Pilot Cast and Crew Needed for 'Ghost Of The Stars' A Sci-Fi Survival Adventure Podcast

Project Overview

This is 'Ghost Of The Stars' 2.0. A reimagining of a project that started several years ago, but never found its feet...until now. With a new start comes a newly written pilot and a need for new cast members to fill in these parts. Currently, the work is deferred, as the pilot will be used to make a Kickstarter campaign and the success of the campaign will allow cast to be paid industry rates for their work instead of a smaller indie rate if payment was immediate.

The project itself is a Sci-fi Survival Audio-Drama Podcast set on an unknown planet.  During the events of the Pilot (currently titled 'Whatever Happened to the Pioneer?') the crew aboard the Colony Ship, the Pioneer, heading for a planet in Alpha Centaur, have to abandon the ship after it becomes critically damaged by a strange space anomaly. Each member of the crew land on a different part of the nearby orbiting planet and must each survive on this hostile alien planet, then maybe thrive, conquer, and possibly, hopefully, one day, get back home.

Collaborating with the original team behind the project, we aim to make this podcast into a full 10 episode season. With your help as VO actors, we can make this happen.

  • Beta Centauri (Beta Readers Call)

    November is ending, December is among us, and as the new year approaches over the horizon we are in need of actors to share their thoughts on the script, to make it ready for 2026 January casting.

    If you would like to be involved in the reading of the pilot two-parter script, please leave a comment on the public page with the phrase “Beta Centauri” and we will send you the script in the month of December, along with instructions for feedback.   • October Orbit Update!

    Howdy everyone!

    The team and I are still working hard on refining the script, and to that end, we’d like to announce that the pilot episode is now…. In two parts!!

    This decision came from the ideas for the episode growing beyond just a singular entry in the series, and it felt unfair to those ideas to leave them for a second or future episode. So, with a two-parter pilot, this allows the team and I to introduce additional characters, extras, more emotional scenarios, and world-building.

    Progress is going strong and we’re hoping to have to show you before thanksgiving (fingers crossed)

  • Aiming for the Stars

    Howdy all, Matt here to provide everyone with an update on the project so far. The writers and I are hard at work tinkering with the 2025 edition of the pilot script to ensure that it is the best that it can possibly be before we begin listening and casting roles. We thank you for your patience and support on the project thus far. We are excited to start matching characters with cast members, and we will update you all when we have started listening.

A Pathfinder. An Officer of Space Force. Protective Brother, Codependent Twin. Pathfinder Jin Santos in charge of the colonising ship 'The Pioneer' heading to Alpha Centauri. Due to critical system failures, Jin evacuates the ship to the unclassified world below. Awaking in a violent ocean, Jin must survive in order to re-unit with his Twin Jade, who Jin is unsure if she survived the evacuation of 'The Pioneer'. 

  • [Relaxed, Sipping Drink] "Ahhh, another quiet hour passes on this deep space pleasure cruise, eh Pioneer? Nothing to report on? No Space Pirates or Sudden Black Holes? No? That’s good."

Jade Santos [F, 20s]

A Doctor. Xenobiologist. Botanist. Xenolinguist. Independent. Demure. Doctor Jade Santos specialises in treating flora based life-forms in non-terrain conditions, but is also skilled in treating humans just as well. Jade often comes off as demure and gentle, but can be strong, especially when it comes to any related to her Twin brother Jin Santos. She's passionate about her work and helping others, but can be quite hard on herself when she is unable to help or is otherwise in certain situations. 

  • [Recapping her day to Investigating Commander] "It was early, but Helix and I had a lot of work to do. It was only supposed to be a few days until we arrived at Alpha Centauri. We were bouncing off each other what our plan was for the first batch of colonists that were to be awakened."

Medical Support Artificial Lifeform bonded with Doctor Jade Santos. His duty is to keep in optimal bodily and mental health throughout her life as well as assisting her in her field. In order to be the best lifelong companion and assistant to her, he has adopted certain mannerisms to compliment her. He is very knowledgeable to medical terms, treatments, as well as able to tolerate her emotional outbursts calmly.

  • [Booting Up] "Systems Commencing. Life Support: Active. Power Supply: Emergency Power Only. Structural Integrity: Damages Moderate."

  • [Responding to being asked "What is happening?"] "A lot, Jade. I’ve finished checking your vitals and we’ve suffered minor head trauma. Your right shoulder’s dislocated and you’ve got bruising all over. It’s especially severe on your ribs and hips. Your left leg has a foreign object lodged into it, probably from things flying around in here..."

Bio-Engineer on-board The Pioneer. Quiet. Keeps to himself. A troubled mind. A byproduct of interspecies mingling between a human mother and an alien mother, his alien mother being a bio-mechanical engineer. Raised in a very comfortable, but sheltered life. Williams gained secrets, plenty, during his youth. Careful with his words, Williams does his best to never show who he real is inside. Lacks confidence. During the evacuation, William adds another secret to his collection. 

  • [CLARIFYING] "Right, Sorry. So, I prepared my own body’s organic computer to merge with the ship. But I needed to physically link-in. This ensured that nobody but me or another ‘Enhanc-Ingeer’ could speak directly with the Pioneer. When we merged, it was like purple and gold webs were mingling. In a second we were connected, and I could feel everything the ship felt. And what we felt [Pause] it was the worst pain I’ve ever felt. Like thousands of needles piercing every pore in your body."

  • [REGRETFUL] "I didn’t want to leave her to die alone, but I couldn’t save her, we both knew that. But we can save our passengers. And that’s what we did, what we tried to do anyway."

Authoritative. Android. No-Nonsense. Captain Iona is the Captain of and face of the Colonising Ship 'The Pioneer'. Asleep during the events of the crash, but have detailed instructions for her officers to handle situations, if things should go awry. After the descent, she awakens alone, with her memory-drive damaged. The voice of authority, a commanding presence despite being inorganic,

Arbiter Soma, an alien lifeforms from the Sol System. Details about his race and origins are hotly debated within the UNS. As a Xenolinguist, he is skilled in communicating with alien species and lifeforms, somehow being able to translate the sounds and vibrations of their speech to something he can understand and persuade them. He values his identity as gay, within his life onboard The Pioneer, within his species and amongst his friends. His Xenodruidic abilities give him the ability to partly control plant-life. Upbeat, friendly, calm and deeply intelligent.

Maisy is an Artificial Lifeform bonded with Pathfinder Jin Santos. Her duty is to keep him in optimal health, both physically and mentally. In order to be the best lifelong companion to him, she has adapted certain mannerisms to compliment him, including providing him with the tough love needed to motivate him and guide him to be the best Jin he can be. Maisy is caring, funny and sharp, whilst also being A.I and lacking some of the more subtle human emotions and interactions.

Kaya and Maya, a mother Daughter pair met on the planet below. Kaye has the voice of "Ice caressing your heart". She is kind but also ruthless. Kaye once trusted another of the sky people but something happened and was cast out by her clan of Sanguipisce. Raising her daughter alone at the crags, at the edge of the kelp sea, where creatures are in abundance, but life refuses to grow. Because of this she has grown distrustful, putting the survival and well being of her daughter above all else.
