Project Overview
WHO ARE WE?
Rift Point Productions is an amateur organization utilizing discord that attempts to take popular shows such as Star Trek and Doctor Who, and create our own audio spin-offs. With our unique storylines and dedicated team behind these productions, we aim to expand the universes in which these shows take place. We run our operations entirely off of volunteers, so although we wish we could pay our hardworking team, it is currently beyond our ability to do so.
What is our project?
Our current project is Renewal: A Star Trek Fan Production, which follows the crew of the ship Resurgence adhering to the Star Trek Online timeline. It features a diverse cast, promising around 8-12 episodes per season. Follow Admiral Ownsby and his determined crew as they venture out in the name of exploration!
How can I help?
We are currently looking for actors and actresses to fill the roles for our side project: Addendums! This will be the first story Caregiver!
Requirements:
-Recording quality must be clear with little background noise.
-Once assigned to a role, please stay in touch with staff in case you are needed for private practice sessions!
-If inactive at any time during the duration of the project, you will be warned, and if you continue to be inactive, it will result in your role being replaced.
-We use Discord as our main platform, so you must have an account to continue to participate and access the scripts and other information.
-Be respectful to everyone! We all are volunteers who utilize our talents and passions to ultimately benefit the project, so be mindful of what you say!
-Above all else, be PROACTIVE! Ask voice actors to join you for practice sessions, ask for critique, provide ideas for Rift Point, and communicate in general! It's meant to be a community for those who join the Rift family, not a job!

Human - Jason is, sounds, and behaves like a loving, caring, but overprotective individual and likes things a certain way. He speaks very pleasantly to his family, as he loves them, but he also makes it clear that he prefers staying closer to home and hobbies at home ever since losing an arm in the service. He speaks very enthusiastically about his hobbies/projects with a gentleness/tenderness in his voice that shows he sees them as additional children. He generally has a warm tone, however, but does get firm in his tone when his children need to learn something or are acting ignorantly.

gentle) Easy, you cute little bees. I’m just smoking you out so I can take your honeycomb and make food with it. (sighs) I didn't realize how enjoyable this actually was until I started doing it myself…
(mad) Jaron has to eat, Anders, same as we do! I asked you to let me handle things for your mother and I, but you're acting like we're your crew and you have to take responsibility for us! We're grown adults and we are perfectly capable of taking responsibility for ourselves!
(kind) I hope you care enough about yourself to let your crew help you live up to yours when you go out on the Highland. You tend to care so much about others and their potential that you tend to ignore your own. I know a Captain has to be concerned with the growth of their crew and wellness of their ship, but not at the expense of themselves. So please, Anders, when you go back to the Highland, remember to care about yourself as much as you care about everyone else...all right?
Human - She is a nurturing wife and mother who generally has a very gentle, loving, nurturing tone of voice, but also gets worried easily in situations that are not familiar to her - ie: the market when Elias asks for currency. She is also not afraid to be a little firm and teacher-like with her husband/children when they act or speak ignorantly - ie: when Ownsby is questioning his father's hobbies and lack of support. In that part of the script, she is protective of her husband and his lived experiences and wants to get across that Ownsby is being ignorant, but also wants to emphasize that she still loves him.

(scoffs, amused) He'll think you're going to put your career on the line for him and he'll get upset, Anders.
(solemn) It's been several months, Anders. Replicated food...it's not as nice as homegrown and we're both retired. We need something to do. Your father didn't tell you because he didn't want you to stop your training and rush back to take care of us because you'd think we would need extra attention. And he knew you would have done exactly that. You're such a good son...but a little too good sometimes.
(concerned) Your father may be disabled and retired from Starfleet, Anders, but he is fortunate enough to have enough to take care of both of us. We also have enough to help those who have very little...individuals like Elias Jaron who we consider friends. It's called helping those who struggle to help themselves, Anders. That's something else you'll need to learn as you grow as a Captain.
Human - Very much like Commander Charles 'Trip' Tucker from Enterprise without the drawl. Youthful, boyish, and eager to serve in Starfleet to the best of his ability like his father and brother before him. He respects and loves his family immensely, but also wants to impress his father and brother by serving well in the Fleet. His tone of voice is eager, but professional, and loving towards his family.

(pleased) Hey there, big brother!
(eager) I just finished with a shakedown cruise of my own on the Cougar and we all get some leave while Command reviews our C.O. and everyone else.
If I end up needing a change, Anders, I'll let you know. Just keep a space for me if you can.
Any species - His voice is like an older version of Jonathan Archer. He makes it clear in his tone of voice when addressing others that he is an Admiral, but he is not a stern, bossy sort who dominates with an iron fist. His tone is always firm when he speaks and he gets right to the point. His tone is also encouraging, especially to Ownsby because he sees a lot of potential in him, but he also sees that Ownsby is not as patient as he should be and is not afraid to gently, but firmly rein him in when Ownsby needs it.

(amused) This isn’t a formal inquiry. This is just a debriefing on how your shakedown with the Highland went. It’s your first job as Captain and we at Starfleet want to make sure you did all right.
we’ll also be talking to your crew about how they got along with you and how you managed in the big chair. We just can’t rely on the logs to determine whether or not you’re a good fit for the Highland.
Go do something productive and I’ll reach out when our review is complete. Dismissed, Captain.
Cardassian - Slightly sassy in the Cardassian fashion. He is a middle-aged male who acts as if he is coming on to Ownsby (think of how Cardassians flirt) when in discussion with him. He also has a great respect for Ownsby's parents, but has to keep his guard up and sound professional while working at the market so he isn't steamrolled by others who hate his presence there and on Earth. He may come off as ornery at times, but he is truly a good individual and just trying to cope with living on Earth and dealing with anti-Cardassian sentiments as best he can. Sounds professional with a 'seller' tone of voice in the marketplace scenes (like Garak when he ran his shop on DS9) but takes on a more open, less formal type of voice during the scenes with the Ownsbys except when he is coming on to Ownsby - make it sound like Cardassian flirting.

(scoffs) Key words. Used to be. (sighs) If you're too poor for the seeds and the starters, Mrs. Ownsby, put them back where you found them, please. I'll shoot you if you try to steal.
(amused) Even if I asked. Even if Cardassia said yes. Earth, Starfleet, and the Federation would say no because they have not yet forgiven my people for our part of the Dominion War.
(amused, play mocking) You're a Starfleet Captain, hmm? You seem a little young for that. How old are you? 25?
