Ragtrade - Animated Student Short Film

Ragtrade - Animated Student Short Film

Project Overview

Follow the everyday lives of seamstresses, salesmen and customers

alike as they survive another day in the beating heart of 1960s

Melbourne Ragtrade, “The Lane”.

‘Ragtrade’ is a microcosm of a lively and diverse fashion community

that is fondly yet seldomly remembered in Melbourne, Australia's history, preserved mostly through a handful of literature, memoirs and photographs.

Genre: Slice-of-life | Period Piece | Docudrama
Project Length: 2:01 minutes

Setting: 1960s Australia, Melbourne, Flinders Lane.

Latest Updates

  • 24 Hours Left Till Submission Close! + Male Role Changes!

    Hello Everyone!

This is just a kind reminder that we have a little over 24 hours left until submissions for all roles officially close and for deliberation to begin. Afterwards, chosen voice actors will be contacted early on to be offered and accept the role.

    Male Role Updates

Great news! I've added more male extras with spoken lines in the film; which means, I've decided to hire two male voice actors instead of one!

The Salesman and Male Extras role will not re-open for submissions and the two voice actors will be chosen from the existing auditions.

Both chosen voice actors will be paid the same flat rate of $35.00 AUD for 7 lines each. (previously $40.00 for 7 lines due to complexity of the role for one voice actor)

Thank you for reading and to everyone who has taken the time to audition so far. Have a great day!

  • Salesman and All Male Character Extras Role Close

Due to the unprecedented popularity of the Salesman and All Male Character Extras Role, I will be closing submissions for the role tomorrow (26th of August) at 11pm GMT+12.

    Have a great day!
