SoundsofHarmony for Mei
Medium-High Tone. The top student at an all girl’s school. Mei has always had high expectations put on her to be the best and already has her path set out. She’s quiet and a little awkward. She over-thinks and this often leads to her not expressing herself as she’d like to. Still, once she’s comfortable it’s clear that she’s a sweet, sensitive girl who’s timid and unsure of herself.
[uncomfortable, stuttering and pausing] Um… here. I bought you this because I saw you looking at it in the store and I figured you liked it. I… I wanted to say thank you. F-for helping me… I’m sorry.
[sad, near tears] No! That’s not what I meant. You don’t get it at all. I wanted you to know. I wanted to tell you, I just… I didn’t know how.
Oh, it’s okay. I wouldn’t want to worry our teacher with that sort of thing.
I appreciate the many takes you did! The emotion was good but I would've liked to hear a *slightly* slower version of the second line. Thanks for taking the time out to audition!
