Riptide: Episode 3 Casting Call (Animated Series)
Project Overview
Intro:
Hello all! I’m Sophia, the director and animator of the animated series “Riptide”, on YouTube! I’m here looking for voice talents for episode 3 of my show. Let’s get into it!
Synapsis:Riptide is a PG-13 indie animated series. The show revolves around the lives of Wren, Owen, Stella, Kai, and Violet; 5 adolescents trying to figure out their feelings toward each other and the world around them. The show begins as a comedic, slice-of-life story, but quickly progresses into a serious, action-packed drama as new faces threaten the peace and safety of our main characters, and once strong bonds of trust are broken. The overall vibe of the show is light-hearted, feel-good, silly, and relatable as well as episodic and dramatic. The show takes place in the early 2010’s with themes of: Identity (including neurodivergency and culture), love (including LGBTQIA+), courage, friendship, family, and many more!
When Auditioning:You MUST be 16+ to audition and be apart of the project.
You MUST have Discord and include it in the description portion of your audition. If not, your audition will be SKIPPED.
Record your audition in AABBCC format.
Medium to high mic quality with little to no background noise.
Introductions are encouraged but not mandatory; Please include this in the description portion of your audition if you decide to do so.
Adding additional improv to your audition is encouraged but not mandatory. If you decide to do so, please do so after reading the provided lines first.
Have fun!
You must abide by the deadlines given to submit your lines. For each episode, voice actors are given 2 weeks to send in their lines after receiving the script. An additional week is granted if needed.
You must be open to possible line retakes and constructive criticism of your lines.
This is a long-term project. If you are unsure or doubt your ability to commit to something like this, please avoid auditioning.
Leaking/sharing of the script is strictly prohibited and will result in your permanent removal from the project.
Riptide is generally a PG-13 show, however some episodes contain more mature topics and themes.
Some characters do use vulgarity, please ask before auditioning if this is an issue.
If deadlines are abided by, new episodes should be released every 3-4 months.
If a voice actor refuses to communicate or "ghost" me, they will be replaced promptly in order to keep production of the episode rolling.
Voice actors are expected to communicate and converse with other members of the team respectfully and maturely to create a warm, friendly environment to the team.
Once the episode is completed, voice actors will be noted in the episode credits and a link to one of your social media platforms in the video description.
Voice actors will not be paid, as this is a volunteer project.

She’s positive, bright, upbeat and encouraging. However, Delilah can be very stern and assertive when she’s upset. She can also be silly, quirky, as well as random and oblivious, similar to her daughter, Mira.
I’m looking for someone who sounds: Mature, gentle, upbeat, reassuring, and gentle. But can also be serious and stern when need be. As well as silly, and quirky.

Terran is Owen and Mira’s dad! He’s in his early 40’s. He's kind, positive, and engaging. He's curious, and somewhat noisy. Similarly to Owen, he's artistic and creative. He's empathetic, understanding, laid-back and nonchalant. He's playful, funny, outgoing, energetic, confident and loving. However, Terran can be stern and assertive when he needs to be. He is also incredibly protective of his family.
I’m looking for someone who sounds: Mature, confident, energetic, bright, silly, stern, and has an assertive, strong voice.

Jack is an antagonist in his mid 20’s. He’s honeyed, deceitful, untrustworthy, animated, loud, giggly, hysterical, lazy, nonchalant, manipulative, and emotional. He talks a lot of crap, but in reality he’s pretty helpless. Jack is also clingy, talkative, and funny with the people he trusts. He's also very flirtatious and romantic towards men he's interested in. He works alongside Ace and Damian.
I’m looking for someone who sounds: Mature, animated, loud, whiny, emotional, flirty and somewhat flamboyant.

Ace is usually the level-headed person who tries to de-escalate confrontation, but he isn't afraid to get his hands messy if needed. He is protective, helpful, wise, playful, and gentle with the people he trusts. He works alongside Jack and Damian.
I’m looking for someone who sounds: Mature, intimidating, has a deep, strong voice. Assertive and authoritative, and irritable.

He’s very quiet, and the most level-headed of the three. Damian’s the type of person to make you feel stupid or small for making a simple, innocent mistake. He’s very observant and intelligent, but he’s very mysterious. He works alongside Jack and Ace.

He wants to protect people, but he wants to protect his public image even more. Even though he can fall short in his duties, he always tries his best. Overall, Endrick's a pretty goofy and silly character. He works alongside Heather.
I’m looking for someone who sounds: Mature, energetic, upbeat, bright, silly, childish, as well as haughty, demeaning, nonchalant, and passive.
