Selective Dissonance: The era of Sandra (Season 1 Episode 5-7)
Project Overview
Interested in experiencing horror from a different perspective? This podcast looks at horror through the lens of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities and thrives to give you original scares birthed through everyday experiences that may be sources of fear for those of us within those communities. This is a project put on by people who have had experience in the entertainment industry and wanted to do something creative during trying times. You do not have to have been published or in a well known project with millions of listeners, but you do have to have a professional attitude and willingness to deliver work on time.
We also ask that anyone who signs on with the project, be willing to participate in patreon interviews where we will discuss everything from what made us passionate about horror, to why representation in entertainment and media is important, as well as participating in an online table read before recording so that all actors and the directors are on the same page when we go to record.
When submitting please include a way for us to contact you, so that you don't miss out on being cast. Production will reach out via your preferred form of contact, and once a role has been accepted we will cast you on CCC.

Lauren is a 16-17 year old high school student. She is quiet, friendly, and likes to keep to herself, but she can get easily frustrated. Ever since coming out, she has been ostracized by many of her peers. In gym class in particular, she feels like she is being judged for her every action and has to take special care not to seem as though she’s objectifying her classmates. The social anxiety she faces around her peers gets even worse when she starts to hear strange noises in the school’s shower room.
Dear diary,
It’s weird to think that back in middle school I actually liked gym class. Ever since I started high school it’s become the worst part of my week. I spend my mornings trying to figure out a way out of it, but I can only use the “I’m on my period” excuse so many times.
Stephanie spent the rest of the day holding her nose whenever I walked past her and telling everyone I don’t shower. It’s like I can’t win! If I try to get a shower like everyone else, I’m apparently a pervert. If I don’t, I’m a pig. And she’ll never let me forget it
I could still hear the breathing. It grew louder than all the scuffling and squealing outside the shower. All the girls yelling across stalls about weekend plans and boyfriends and exes. It wasn’t coming from any of them. It wasn’t coming from outside my stall. I could feel it too, like a vacuum sucking the breath from my lungs. Stepping out of that stall was a relief. But even when I looked back at the entrance to the shower room, I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling in my gut.

Rosamie grew up in the Philippines. When she was 26, she moved to the UK to escape from her abusive ex boyfriend turned stalker. She works at a big chain cafe. Her best friend is Michaela, who she met shortly after moving. Rosamie tends to be a shy, cautious person due to her past experiences. She loves to dance and sing with her friends, but finds it hard to fully let loose in the company of strangers.
He got me a drink, but I didn’t see him buy it. So I don’t know what was in it. When I said “no thanks”, he got really persistent. Not really aggressive… but he wasn’t backing down.
Michaela- I’m starting to get really freaked out. The taxi driver just took a wrong turn. What if he’s not taking me home?
I can’t move again, Michaela. I can’t go through that again. It nearly ruined my life. I spent entire weeks hiding inside my house, with all the curtains shut and the lights switched off so he wouldn’t know I was home.

She strives to protect her friends but can get frustrated when she feels they’re being irrational or paranoid.
The queue at the bar was insane. It took me nearly fifteen minutes to get served. And they got my order wrong.
He’s probably one of those “nice guys” who think buying you shit means you owe them something.

Yolanda grew up in a small, religious community with a loving but overbearing family. Wanting to break away and follow her own path, she moved to England to attend university. While there, she met and started dating fellow classmate Andrew (Drew). It wasn’t until two years later, when she met freshman Aisling, that Yolanda realized she was attracted to women. She’s unsure if she is exclusively a lesbian or if she simply prefers women, and is still discovering her sexuality.
She broke up with Drew and started dating Aisling. When Aisling graduated from university, she moved into Yolanda’s apartment.
Yolanda has mild claustrophobia which she keeps a secret from her loved ones.

He didn’t exactly take it well when I said I was bi - or gay, I don’t know. I wasn’t sure at the time. The asshole told me to “pick a side”. Said I was “confused”. I haven’t talked to him since the breakup, even though he kept texting me for a month after that.
She really wanted me to come. It was important to her, to make me a part of her friend group. I’m just not used to that kind of thing… She’s the first girl I’ve ever dated. I didn’t even know I liked women until I met her…

When his friend Ollie invites him on a glamping trip with his girlfriend Joanne and Aisling (who Drew immediately realizes is Yolanda’s new girlfriend), he jumps at the opportunity to go.
He will do anything possible to get back at Yolanda for “leading him on”, “humiliating him” and “wasting his college years”. Even if that means harming his own friends to get to Aisling.

We had four students stay in that pod a couple of weeks ago. Police came sniffing ‘round a few days later. Said they never went home.
Business has taken a hit since those kids went missing. I’ve already had a few cancellations. Having the cops around doesn’t bode well for the hippie types.
