Project Overview

"After time adrift among open stars, along tides of light and through shoals of dust, I will return to where I began."

Mass Effect: Pilgrimage is a fan-created series developed/filmed in Unreal Engine 5. The show is centered on a young quarian, Lena'Xaan, and her experiences living within the travel-hub colony, Elysium.

This is a project I'd started as a youngin' but scrapped due to complexities at the time. Mass Effect is my favorite science-fiction universe, and I look forward to doing the franchise justice this time around.

There's an old intro episode I did that's still available to reference, but please do not regard its quality as indicative of current production value (for that, you may reference current work on @jonathansud).

    so close, folks. I'll do a proper write-up about the cause of delays at some point, but seriously—thank you for your continued patience and support. Some of y'all have reached out during particularly rough moments, and it made a world of difference.

    So! I'm essentially content-complete now. Main focus is final VFX touch-ups and re-doing some face mocap (cause honestly, if I've taken this long, it'd better be worth it, yeah?). Everything looks way better than I ever imagined, and I'm excited to have a bit of a second wind going on.

    Still not giving any hard dates, but...I very much like to chill that first week or two of fall, if you catch my drift.

  • More delays, but looking great

    Hey folks, hope all's well.

    Just wanted to provide another update since the last one mentioned early August for release. I'm gonna avoid doing that this time — been rushing amid sickness and making careless mistakes. This stuff's rough, but it'll be worth it :)

    On a positive note, we're starting to get some traction! There's even an article, which is absolutely wild (https://www.gamingbible.com/news/platform/pc/mass-effect-pilgrimage-unreal-engine-adventure-491774-20240807).

    Life's a bit more crazy than usual, and I sincerely apologize for these delays. The saving grace is that they're rooted in time-consuming tasks that won't need to be done again (environment design and rigging, in particular).

  • Status Update!

    Hey folks, I know most of our conversations have been direct, but hopefully the majority of y’all will see this!

    First things foremost—thank you so much for the speedy turnaround! I think I’d gotten everything that first week of July, so that was dope in that I got to knock out the audio mix fairly quick.

    Now for the current status:

    Filming is going well, albeit an annoying delay caused by a scene’s level optimization issue (tldr: it blew up, and I had to remake it). Whether or not this affects next week’s premiere is uncertain, but I’m in overdrive mode trying to re-create and setup those scenes. The worst scenario is a week delay, so early August. Not too bad—honestly this has been quick considering how long I’ve taken for shorter, simpler works.

    ALSO! One thing I forgot for a lot of y’all in initial outreach was crediting! If you could please let me know ASAP what name/username you’d like to be credited as, that’d be great!

    Thank you again to everyone who auditioned! I've gone ahead and sent out initial emails and Discord friend requests. For my shortlisted people on the "Various/Side" role — you are all considered for spots, and if you didn't get a Discord/Email request from me, please let me know!     I'll be sending out materials tonight for primary/secondary cast members while working with others on potential minor/extra roles.
