Project Overview

"Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon ..."
- Rorschach, CHAPTER I

"We gaze continually at the world and it grows dull in our perceptions. Yet seen from the another's vantage point. As if new, it may still take our breath away ..."
- Dr. Manhattan, CHAPTER IX

"Everyday the future looks a little bit darker. But the past, even the grimy parts of it, well, it just keeps on getting brighter all the time ..."
- Sally Juspezcyk, CHAPTER II

"Watchmen" (1986-1987) by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons is one of the greatest and most seminal graphic novels of all time - and adapting the story into a visual novel has been a process in the making for the past four years.
The first half (Chapter I-VI) has already been adapted by me and my fellow voice actors in "Watchmen: Part I" - and the time has come for us to finally wrap this adaptation up with the second and final half of the story, that somehow becomes more relevant and timeless as times go on.

This feature-length project of ours, when finished and combined will be about 8 hours long in full, features talented voice actors across the board, an original soundtrack by a composer, and a clear, distinctive vision for what Alan Moore's penned words and Dave Gibbons' illustrations should feel like.
Our goal, and mine as a director, is to make this project the most authentic and true adaptation of "Watchmen" possible - made by fans for fans, around the globe.

We are currently casting the second half (Chapters VII-XII) and we're looking for all sorts of voice talents that can help us bring this authentic and true vision of "Watchmen" come to life.

Backstory and plot of "Watchmen";
"Watchmen" is a comic book limited series by the British creative team of writer Alan Moore, artist Dave Gibbons and colorist John Higgins. It was published monthly by DC Comics in 1986 and 1987 before being collected in a single-volume edition in 1987. "Watchmen" originated from a story proposal Moore submitted to DC featuring superhero characters that the company had acquired from Charlton Comics. As Moore's proposed story would have left many of the characters unusable for future stories, managing editor Dick Giordano convinced Moore to create original characters instead.

Moore used the story as a means of reflecting contemporary anxieties, deconstructing and satirizing the superhero concept and making political commentary. "Watchmen" depicts an alternate history in which superheroes emerged in the 1940s and 1960s and their presence changed history so that the United States won the Vietnam War and the Watergate scandal was never exposed. In 1985, the country is edging toward World War III with the Soviet Union, freelance costumed vigilantes have been outlawed and most former superheroes are in retirement or working for the government.

The story focuses on the protagonists' personal development and moral struggles as an investigation into the murder of a government-sponsored superhero pulls them out of retirement.

Audition now - and have the chance to be involved in a highly ambitious project that, hopefully, will stand the test of time as one of the better adaptations of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' masterpiece.

Latest Updates

  • Regarding a recast;

    We've decided to press forward with our second actor for the role of Veidt - and I'd like to thank you all for auditioning for the role. All auditions were great. If this news may disappoint, I would urge you all to audition for our upcoming Audiodrama, Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy - an immersive audiobook featuring original music, the original prose and many VA-talents to bring light - or perhaps - darkness - to these wretched characters. I'm sure we can find a place for you all there!

    Thanks,

    Best

    Olle

Unpaid
Role assigned to: Cthonaut

(Verbally fluid, highly cunning, yet playful and attractive tone of voice)

Adrian Veidt is a former, intellectually superior, member of the Crimebusters who aided his fellow members, featuring Dan Dreiberg, Rorschach, Laurie Juspeczyk, in the battle against crime.

Since the early-seventies his ultimate goal has been to trick humanity into believing that forces beyond our control and vistas are a way bigger threat to keep a close eye on, insead of ourselves. Adrian succeeds in this venture in the end, leaving humanity scarred for life, yet more peaceful and prosperous than ever before. But like Dr. Manhattan himself has said: "Nothing ends, Adrian. Nothing ever ends." And Rorschach is a man of letters - which none of them anticipated.

What we are looking for;
We're looking for a talented actor between the ages of 30-40, who will provide an authentic German/Austrian accent within the English language - preferably a German actor with German as the native tongue.
This role is a demanding one creatively and in practice, and will demand a lot of time and recordings within the project (Throughout Chapters 1-12), since the character appears throughout the story. In Chapters 10-12 Veidt is the main focus of the narrative.
Also, since this is a last-minute casting call, all the duties for the role will have to be finished within 3-4 weeks time, in order for us to proceed accordingly with the project.

Recurring appearances.

PS: This is a recasting. Please listen to our previous actor within the Intermission portion, and you'll be able to see what kind of quality performance we're interested in. Calculating, cunning, a billionaire meglomaniac in the flesh - with a slight touch of playfulnness and interest in the arts and myths.
