDIUM/MEDIUM-HIGH
Louis Cyphre presents the demeanour of a streetwise and charismatic gentleman, but in reality is an avatar of Lucifer, with characteristic mismatched red and blue eyes.
He is a reliable source for inside information typically found among other nondescript characters in equally nondescript locales.
While reliable, he does not give the information freely, as he shows a penchant for riddles.
"...This will make you a demon..."
[Read it in a Child's voice. He is an avatar of Lucifer, so keeping his characteristics in mind, give this line a Child's voice but if Lucifer was a child."
"...We shall meet again...soon..."
[Read it as an Old Lucifer (devil)]."
"...your strength...is outstanding..."
[Read it as an Old Lucifer (devil)]."
VOCAL RANGE: MEDIUM
Beneath her outwardly confident and optimistic attitude lies a jaded soul who is tired of how the people in the world are nowadays: No one takes responsibility for the world's problems, the passion for life was lost in the fast pace of modernization, and individuals who have the drive to compete and become strong are all but gone.
Her purpose is to create a world with meaning brought back to people's lives, and sees the Conception as the only way to make it happen.
Even with such feelings, Yuko still could not bring herself to knowingly kill everyone.
"...A world that loses its power will fade away into nothingness."
[Read it as though you're explaining something that means 'the world to you'].
"...that is the only way to salvation, as recorded in an ancient prophecy."

"I see, so your name is Naoki Kashima..."
[Read it as though you've recognized that his name is Naoki Kashima. In order to pronounce Naoki Kashima: 'Nah-Oh-Kee' 'Kah-Shee-Mah'. Please pronounce it fluently (flow) and don't pause in between syllables].
VOICE RANGE: MEDIUM
(We are using his preferred name from the Drama CD).
A normal High School boy who turns into a demon during the game.
He knows absolutely nothing at the beginning of the story, but begins to understand more as he journeys through 'The New World'.
Naoki is a determined, caring student. He can not stand back and watch the people he holds dear suffer. He is relatively naive but trusting, this is taken advantage of by Jyoji Hijiri to act as an errand boy.
Naoki is desperate to gain more information about the New World that he's been sucked into. He will not stop until he gets it.

[read it as though you have no idea what is going on around you. You are asking a person this question].

[ Read it as though you're with your friends and they have asked to see a book you're holding. You can read this line as either 'calm' or somewhat 'witty'].

Isamu Nitta exhibits a whiny nature mixed with constant bouts of cockiness. Initially, he gives the impression of a lazy and scared individual. He is also very fond of Ms. Yuko Takao, his teacher.
"Dude! You scared the crap outta me, Naoki! Why’d you startle me like that?!"
[Read it as though someone has come from behind and scared you. Pronounce Naoki as 'Nah-Oh-Kee'. Make sure to flow and not pause when pronouncing the syllables].
"She’s probably all mad at me ‘cuz I’ve been gone so long...*sigh* it’s hard to please a girl with her upbringing."
[You can read this in either tone; witty, cocky or sassy].
"I really hope that this is nothing we should be worried about..."
[Read it as though the situation has frightened you a little but you don't want to show the emotion].
