Project Overview
SEASONS: A SIMS 2 MINISERIES
WELCOME to the casting call for Seasons, a miniseries based on the popular manga/anime “Doukyuusei” (also known as “Classmates). Seasons follows the protagonists, Haru and Mei, two girls who fall in love and how they navigate this relationship and the obstacles that come with it. Seasons also deals with friendships, heartbreak, and school-related issues. The RATING for this series is 15+ due to minor swearing and sexual references. The MAIN CHARACTERS, Haru and Mei, are involved with each other and as the series goes on they do talk about sex. Their conversations are never explicit but it’s advised that you only audition for them if you’re comfortable.
The DEADLINE for this series is now SEPTEMBER 15th. This may be extended.
RULES:
Please only audition if you have the time. Although it is currently a miniseries, I have a lot of ideas for Seasons and later down along the line I may be interested in bringing out another season (no pun intended). So I’d love to have a dedicated, committed cast.
Show emotion in your audition. Have fun! Play around with different tones.
A clear microphone is preferred but I understand that shit is expensive. So overall, please try to avoid static and excess background noises.
Communicate efficiently. I understand that things come up so if you find that you need an extension or unexpectedly have to drop out, please just let me know. Don’t ghost.

Medium Tone. A laidback teenager who doesn’t take life too seriously. She goes with the flow and usually acts on impulse. Most problems that make other people shake are taken in stride by her. Her casual and informal approach to most things make her seem a little brash.
Mei… [There’s some mirth in Haru’s tone, like she’s trying to hold back a smile but can’t.] Can you really not see the chalkboard? Or do you just not know how to read the scores?
[worried, slightly rushed] Where’d you go?! I was so worried! I thought something happened to you! It’s dangerous to just wander off by yourself, don't you know that! [pauses, calming down] Jeez… don’t ever scare me like that again. Are you okay?
[upset] So what? You were just going to let this… to let us die out? Like it was nothing? Were you just waiting for the end of the year so you wouldn’t have to deal with ending things? Do you even want to make this work?
Medium-High Tone. The top student at an all girl’s school. Mei has always had high expectations put on her to be the best and already has her path set out. She’s quiet and a little awkward. She over-thinks and this often leads to her not expressing herself as she’d like to. Still, once she’s comfortable it’s clear that she’s a sweet, sensitive girl who’s timid and unsure of herself.
[uncomfortable, stuttering and pausing] Um… here. I bought you this because I saw you looking at it in the store and I figured you liked it. I… I wanted to say thank you. F-for helping me… I’m sorry.
[sad, near tears] No! That’s not what I meant. You don’t get it at all. I wanted you to know. I wanted to tell you, I just… I didn’t know how.
Oh, it’s okay. I wouldn’t want to worry our teacher with that sort of thing.
Low Tone. A friend of Haru’s who happens to be in the same homeroom. Rin is level-headed, easygoing, and also very intelligent. She’s the most observant of the bunch and the first of Haru’s friends to pick up on the fact that she’s been spending a lot of time with Mei. Very warm and maternal.
You’ve been hanging out with Mei a lot recently.
[protective, authoritative but even-toned] Kiyoko… back off. Haru doesn’t owe you any sort of explanation. She’s allowed to have other friends.
Medium-High Tone. Haru’s closest friend who’s in another homeroom. They’ve known each other since they were kids and tell each other almost everything. Sana is clever, fun-loving, and loyal.
Haru! You were late to practice today, so dinner’s on you, riiiiiight?
[disappointed, sad] I guess I just don’t understand… why wouldn’t you tell me? We tell eachother everything. Did you think I would judge you?
Medium-High/Medium Tone. Another one of Haru’s friends. Kiyoko is a pretty girl who loves attention. She’s very popular and flirty with a lot of high goals. She can get a little hot-headed, and is as feisty as she is confident.
[enthusiastic] Let’s get some lobster and steak tonight, ladies. With a bottle of champagne to top it off. I’m feeling fancy!
[judgemental, harsh] I don’t see the appeal at all. I mean, she wears her hair in the same boring style every day, whenever we hang out she just stays by herself in the corner, and she’s practically mute! She’s like a walking robot.
Low Tone. A bandmate and friend of Haru’s. The band’s vocalist (but the voice actress doesn’t need to be able to sing). Aya is cool and collected. Mysterious and aloof, she eventually becomes a bit of a mentor to Haru. Ended up joining their band as a vocalist when they met her through Kiyoko’s older sister.
You don’t have to take anyone’s bullshit, y’know. If people are giving you a hard time, just let ‘em go.
Homeroom teacher.
We’ll be performing a song at the Fall gala this year and I want everyone to start practicing now. I’ve placed the music sheets on your desks already.
