Justice League - Throne of Atlantis Motion Comic Movie

Project Overview

Justice League Throne of Atlantis is the first of many major storylines in the new52 lineup. We find the League fractured from recent events with only a few members still present. After a recent mission involving the Cheetah, the remaining members decide it might be time to recruit more people. However, before they can make any serious decisions they are suddenly bombarded by reports of attacks on major cities in the US. The League soon learns that Orm, brother of Aquaman and current king of Atlantis has invaded the surface world. I won't give away too many details, but there will be action, romance, comedy, etc. all bundled up into an epic movie. If you're passionate about voice acting and want to have fun then you'll love voicing in this movie.


What I'm looking for: 

- Some knowledge of the comic( a quick wikipedia search)
- Acting ability/getting into character
- Decent quality microphone (see explainer vid fo .an example.)
-Commitment

Dr. Shin was an old friend of Aquaman who helped him come to grips with what he is (half human and half atlantean). He helped Aquaman develop his powers, but became obsessed with the notion of the location of Atlantis. He even  threatened to kill Atlantis out of his insane obsession with the lost city.  A brilliant scientist driven mad. His voice should reflect a humble older scientist.

Mary is a small town Diner owner alongside her husband. Superman and Wonder Woman approach the Diner for food and she's completely shocked. I'm open to interpretation for her voice, but I imagine some variation of a Southern American accent since it is near Smallville.

3 cops are talking about a recent heist from a gang that Batman took down and how Aquaman isn't really a superhero. If at all possible, I'd like for one actor to voice 2 or all 3 of the cops. But if you only audition for one, please indicate this in your audition. Voices should vary between the cops in pitch and/or accent. Age can be young adult to middle-aged.

  • Cop 1 - My kid says Aquaman is really from Atlantis! (mocking)

  • Cop 2 - That's the Tabloids. Aquaman lives in a lighthouse outside of Boston.

Her name fits her description. She essentially can form her body into any element at any form (solid, liquid, and gas). If you are a chemistry nerd, you can understand how impressive this is. She can put people to sleep, poison, incinerate, flame, and the list goes on. Her personality is pretty chipper and enthusiastic. She's one of the heroes that are recruited to fight the threat.

Orm, brother of Aquaman, is enacting plans to eliminate any possible threat to Atlantis. Dr. Shin is one of the people on the list and an Atlantean Assassin arrives to take him out. Cyborg tries to protect him. Voice is open to interpretation, but I'l be adding a mask-effect. Can be middle-aged sounding too.

Tula is an important character to the Aquaman lore, but doesn't have very many lines in the movie. She's basically a general in the new52 that serves under the person in charge, in this case Orm - brother of Aquaman. She carries out missions and attempts to either fight the main battle against humanity or assassinate Dr. Shin.

A powerful hero that can discharge and absorb an enormous amount of electricity. His powers allow him to manipulate the molecules in the air to mimic flight as well. He's also a great strategist who doesn't like to charge into battles. Black Lightning is another hero recruited by the league during this crisis. His voice should be commanding and medium to low pitched.

Doctor that appeared in volume 1, he's a big part of what happened to Cyborg and how his life was saved by alien machinery. Dr. Marrow as initially against the transformation but now appears to agree that something needs to be done before the world ends. His voice should be medium pitched and have a hint of sarcasm.

Doctor and brilliant scientist. He's the father of Victor Stone. In volume 1, he neglected his son's athletic talents and ultimately caused the transformation into Cyborg. Now he's helping his son by applying an upgrade that will allow Cyborg to maneuver underwater. His voice should sound wise.

Think of an animal. Now think of their abilities (camoflauge, super-strength, incredible speed, etc.). That's Vixen. She can channel of these animal's abilities. She can regenerate, fly, amp up her stamina all from a mystical amulet. I imagine Vixen having some variation of an African Accent (Ghana). She was recruited by the JL during the crisis.

Firestorm is the genetic combination of two beings (high school student Ronnie Raymond and professor Martin Stein). Powers include density control, Memory recall, energy absorption and projection, enhanced vision, etc. He's a beast basically. Whoever voices him will need to be able to voice the professor and the student. In other words a young adult and middle-aged sounding voice. Another JL recruit against the crisis. 

  • Ronnie - Did you see that?! Hawkman just split that guy's head open!

  • Dr. Stein - Don't worry about Hawkman Ronnie. Focus on turning that water into helium around the Atlanteans!
