Pico: Class of '99

Pico is the main character of the show. He will most likely have the most lines because of this.

Pico is a complicated character, in the sense that one moment he may behave like an after school PSA goodie goodie, then the next he could be telling you to piss off and pulling a gun on you.


Pico has been cast.

Boyfriend is a reoccurring character. He is dating Pico but isn't seen quite as often as Pico's 2 best friends (Nene and Darnell, who are cast already).

Boyfriend is neurodivergent and doesn't talk super often unless he's around his boyfriend.

Cassandra is the main antagonist. She's the biggest school bully and the leader of the Gothpunks.

In the original Pico's School Cassandra is a lot worse than she will be in this, as she commits a pretty messed up crime in the original that will be cut entirely from the adaptation. Cassandra will just kind of be your average school bully who probably shoplifts and vandalizes the city. Her main target is Pico and his friends but she picks on anybody she doesn't like.

Cassandra has been cast.

Alucard is a member of the Gothpunks and the son of an asshole scientist. He had telekinetic powers due to experiments done on him as a baby.  He's fairly close with Cassandra and will carry out her orders, though not without a lot of smartass back-talk. I supposed if you're auditioning for this you should know a thing or two about these characters but eh.

Alucard is well spoken and stays fairly calm most of the time, though sometimes he can come across as sarcastic or rude depending on the situation.

Cyril in the original Pico's School was a bit of a nasty character due to some symbols on his design, but those will be entirely taken out. His character instead will tap into the implied softer side he has, making him a bit of a dumb and well-meaning doof. He's a big brawny character with very little brains.

Though, of the Gothpunks, besides Cassandra, he enjoys being mean more than someone like Alucard or Hanzou and is more likely to cause trouble.

Hanzou is Japanese-American in this, and I do NOT intend on characterizing Hanzou as some kind of "weeb". Hanzou's character potential will be explored better and the stereotyping in their character will be taken out.

Hanzou is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns.

Hanzou is semi-open, as the original actor for Hanzou is unsure if they can fill the role.

Spike is the big and burly bodyguard of the Gothpunks. He's very intimidating, and is the tallest of the bunch.

Though Spike is large and scary, he's probably the kindest of the Gothpunks. While Cyril is a bit of a dope, he still very much enjoys causing problems and pissing people off. Spike, however, mostly follows less harmful orders from Cassandra.

Spike and his boyfriend Pierre are recent additions to the gang, and only started hanging out with them senior year.

We'd prefer Spike to have a very masculine voice! We have a running joke amongst the writing team that Spike has an Australian accent, so while it's not a requirement, we MIGHT be bias towards anyone who might audition that has one.

Pierre is a newer addition to the Gothpunks. He's a very quiet and sarcastic person, speaking kind of monotone a lot of the time. Pierre's first language is French. If you audition for this role, PLEASE be capable of doing a French accent. The voice director studied French for 3 years in high school, and while they aren't perfect, they can at least pick out a decent French accent.

Pierre's voice does NOT have to be masculine. I have no preference on the pitch or gender of his voice.

The female health teacher is the main teacher seen in the beginning of the original Pico's School. She is somewhere between 35-45 years old. She comes across as sweet and nice, but knows all the student's type of bullshit and is actually quite blunt and harsh.

Her voice should sound sweet with a hint of bitchiness in it.

Mr. Flacit is the grouchy old math teacher. He's a rude, vile, and downright immoral person. He would give weapons to the students and find it amusing when they stab each other. He's eccentric and flamboyant.

Any kind of old man voice will do, get experimental and silly.

Otis is Pico's younger, fatter, more obnoxious cousin. He is 12 years old. He's Pico's first cousin on his father's side.

Otis is a well meaning, but annoying nerdy kid who always wants to be included. I would prefer an actor with a fem/child like voice take this role, because I want it to be clear Otis is young.

Damien is a lead villain in the first portion of the cartoon. Damien is a Penilian planetary scout sent to Earth with a mission. His cover is that he is Cassandra's younger cousin, though they are not really related. He's about 16 years old. 

He is FTM transgender, and I would prefer to cast a transmasc actor to play him.

Actors of all identities are welcome to audition, but as I said, trans masculine actors take priority.

Timmy is an obnoxious brat. Nobody believes him that he is a senior in high school. He was raised Catholic, and he'll let you know it for sure.

Timmy says some pretty awful shit.

Any and all actors are welcome to audition for him.

The Penilian army is lead by 2 superior Penilian men. They are unnamed, and are just referred to as "Superior".

Superior #1 is the more gruff, serious, and masculine of the 2 superiors.

Superior #2 is flamboyant and less serious. His voice can be anything, but I prefer something neutral/fem. The Penilian superiors are flaming homosexuals. And if it wasn't obvious they are inspired by The Tallest from Invader Zim.

There are a lot of random Überkid clones running around, but for the most part there will be three main Überkids. Überjon, Übersam, and Überfred. All Überkids will share a voice, since they are "perfect" genetic clones of each other.

They're kind of a mystery in terms of age, I imagine they all have the generic nerd man voice. You can just record as one speaker with the audition lines, they speak in unison on occasion but for the most part it'll be one at a time.

Leroy is the leader of a squad of robots made to look human by the Penilians. In the original Pico's School they're referred to as The Ghettobots, but that name doesn't sit right with our team, so they are being renamed to the Xenobots to reflect their alien nature.

Please, do not audition for this role if you are white. Leroy is black and we do not want white actors playing any POC characters.
