Synopsis:
It's New Years Day 2000. New Wood City is about to celebrate the new millennium and all is well. Except for a massive mutant chemical leak poised to turn the world into chaotic beasts turns nearly half of the city (and potentially even new victims around the world) into animals. After the effects of this blast many years later, one of the affected individuals turns out to be none other than Racchel Wasbeer, an energetic, passionate stretchy heroine who, alongside her massively popular streamer friend Fioxa Kitsune, aim to save the city from ruin from augmented human beings, who lose their pure-blooded status into wild vicious villainy. Both of them are orphans, so never truly know where their parents are, but know like them, they were affected by the after effects of such magnitude, especially Racchel more so. Can Racchel, with her super stretchy strength and her green sword, alongside Fioxa's bow and arrow, save the citizens from becoming feral beasts and ruining the world piece by piece?
Introduction:
Hello! This casting call is for "Racchel", a brand new animated series produced by Tanuki Industries for Iox, The show will be an action thrilled series with some light-hearted moments and connections between the two main characters, interests to conflicts. Each episode will involve the struggles of being raised as a non-human (bipedal "Hybrid" animal) in an otherwise human world, while also having to fight the "Augments", a group of ex-human-beings with newly discovered powers who feel they can manipulate the world in their hands, whether furry or not. These villains are not the furry creatures that roam around the city, but could in later episodes reveal they were part of them as well. Both Racchel and Fioxa have known each other for years, and it's only now their powers and full strength are necessary to keep peace between animal to human. But can they do it without tearing themselves distantly, physically and/or mentally apart?
Roles:
Ideally, we're looking for a plethora of roles that'll help get the animated series produced and written. Of course, animation of the show will be taken care of in some way, but we need a few extra hands to help out with the production of each episode. As for VAs, when it comes to the two main characters, we're looking for two female leads who can bounce off each other quite well, within the show form a strong bond and connection and create a large vocal range that'll be perfect in any scenario, sad or exciting.
Concept Designer - We're looking for someone who is able to utilise the style of Racchel to then create new concepts. These could be background characters, villains or whatever other concepts you might have for Racchel and it's world. It's your input that keeps the society and world building of the show effectively thriving. Since after all, New Wood City is the metropolis capital of the US. At least, we think so anyway.
Writer - We need writers to help episodes flow naturally, and with well written episodes, we're able to produce a show that many will look up to. Each episode needs to basically have a connected series of events, a conflict, a strong equilibrium both from start to end, as well as helping develop the personalities of the main characters, villains, citizens and all other characters that may be necessary for each plot of the episode. Allanbuzzy will provide any extra input if necessary if you need a strong helping hand writing the episodes, it's a learning experience for both us and yourself.
Storyboard Artist - After the writers have finished a decent draft of a script, it's now your turn to turn each of the scenes into storyboards, the role that is necessary for the animators to properly base every scene off of. Draw indicators of how every character moves, try to draw the characters in a simple to understand format, etc. Basically, make it look decent enough for the animators to recreate in a final proof.
Extra Voice Actor - While we don't exactly have characters set in stone yet, it's good to apply yourself to the project as it means you'll be able to use your vocal range on any of the characters the team will make, whether villain, background character or whoever else is relevant for that week's episode. With your input and spare time, it helps us decide what character is best for you and is an easy protocol of contact that stops us from having to find other, more unreachable VAs.
Musician - We wouldn't want Racchel to be quiet most of the time, do we? Compose music for Racchel, including dramatic stings, generic daytime/night time music, gritty action scenes, etc.
Audio Engineer - Likewise, we would want sword swings, birds tweeting and even sounds of stretching. Making sure sounds are in the right places, making sure everything fits nicely, etc. Sound effects, volumes are correct, etc.
What to expect:
Obviously, Racchel is a passion project, which means that a lot of the show will be done off of the spare time we are able to spend producing it. But if and when you are accepted for the roles, expect to be given an invite to the Iox Discord server, where it'll be here that most of the work will be done. We'll obviously ask questions about your work, see what you are capable of doing and give you tasks to do when we are able to, which might mean a lot of waiting for one of the roles to be finished, but there's nothing stopping you from talking to each other about the workload and seeing how you might help out. The project is meant to be collaborative, so make it worth your while with your input.
What we ask of you:
Primarily, have fun with it. Racchel isn't meant to be a heavy weight on anyone's shoulders, but it will take a lot of manpower to get it produced and fully released. That's why we're wanting passionate crafters to help make the show what it should be, because without you, it wouldn't be possible.
Submit clean recordings (we're not looking for anything too fancy, but recordings enough to where we can't hear any background noise, hisses or random glitches). Mess about with effects but please don't go overboard.
We want the best cuts of your work, so don't be afraid to try and try again. Nothing will be perfect, and that's fine! Just constantly ask for feedback as to whether or not you feel what you have works!
Collaborate and talk to each other! - We want Racchel to be a team effort, an effort of talented, passionate and above all committed individuals who are masters at their craft, regardless of if it's their first time or their many times after!
Please be respectful and mindful of the work people are doing. We know everyone has busy lives, some more than others, but being patient with others will make sure things will be done in no rush at all.
The Iox Discord server may contain users under the age of 16. Although the age requirement to work on this project is 16+, if you find this uncomfortable, you do not need to join the server.
Before we go, what the hell is Iox anyway?:
Ah, we should've said earlier. Iox is basically a channel that aims to give creators a new solid ground to pitch their ideas to a new creative-driven network. We don't want to reject ideas that we feel were passed down from network to channel, or even new ideas from creators either. We want Iox to be bold, brave and experimental, live-action to animated, reviews to news pieces, Iox is your channel. And Racchel will be a cornerstone of Iox's output, in fact, we'd hate to say it'd probably be the flagship show. We can't wait to see what the community creates and we're always banking on the new big thing.
