Persona 5: The Phantom X - FANDUB (Main Characters + Chapter 1)

Project Overview

Persona 5: The Phantom X is the mobile spin-off of the hit game Persona 5. Though if you're here, you likely already know that. This game had a bit of a rough start, but now that it's on the right track and gaining traction once more, I feel like this is the best time to start this up.

Persona 5: The Phantom X does not have an English dub. Which is a shame, because the story seems to have some good potential (even if the beginning was...rough). With the third chapter of the story in the middle of its release, and the summer event providing buffer time, I think the time is right to start the Persona 5: The Phantom X FANDUB; a fanmade English dubbing of the main and even side stories of this spinoff game. These will be posted to YouTube as videos purely for entertainment purposes (I am not skilled enough to mod this into the game).

This casting call will be casting for the main 5 party members, the original Phantom Thieves and anyone prominent in Chapter 1. If there's someone you want to voice who isn't listed, fret not. I'll be back to cast more people as they are needed.

For the OG Phantom Thieves (aside from Joker), most of them are regulated just to side stories, meaning they aren't required for us to progress to Chapter 2. Anyone who isn't cast in this casting call will reappear again in future ones. If you are cast as one of the OG Phantom Thieves, you will also be used as extra voices in the main story.

Please record your lines in the AABBCC format, and you're allowed to audition for multiple characters, though you'll only be casted for one. Also, as this is an M rated game, I'll only be casting people who are 17+ in age. Please leave your Discord username when you submit, as that is how we'll be communicating.

If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message, my DMs are wide open. I hope to hear all of your auditions, and look forward to working with all of you!

Note 1: We will NOT be fully replicating the sounds of the Japanese voices. If the character appeared in base Persona 5 (Joker, Igor, etc) then I'd like people who sound as close to them as possible (we are looking for accuracy, not perfection. If it's close, then that's perfect). If no English voice exists, then the ball is in your park!

Note 2: Phantom Idols who are not members of the OG Phantom Thieves will not be casted yet, unless they appear in Chapter 1. If we tackle their side stories or synergies, we'll come back to them. (So I'm currently looking for someone to voice Tomoko, but not, say, Yukimi or Shiratori).

Note 3: Minor thing but because the OG Phantom Thieves are relegated to side stories, most of the lines you'll audition with come from the OG game(s). This should help you further be able to match their original voices to the best of your ability.

    Hello and good evening everyone.

    Thank you all for auditioning. You all sounded great! You'll see that a lot of characters got cast but some did not. I will be opening up a second casting call tomorrow in order to hopefully cast the characters still missing from our ranks, plus one extra that I may-or-may-not have forgotten.

    If you weren't cast, do not hold it against me. I liked most, if not all of the submissions I heard and picking people was difficult. If you weren't cast as a character I'm still looking for, I encourage you to audition again! Sometimes it just takes another stab to see things in a whole other light.

    For those of you still interested in the project, stick around! It won't be right away, but it also won't be long before I open up auditions again looking for more side story and synergy-focused characters, as well as eventually casting for major characters in Chapter 2.

  • The Deadline Approaches

    Good evening everybody!

    Wow, time flew by. Feels like I just posted this thing. As the deadline approaches, I'll start to message people who I'd wish to cast starting as early as tonight. If you left your discord, I'll message you there. If not, expect a message through CCC. Though just a few notes I'd like to state:

    If I liked your voice but not for the character you auditioned for, I may still contact you, either as an extra or to let you know "hey, you'd fit this other side character, why not audition for them later on?"
    If you DON'T get casted, it's nothing against you and I'd still encourage you to try again at a different stage of the process for other characters!

    Lastly, if a character isn't casted for, I will be bringing them back at a later date. I'd encourage you to retry for these characters. Some of them have candidates already, but I'd like to push some back just to hear a broader amount of potential voices.

    Though this doesn't mean I'm stopping submissions early. If a character is listed as open, please feel free to still audition! The deadline is still a week and a half away after all.

    Hey everyone! After finally getting time to properly sit down and listen to all of your submissions, I'm excited! So far, everyone has sounded great so far and I can't wait for even more people to audition. Though I will admit, it makes my job harder in the end lmao.

    This update is both a congratulations and also a bit of a statement. I don't know how common this is on here but some of you have really great voices that I want to hear elsewhere so I may DM you with the request that you audition for a character you haven't yet.

    Note: This DOES NOT guarantee you the role I ask you to audition for, and it DOES NOT prevent you from being cast in your initial auditioned role.
