Project Sekai Primary Colors Recast, Named NPC Casting, & Vocaloid Producer Casting
Project Overview
Primary Colors is a Project Sekai fandub project which aims to be a playable ongoing mod hosting our dub on a custom server and playable on both emulator and mobile devices!
Audition requirements:
- Must be 16 years or older.
- Must have a Discord account, as all project discussion and management takes place on our project's server.
- Must have a decent quality microphone. This is standard fare for most VA projects, and I won't be too picky if you have a little background noise we can clean up or slightly lower quality audio, but please don't send in auditions that sound like they were recorded in a tin can, on a moving train, or on 20 year old hardware. This dub aims to be a professional playable product, so your audio should be able to be edited to fit that standard.
- Multiple takes encouraged but not strictly required. Giving me multiple takes gives me a better idea of your range of emotion and flexibility as your character and may increase your chances of getting cast, but this is not a strict requirement.
- We are a chill and friendly community, so please just bring a good attitude and be a decent person and don't cause unnecessary drama.
- Please include your Discord ID (just as confirmation you have one and that the right people are joining the cast server), as well as if you are comfortable with being double cast as multiple NPCS or considered for a character you didn't audition for in your audition description.
Additional information:
- Since this is a recast, Akito is the only main character available. All NPC characters are being casted for the first time.
- Final casting decisions will all be made after the deadline, so no worries about getting in auditions ASAP. You will be considered as long as your audition is submitted before June 1st!
- However, I will be listening to auditions as they come in, and may be giving feedback/suggestions, so if you can audition sooner, it is a good idea.
- If there is a lack of quality auditions for certain roles by the deadline, I may extend the deadline for some roles while casting others.
- Those who are cast will receive a CCC DM from me with a link to the cast Discord server. Please check your DMs regularly when the deadline is up so you don't miss it!

Akito was inspired to get into music by An's dad. He sings with his partner Toya at the BAD DOGS clubhouse.
Akito appears to be an easygoing guy at first. However, his personality drastically changes when music is involved, becoming hot-blooded and passionate to the point where people find him scary. He respects anyone who is passionate about their interest and hates half-hearted people. He acts polite towards acquaintances and strangers, but when in the presence of people he is familiar with, he drops this act, showing his true gruff personality. Though Akito can be rude at times and occasionally plays pranks on Tsukasa, he is a dependable and caring person.
His voice is softer in his "nice guy" persona, compared to his usual brusque self.
Due to the prevalence of music in the stories, and Vivid BAD SQUAD's tendency to involve singing in their stories, comfort with singing as the character is required and submitting a singing sample alongside the lines is strongly encouraged.
Akito is a powerful singer who often sings in the tenor to baritone range.

(Normal personality, brusque and annoyed) (Also do not say sigh out loud or I will judge you severely) Sigh... Why can't Ena go to the convenience store herself? Sheesh, does she think it's fine as long as she pays?
It's my job. And besides... I had to make sure you don't buy a horrible outfit and damage the store's rep.
Mai is a 15-year-old ex-idol.
Mai used to be in the idol group ASRUN together with Haruka Kiritani. Mai wanted to join ASRUN and become an idol when she saw Haruka performing once, to the point of wanting to perform with the idol herself. After being part of ASRUN for three years, Mai fell into a slump, feeling out-of-touch with both the dance routines and music. At the time, Haruka encouraged her to keep practicing, believing that, if she just kept practicing, she would get better. Due to overwork, Mai damaged her vocal cords and would have to stop singing in the hopes that they would heal. Angered at her condition, Mai blamed Haruka for giving her false hope, since now she has lost everything. Haruka was heavily impacted by Mai's words and thought that she was not worthy to be an idol.
She has a high-pitched and soft voice.

(Excited, awestruck) I-It's nice to meet you! I'm Mai, the new member! U-Um, Haruka? Your words have given me so much hope! I'm so happy to be a part of ASRUN!
(Devastated, near tears) No... Why?! Why can't I sing anymore?! It's not fair! I worked so hard. I never gave up, and now this happens?!
Ken Shiraishi is a 43-year-old musician and cafe owner, father of main character An Shiraishi. He performed in the legendary event "RAD WEEKEND" with his group RADder. He was the one who inspired both An and Akito to become street musicians. He is currently running a live cafe and bar called WEEKEND GARAGE, which he built after he retired from the scene. He serves as a mentor to Vivid BAD SQUAD throughout their journey and appears in many of their stories.
Since Ken is seen singing in flashbacks, confidence in briefly singing as the character is highly recommended.

Kotaro is a 17-year-old singer and friend of BAD DOGS members Akito and Toya.
He respects Ken, but initially thought that his daughter An doesn't have talent and is just using her father's popularity. In Vivid BAD SQUADs Main Story, he sabotages Vivids' first live performance and creates an "opportunity" for Vivids and BAD DOGS to confront each other. However, he later sees Vivids' true skill and apologizes for ruining their first event, and starts practicing and honing his own singing skills even harder.

Hey now, calm down. I know as well as anyone how good you guys are. But nobody can compare with RAD WEEKEND. Akito, you were there, weren't you? You know what I'm talking about.
(Sinisterly, scheming) Seriously?! That's great! Ken's girl will look like a snot-nosed brat compared to you two! In that case, maybe I'll lend you guys a little support of my own.
(Nervous, apologetic) I-I wanted to apologize and...to let you know that Akito and Toya weren't involved that night... They both planned on going up against you in a fair fight. Cutting the power...was my idea. They didn't know.
Harumichi is a 53-year-old world famous classic musician and father of Toya Aoyagi. He has been teaching Toya and his two older brothers how to play music since childhood, hoping that they would become professional musicians later in life. He is frequently portrayed pushing Toya to play music to the point of physical pain and social isolation. He disapproves of Toya's decision to become a street musician, and believes Toya is wasting his time and talent.
Note: as per the description, this character is a fairly abusive parent. Don't audition if you aren't comfortable playing such a character.

The mascot is a man working as both a mascot at theme park Phoenix Wonderland and personal bodyguard for main character Emu Otori. Despite his cute costume, he has a deep and intimidating voice, acting cold and professional but quickly getting aggressive if Emu is in danger.

(Threateningly) I asked you if you're going to do shows with young miss Emu.
Mr. Yoisaki is a 46-year-old musician and father of main character Kanade Yoisaki.
One night, Kanade came into his room, having written a song for him. Upon playing it, her father was shaken, realizing in that moment that his music isn't what modern people need, and that he could never touch the hearts of others with his songs. He then told Kanade to keep creating music, since her music would undoubtedly help people. The next day, Kanade found her father collapsed in his room and unresponsive. At the hospital, the doctors said he collapsed from fatigue, and that he should be able to recover. However, he also suffered from severe burnout, making it difficult for him to remember things properly, without a clear time when he would recover from this psychological damage.
Currently, he is still in care at the hospital, slowly recovering from his memory problems.
Most of his dialogue is seen in flashbacks, but he is also occasionally seen in the modern day.

That's amazing, Kanade! I didn't realize you could write such gentle songs. I'm sure your mother would have loved it, too. You have such a gift, Kanade. You've really been blessed by music.
(Frustrated) And I'm saying it's not possible!
Shinei is a 48-year-old professional artist and father of main characters Akito and Ena Shinonome. Despite being the inspiration for his daughter becoming an artist, he acts coldly to her and discourages her from being an artist because he thinks she will not be able to handle the pressure. Because of this, their relationship is now strained.
While well-intentioned, he ends up severely hurting his daughter with his words and actions.
Note: he only has a few lines in the main story, so I've included some lines from a later appearance. This is to say, in the short-term, he has a very small amount of lines.

No. Do whatever you want. Anyone can draw. There's no rule that says you need to have talent to do it.
But this contest attracts artists that are as good as actual professionals every year. You don't stand a chance.
You're free to do as your please. Keep drawing, if that's what you want to do. But if you're serious about becoming a professional, you'll keep facing what you are now time and time again. Compared to those with talent, those without will have to work much harder to be on the same level. More than you can imagine.
We're hoping to use the actual voicebanks for the VIRTUAL SINGERs in the story!
We are looking for producers who can produce clean English talkloid-esque speech like that seen in-game, as well as singing for covers/moments in the stories!
You can apply to produce talking, singing, or both for any of Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, KAITO, and MEIKO.
