Re: Disbanded | A Talent Show Of Terror Side Story (Youtube Series)
Project Overview
Please read the full description.
Hi! I’m Bearpuff4, but I’m known on YouTube as Rylie-Nicole studios. I run a small, children’s entertainment channel with around 12,000 subscribers.
My content is based around creating short stories and small web series. This is a casting call for a 1 episode side story to the current running series on my channel, Talent Show of Terror, which I had put up a casting call for back in October of 2019.
You can view the series and my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRGR-xFmCuK2i5h7l2QugwI1jBXBghtXE
This story contains minor swearing and deals with topics such as violence, death, and mental illness. If you are uncomfortable with such things, please do not audition.
How long is this series?
This series is only one episode long. The script will be completed by the time the deadline arrives, so you will receive it immediately after, and the entire project will be completed within a month of casting.
Will you be giving feedback?
If you would like feedback on your audition, please PM me on CCC, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I won’t respond to the description of your audition.
Please PM me on CCC or Discord for any further questions: Bearpuff4#1582.
What are the requirements to audition?
1. Have a discord account . Discord is the main source of communication for all of my projects, including this one! If you are cast, I will message you the server on discord, so feel free to leave that below, or PM it to me!
2. You must be above the age of 13. 14+ I personally have had negative experiences in the past with children’s work ethic/responsibilities in the past, so I do have this age requirement. Please understand that there will be no acceptions to this rule whatsoever.
3. Be responsible. Communication is important. This should be self explanatory, but very few people have been able to accomplish this. If you are for whatever reason unable to submit your lines by the deadline: Tell me yourself. I am not responsible for your VA work. I expect you to be committed, and have time for this project, considering it is quite short.
4. Have a good quality microphone. I won’t list a specific type of microphone, but please don’t use mics from headphones, and please, no .m4a. If you're getting a new mic, wait until it's set up, and record your audition in the highest quality you can. If you can make a blue yeti sound like an XLR mic, go for it!
5. Please read every line for the character you're auditioning for at least 2 times. I want to test your acting ability, and see how you are able to portray lines with different inflections.
6. It is recommended that you have previous voice acting experience. This is NOT a requirement, simply a preference of mine, since I am on a time crunch. If you’re new to the scene and confident in your abilities, I’d love to hear what you’ve got!
7. Respect the team, and your fellow VAs. Straightforward. If you are unable to accomplish this, it is unnecessary for you to even audition.
8.. Have fun! I know I seem very serious in these casting calls, but that is simply due to professionalism in business inquires. If you are cast, I look forward to working with you!
You may audition for multiple characters. Characters are listen in order of appearance, not relevance.

Deadline has been pushed back
The deadline has been pushed back a week due to the lack of auditions. Thank you for understanding!
Henry is the older brother of Sarah. He’s very laid back, to the point he could almost be referred to as careless. When it counts, he is able to step up and stand up for what he feels is right, but he is typically rather lazy and sarcastic, which often results in fights with his sister.
Pitch: Medium-Low. Henry should sound as though he has a relaxed and upbeat attitude.
(Calm, but visibly frustrated.)
“Hey, you need to chill out. There’s no way that’s true. Your friends probably just kept it from you to avoid ruining the show.”
(Joking manner, almost taunting.)
“Haha, okay. Whatever you say.”
(Alarmed, finally letting reality sink in.)
“Hey, hang on, are you- actually serious?!”
(Consoling his sister, while still dealing with his own personal concerns.)
“Hey, it’ll be alright...I believe you now, okay? So calm down, please.”
Himiko is a member in Sarah’s band, as well as her best friend. Himiko has a very relaxed, but also empathetic personality, and she balances out well with Sarah. Himiko often keeps her problems and opinions to herself, but will always step in when her friends need her.
Pitch: Medium-Low. Himiko should sound Level-headed, but also friendly and caring.
(Angry at her friend for constantly being down on herself.)
“Okay, that’s enough. You’re still acting like this! You need to stop blaming yourself for what’s happening!
(Cheerful and relaxed.)
“Hey, while I’m at it, why don’t you come over after school? We can chill. Do our homework and stuff.”
(Panicked/Alarmed. Out of breath.)
“S-Sarah! I need to talk to you, NOW. T-that show that Mina and Noelle are in? I have a reason to believe that the TV company isn’t behind it at all!”
(Teasing and Sarcastic.)
“Ew, so early in the morning? Can’t relate. Online school is so much easier, you really have to try it.”
Bryson is a close friend/romantic interest of Mina’s. He does not get along well with Sarah, due to her believing that he does not have Mina’s best interests at heart. He is very caring, but can also get defensive quickly. He is known to blurt out offensive or ridiculous statements on impulse.
Pitch: Medium. Bryson is quite expressive, and it should show in his reactions.
(Uncomfortable and embarrassed after being accused of believing something unlikely.)
“Wh-What?! No! What kind of a loser would believe something like that?! I was just- surprised is all...”
(Completely panicked, angry and sad all at once.)
“You don’t understand-! Shelby, that girl on the broadcast, is dead! She...she can’t be! She w-was-! Nghhh....How dare they!!”
(Sad and vulnerable. Admitting why he has been acting so strange.)
“I can’t believe I’m saying this...but I think you were right about everything. But, if that’s true...then Mina...she could die! I can’t let that happen, Sarah!”
Maddie is a bubbly, moody, and quirky teenage girl. She acts dumb and constantly makes weird faces at people, but is actually very intellectual and inquisitive. She’s a student hoping to start a band with her best friend, Claire.
Pitch: Medium-High to High. Maddie is very expressive, almost exaggerated, and easily excited.
(Frustrated And Shocked by her friend’s rude behavior.)
“What you did to her was wrong, Claire! She had even offered to help us!”
(Anxious about revealing the truth of her friend. Disappointed, but trying to hide it.)
“W-well...Sarah did raise her voice first, but only after Claire had insulted her friend...And Sarah didn’t say anything nearly as hurtful as what Claire said...”
(Trying to explain Claire’s inappropriate behavior, but does such very awkwardly.)
“Aha, ya know...she’s just...I promise you, she’s a really nice person! Although me having to reassure you probably isn’t helping my case...But-! She’s um...she’s-! Oh, I give up.”
(Excited and relieved.)
“Oh my gosh, really?! Thanks lol! That’s totally awesome, you’re such a broski!”
Claire is a close friend of Maddie’s, also looking to become a musician in a successful band. However, she takes a different approach towards people, and will not hesitate to guilt people into giving her what she wants. She is very weak and insecure, and quickly degrades other people to protect herself.
Pitch: Medium-High. Claire should sound soothing/mischievous, as though she’s holding something back, and/or hiding something.
(Snarky/Mischievous. Trying to pass off her behavior as a joke.)
“Are you sure it’s that you’re not interested, or is it just that you’re a loyal friend? I mean...it seems as though those other girls are just holding you back! To me at least.”
(Trying to play innocent. Sweet and vulnerable.)
“Oh, I’m so sorry sir! We tried asking Sarah politely, but she got defensive! I understood at first because it was a touchy subject for her, but then she insulted me! What else could I have done?”
(Admitting defeat. Genuinely sorry and ashamed.)
“Look, I’m sorry, Okay? I...can’t help the way I am sometimes. I know that sounds like a dumb excuse, but hear me out-! When certain things don’t go my way, I’m filled with an overwhelming level of anxiety, and I don’t know how to cope. But, I am really, really sorry.”
Mr. Edwards is the school principal. He is very serious, dignified, and cutthroat. He does not take lightly to funny business or harassment, and will make that very clear to whomever he finds partaking in it.
Pitch: Low. He constantly sounds irritable and tired after a long day of work.
(Irritated, and not in the mood to deal with his students’ funny business.)
“Enough! I don’t care what you were just doing. You’ll be explaining this to me in my office, all three of you.”
(Interrogative. Trying to understand the situation.)
“Madison, you have yet to say anything about this matter. Do you care to explain your side of the story?”
(Surrendering, and trying to be an understanding principal.)
“Due to the library being empty, and the fact that none of you were skipping class, I will let you all off with a warning. But mark my words, this type of behavior will not be tolerated in the future, understand?
Jitsuko is the younger sister of Himiko. She only appears in one scene. Jitsuko is shy, awkward, and hesitant, but she’s also very sweet and caring.
Pitch: High. Jitsuko is a child, so she should sound rather youthful, while still remaining worrisome.
(Timid. Nervously approaching her sister, and becoming frightened upon realizing she is busy.)
“H-Hey, big sis, can you-
Wah, sorry! I-I didn’t realize you had company!”
(Trying to calm down. Polite.)
“Come on Hanna, w-we can just go ask mommy.”
(Cheerful and hopeful.)
“Yeah, me too!”
Mrs. Himada is the mother of Hanna and Mina. She is not very kind, nor understanding towards her children. She is very stern and disciplinary, even to the point of it being unnecessary or absurd.
Pitch: Medium-Low. She should come off as an intimidating, business-type woman in her mid to late 40s.
(Harsh/Scolding tone.)
“Hanna, what are you doing? I told you to wait outside. Go do as I say.”
(Surrendering, but visibly irritable.)
“You may have 5 minutes, not a second longer. Do you understand me? If you fail to adhere to this, there will be consequences.”
(Not even trying to hide her utter disdain.)
“Would you get that nonsense out of your head?! Your sister is not going to die, Hanna. I thought I’d taught you better than to believe such falsities.”
