Project Overview
INTRODUCTION:
Hello, everyone; I'm back with yet another Casting Call for a Sonic comic! And this one is arguably the biggest project the team will be tackling yet! We’re going to be covering over 35 issues of the Archie Sonic reboot series. This is a project that at one point I wouldn’t have even considered possible, but after the success of the IDW Dub series on the channel, I’m confident we can do it. This is going to be a long-term project! It’s a lot to cover and a whole lot of characters. Please only audition if you’re interested in being around for the long haul, and thank you!
Also please read those guidelines guys! I hate when I have to dismiss auditions from talented VAs just because they didn’t pay attention to ‘em!

THE STORY:
Sonic and Tails have returned to a world which is reeling from the cataclysmic effects of the Eggman/Wily genesis wave! The damage was severe, the threats have changed, and the mysteries are piling up! When the world splits into pieces as a result of the genesis wave, it’s up to the blue blur and the Freedom Fighters to set things right!

GUIDELINES:
Your audition must have solid audio quality with little to no background noise. If it has noticeable background noise, it will not be considered and will be immediately dismissed.
Meeting deadlines is important, but communicate with me if you cannot meet said deadline! We can work things out as long as there is communication.
Communication is key! If I can't get in touch with you after long periods of time consistently, then I will be forced to let someone else take the role.

Knowledge of the comics isn't a requirement, but it could help! Especially for the original Archie characters!
Occasionally, I may ask if we can get into a call to do lines with some live directing. This will not happen for every single batch of lines, but you can expect it to happen occasionally, especially if you're part of the main cast.
Please provide at least 2 takes per character! Preferably in AABBCC format.
If you choose to add an effect to your audition, leave in the unedited takes as well.

CHARACTER DESC:
Sally is strong-minded and very opinionated. She is often logical and focused and prefers to plan ahead in almost all situations, though she also has a playful side and sometimes makes jokes. She often takes the role of a leader, not only in directing and organizing people en masse but also through mediation and offering suggestions or compromises to difficult situations.
VOICE NOTES:
Sally's voice should sound clear, articulate, and naturally authoritative without being harsh. She carries herself with the poise of a princess and military strategist, balancing warmth and compassion with determination and resolve. The performance should be able to portray someone who can command a room during a crisis, inspire allies, and still show vulnerability in quieter emotional moments.

CHARACTER DESC:
Mighty is a laid-back and heroic individual who wants to help everyone he can, much like Sonic. However, Mighty's great strength is a source of some paranoia, as he is afraid of losing control and hurting someone. This provides him with something of a temper, which grows more prevalent when he feels helpless. Like Sonic, he tends to take more upon himself than is sensible, though he also appears to possess a high sense of decorum.
VOICE NOTES:
Might should sound confident and dependable. I'm very open to interpetation when it comes to Mighty's voice. I sometimes hear him with a Brooklyn or Boston accent while reading, so if you want to attempt that for one of your takes go for it!

CHARACTER DESC:
Nicole is an artificial intelligence created by Dr.Ellidy who was entrusted to Sally Acorn as a portable hand-held computer and has since become both Sally's loyal friend and a trusted member of the Freedom Fighters.
VOICE NOTES:
Nicole should sound intelligent, composed, and highly analytical, with exceptional clarity in her speech. However she should never sound emotionless, it's what make her different from your average ai character like this. Try to avoid a robotic monotone performance, and allow there to be a clear sense of emotion driving her beneath her analytical exterior! Very open to interpretations of her voice.

CHARACTER DESC:
Rotor is a mobian walrus and was a key member of the Knothole Freedom Fighters, using his skills and knowledge of technology and mechanics to provide the Mobians with an edge against the former despot Dr. Ivo Robotnik.

CHARACTER DESC:
Antoine is an English/French-speaking mobian coyote, and a faithful and longtime member of the Freedom Fighters, serving as a part of the Team Fighters subdivision. He also is a skilled swordsman, as well as an active pilot.
VOICE NOTES:
Antoine should sound charismatic, expressive, and sincere, with the capability to get goofy for line-reads when needed. In the reboot Antoine has fully shed his typical cowardice tendencies, and is more of a swashbuckling hero than a goofy coward. His comedy comes more from his dramatic personality rather than his fear of danger now. A french accent is required, but it shouldn't overpower the performance too much unless the writing calls for it.

CHARACTER DESC:
Chip is an ancient spirit that restores the world whenever it shatters every ten thousand years.
VOICE NOTES:
Chip should sound youthful, cheerful, and endlessly curious. He approaches the world with genuine wonder, finding excitement in even the smallest discoveries. His voice should be bright and expressive, but never shrill or annoying. We're going for more of a portrayal akin to his Japanese voice rather than his English voice. Really wanting to sell that younger sounding bright-eyed kid energy he has.

CHARACTER DESC:
Professor Pickle is wise, calm and well mannered, but is not without his own eccentricities as his mind tends to beat at his unique pace. As such, he is easy-going and aloof in even those most dire of situations, like when he was more incensed about the poor sandwiches Dr. Eggman made than about being kidnapped and trapped inside Eggman's base.

CHARACTER DESC:
Honey is an anthropomorphic cat and a high-spirited fashion designer who competed in a fighting tournament for the Chaos Emeralds and the right to destroy the Death Egg II to promote her brand.
VOICE NOTES:
Honey should have a higher pitched, friendly, and super-energetic sounding voice. She's basically an idol in this universe and her voice should reflect that! The voice example given here is a very good reference for the energy I'm looking for!

CHARACTER DESC:
Razor is a mobian shark and the self-proclaimed protector of the Eusebes Shrine. A former pirate, he was thrown overboard by his former crewmates, after which he was found and nursed back to health by the shrine priestess, Coral the Betta. He also has a Chao named Crusher.
VOICE NOTES:
Razor should have a rougher, cool, and intimidating voice with some texture to it. Very open to interpretation on how he could sound!

CHARACTER DESC:
Thunderbolt is defined by her obsessive devotion to Eggman and has ruthless and sadistic tendencies; she does not tolerate failure nor does she take prisoners, and she seems to enjoy the suffering of her master's enemies.
VOICE NOTES:
Thunderbolt the Chinchilla should have a high-energy, unhinged, and commanding almost shrill-like voice. The performance needs to capture her sadistic villainous enthusiasm but also needs to balance it with her innately goofy design/way of writing.

Pearly is naive, childlike, kind, gentle, sweet, and fascinated by mysterious and astronomical events, such as Aquarius' rebirth. She is usually a bit shy and reserved at first around new people, but warms up to them eventually, though she is earnest to the point of being a little pushy.

Captain Striker is a mobian mantis shrimp the commander of the Meropis Meropis City Guard, and a loyal ally of King Puff and Queen Angelica.

Captain Striker has a strong, stern voice fit for a leader. Should also lean into being a bit on the older side.

Dulcy is generally well-meaning, respectful, and determined, but she can slightly get nervous quickly, and a little bit paranoid when trying to explain herself

Nephthys appears serious and territorial towards her enemies with the intent of regional domination. In truth, she is a motherly, compassionate soul who believes Eggman to be unstoppable and that to provoke him is to doom everyone else as collateral of the feud between him and his enemies.

Nephtyhs should sound composed, strong, but also motherly in a way. Very open to interpretations of her voice!

Black Death was created as a "replacement" for Black Doom. Despite his theatrics and villanious personality, Black Death is a surprisingly paternal being, greatly concerned for the fate of the Black Arms under his control.

Mordred Hood appears to be a nervous individual. Rather than charging headlong into battle, he would rather play it safe than sorry. He is also quite anxious and is prone to coming up with excuses to defend himself rather than admitting his faults.

Tundra is a top enforcer for Eggman, and the father of Rotor the Walrus. He has the attitude of a warrior: he lives by might and honor and abhors those who do not share this code. Tundra firmly believes that strength is what defines the character, hence his loyalty to Eggman and his detesting of Rotor's intellectual pursuits

Tundra should sound strong, imposing, and cruel. Looking for a deeper & rougher sounding voice!

Bunker has a calm and welcoming demeanor, necessary for her ability to sense chi. In spite of her mellow appearance though, she will fight intensively Her voice should reflect her more laid-back and welcoming nature.

Lupe is gentle, but very strong willed, incredibly spiritual, and confident. While a calculating and brave warrior, she has great compassion and a strong sense of morals, making her an effective and fair leader. She fights for what she believes in right to the end (namely for her culture and her wolf pack).

CHARACTER DESC:
A ruthless, brutal, arrogant, narcissistic, and sadistic warrior with no empathy for anyone, Storm is willing to do whatever it takes to get her way. Obsessed with absolute power, she is a woman dedicated to her plans and nothing more or less. While normally being quite calm and stoic, she can get angered or frustrated, especially when she gets defeated or outsmarted. Her arrogance is heightened to the point where she outright hates weakness, and her having them.

The Battle Lord takes great pride in his lineage and empire. He is also very arrogant, claiming that he is "perfection". He also dislikes working for Eggman, insulting him behind his back and planning to betray him when the time is right.

If you want to contribute to this project in any small way then this role is for you! This role is for the several townsfolk, civilians, soldiers, and badniks who only have a handful of lines. Several people will be chosen for this role! Please be mindful of our stance on background noise and audio quality.

DESC:
We're looking for video editors who know how to edit motion comics! You'll need to know how to mess around with the panels directly, such as isolating specific panels, adding black borders to panels, whitening out words, etc. I want the videos we put out to stand out visually, and I want the visual flair added to be just as much of a reason people want to tune in, on top of the amazing voice cast. Things like a bright light flashing if a laser is shot, the screen shaking when there's a heavy impact, engaging transitions between panels, etc. If you've got examples of work when you've edited things similar to what I just mentioned, you'll definitely be considered. Several people will be chosen for this role to make the visual editing process as efficient as possible. Since the IDW comics can be very dynamic and chaotic with its paneling, especially during action scenes, we're looking for people who know what they're doing when it comes to comic editing specifically. Each editor will typically get one issue per batch, and around 2-3 months to work on said issue. If an editor is given two issues the payment will be doubled to reflect that. Extensions are allowed as long as it's communicated to me first that said extension is needed before the deadline.
