Project Fritho - My Original Pokémon Region
Project Overview
Hey guys, CharaDreamer55 here, and I'm finally back with the prequel to Project Askos, also known as my new Pokémon project, Project Fritho!
The format and style of the story part of the video will be similar to the style of a visual novel, but with a narrator that moves the story from scene to scene. The viewer acts like the "Player" in this scenario.
Project Fritho is my personal Pokemon project that's been in the works ever since Askos went into production, so I'd like to share my brand new region with the world!
My vision for the project was inspired by a video series called "What [BLANK] was a Pokémon Region?" by a Poketuber known as Mr. Buddy. These videos were my main form of inspiration for me to work more on my own Pokemon regions, and make my own videos a la the style of Mr Buddy's videos based around my own projects.
In this video I wanted to shake it up a little and hire Voice Actors to record some lines of dialogue for the many characters that appear! All of the characters who appear in the story are original characters of mine, so I think there will be a wide variety of roles to help make the Fritho region come alive.

The player character, Basil, is a kid of few words, but when the situation calls for it, he will speak his mind. He tries to make light of serious situations and is overall a very supportive friend. He's a little shy (hence why he doesn't talk much), but he does eventually open up to more people later on in the story.
(annoyed) Ugh, this again? Why the hell do they even show this ad when I live in the Fritho region?!
(hesitant) I don't know...you said yourself that he would never do something like this! Are you sure that what you saw is true?
(reassuring) Dad, you're way better than that psycho could ever be. I'm happy to call you my father.
Professor Douglas Palm is the Fritho regions' leading Pokemon Professor, who's researching Pokémon of myths and legends whilst raising his son, Basil, alongside his loving wife Anne. He's a little insecure about his abilities as a father, but with a powerful Trainer like Prof. Palm as your father, he must be pretty great :)
(happy) This world is full of creatures known as Pokémon, and I'm certain that one of them can become your very own partner, just like my Flamfeather here!
(excited) Happy birthday, Player! Aren't you excited? Today's the day that I get to give you your very first Pokémon!
(apologetic) I'm sorry Player...I guess that hiding the truth ended up hurting you more...I hope you can forgive us.
Anne Palm is your lovely mother, who created the nature reserve over in Cirra Town, as well as being the Gym Leader in that town. But when you originally meet her as such, she tries to hide her identity from you to a comical extent. But she tries her best to be a good mother, as she too has her doubts for her own reasons which will be developed during the story.
She won't fail her son again.
(happy) Happy birthday, sweetie! Did you hear? Your father's coming around here today to give you your starter Pokémon!
(mystical) So, you finally come face to face with destiny. You stand there, thinking "Who is this mysterious Gym Leader?" Well, I guess it's time I finally reveal the truth.
(embarrassed) Eh?! Hey, couldn't you at least let me finish my speech, Player?
"Rival 1", who will go un-named for now due to spoilers, is a very shy boy who has been sheltered for most of his life, and was raised to be the successor of his father's company once he comes of age. He starts off shy and easily flustered, but throughout the story he's able to muster up some courage thanks to the help of his friends. He holds his father in high regard, seeing him as a person who can do no wrong, and gets upset when people say otherwise.
(shy) Player...I'd like to think that we're friends. I, uh...I've never really had a friend before, sorry. So...are we friends?
(upset) My father would never do something like that! His company is dedicated towards making the world a better place, he would never do these terrible things!
(determined) You're a big fat liar! I got my hands on one of those things, and I figured out what it REALLY does. And it's a really bad thing that someone is trying to ruin Father's reputation with!
"Rival 2", who's name will go unknown for now due to spoilers, is an enthusiastic girl who's always dreamed of going on her own Pokémon journey alongside her partner, Psyduck. She's determined to fulfill her destiny that's been passed down for generations - the destiny that one day, she'll befriend the legendary Tohowhal. She's a little bad at considering other people's feelings before speaking her mind, so is prone to upsetting people.
(happy) Oh! Hi there! I hope we can become good friends - I mean, rivals! Yeah! But friends too!
(worried) Are you okay? I'm sorry if I upset you, it's just...no, you're right. I shouldn't of said those terrible things. I know how much your father means to you.
(creepy) This world will be born anew once I'm able to summon the legendary! There will be no more pain and suffering...the Fritho region will finally be at peace!
Imogen is the first gym leader of the Fritho region, who runs a popular restaurant in your hometown. She's very easily excited by things, and always tries to have s cheery smile on her face! She has a girlfriend, April, and gets embarrassed when talking about her to other people.
(excited) Hey, wanna battle? My name's Imogen, and I'll be your very first opponent in our little League here in the Fritho Region! Are you ready? Let's go!
(embarrassed) Uhm, here. Could you deliver this letter to my girl- uh, to my friend over in Margue Town? Oh, and don't you dare open it!
(happy) Oh my stars! April, of course I will! *happy noises*
April is the second gym leader of the Fritho region, who's the caretaker of a historic castle in Margue Town. She's very laid back and relaxed, and loves playing out in the rain with her younger sister, "Rival 2". She has a girlfriend, Imogen, who she absolutely adores, and she gets very overprotective if someone tries to hurt her.
(giving herself a pep talk) Okay, April! You can do this! Today's the day when you're going to ask her, I can feel it!
(smug) Hey, leave some for me, won't you, Player? It's bold of you to assume that the team I fought you with was my ACTUAL team. Nah...my actual team's WAY more threatening.
(concerned) Sis, is everything okay? You've been acting really weird recently. This isn't like you at all!
Wyatt is "Rival 2's" father, and is the CEO of Fritho's leading tech company, Cyber Labs, as well as the fifth gym leader. His company was created to make the world a better place, a place where people and Pokémon can live in harmony. At first, he seems like a friendly person, who only wants the best for his son, but in reality, he's planning something far more sinister...
(happy) Today I'd like to reveal my latest invention to you all: The Cyber Disk! With this marvellous invention, some Pokémon can undergo new evolutions into better and stronger versions of themselves.
(smug) What a shame. I lost. But it changes nothing. Nothing can stop the flow of history - the history I'M about to create!
(furious) My name is Wyatt Cypress, and you will do as I say! Nothing will get in the way of my perfect plan! I'll show you what TRUE power looks like!
Colton is part of Fritho's Elite 4, and is a cameo of my friend BluRay's character. I imagine Colton is very smug, and believes that he's better than everyone else. He and Wyatt are good friends, and he was able to get his position as one of the Elite 4 thanks to his help. But just like Wyatt, he's hiding his own sinister intentions...
(introducing himself) Oh, so you must be Player. My name's Colton, and it's a pleasure to meet you.
(smug) I hear you were able to defeat Wyatt...but I severely doubt that you'll be able to beat me. After all, I'm one of the strongest Trainers in the region, and he was just a Gym Leader.
(smug) Y'know, I think that some of what Wyatt said wasn't so bad. This world is full of terrible people like him...and all those people need is a little bit of guidance from people like him. People like me.
Salem is part of Fritho's Elite 4, and she's a mysterious girl who has the ability to talk to spirits, and she's able to use this power to allow people she trusts to see illusions of the ones they've lost. She's very quiet, are rarely speaks up, but when she does, she's rather passionate about what she has to say.
(upset) I hear there's this region far away that's under the rule of this terrible King...I wish I could go and help them, but it's impossible to navigate the darkness surrounding there...
(surprised) Oh, you must be Player. And you must be their friend. I've heard a lot about you. Here, follow me...
(happy) Player, could you say to your friend, "thank you"? If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have gotten the idea to bring a Filabub with me.
Ashley is Wyatt's assistant, is part of Fritho's Elite 4, and was the one who raised his son when he was busy with his work. She holds him in high regard, due to how she's in love with him, but knows that the feelings will never be returned. "Rival 1" sees her as an older sister of sorts, and she has a soft spot for him after all these years. She wants nothing else in the world than a chance to see Wyatt happy.
(happy) Welcome to Cyber Labs HQ! My name is Ashley, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have!
(sincere) Y'know, I like working for Wyatt. No...I LOVE working for him! It's just...ever since his wife left him, he's never been satisfied. He wants to make sure that he never makes a mistake like that again.
(in denial) Me, a liar? Very funny! Children have the wildest imaginations, don't they?
The members of Cyber Labs are important NPCs you'll meet throughout your travels, who make sure to always present themselves well in the name of the company they work for. They all love working for Cyber Labs, although most of them are oblivious to the true nature of the company.
Oh, hello. You must be Player. May I be of any assistance to you?
Cyber Labs is a company dedicated to bettering the lives of people and Pokémon. It's definitely an experience, working here!
Assistant F-T7 here. The energy readings around this area are very intriguing. There seems to be traces of recent psychic activity...I will update you once I learn more.
Yes, that's right, Mr. Trent Askos himself is going to make a cameo inside Fritho. This version of him is...a spoiler amount of years old, and has just learnt of the terrible things going on in the Amurg region. He's here to recruit some people to help his efforts, and will probably try to convince the Player to help too, with mixed results.
(casual) Oh, hello. Sorry, did you want to look at this? It is interesting, isn't it?
(upset) The Amurg region...it used to be so wonderful. But now, it's covered in darkness under the terrible reign of King Blake.
(determined) Player, you should come and help me return the light back to Amurg! I'm sure with a powerful Trainer like you,
