Persona 5 Abridged - Goro Akechi Recast
Project Overview
Hello! We are Botch Brigade, a YouTube channel dedicated to anime abridged parodies. Our ongoing Persona 5 Abridged, based on Persona 5: The Animation, is in need of a voice actor to take on the role of Goro Akechi, who becomes an important character in our upcoming episodes.
WHAT TO KNOW...
Persona 5 Abridged, as well as any content on the Botch Brigade YouTube channel, is non-profit. As such, this project is entirely for fun and no roles are paid. Our primary method of communication is our community Discord, a link to which is provided in our YouTube description. There we will be posting community/project updates, links to current scripts, as well as other important information. Episodes tend to have a 4 to 5 month production schedule, not including shorts/filler episodes, so expect to be recording for episodes every 3 to 4 months. While we have set deadlines for line submissions, we understand that other life priorities may take hold first and foremost and we are more than willing to accommodate for that.
BEFORE YOU AUDITION...
- Make sure you have a decent quality mic. We admittedly aren't too picky when it comes to this, but we will be less likely to consider you if your audition has a lot of background noise, static or peaking.
- Please provide at least 3 takes of each line.
- Understand what you're getting into, as our abridged parody contains coarse language and adult humor.
- Be prepared. We are 9 episodes in, around halfway through the actual story, and fully intend on completing it. This role is not a one-and-done situation.
- Be respectful. You will be interacting with a team of editors, voice actors and writers. Be courteous and show respect to your fellow cast and crew. Should you deviate, we will promptly remove you from the role.
- Have fun! This is a abridged series full of goofy lines and characterization. Have fun with your role and make it your own, as you will be playing quite possibly the goofiest character.

P5A's interpretation of Goro Akechi is that of an extremely scatterbrained ace detective, both utterly fascinated by mundane occurrences and completely accepting of the most unordinary. He is particularly obsessed with protagonist Ren Amamiya, for reasons even Akechi doesn't quite understand. There's a particular air of whimsy and intrigue to just about everything Akechi says, from his genuine detective intuition to his all too common non sequiturs and utter nonsense.
Akechi's voice tends to stay within the medium range, though will also fluctuate a between higher or lower pitch during events late into the anime. For the most part, Akechi's tone of voice maintains an air of extremely casual whimsy and curiosity; largely maintaining the same "matter of fact" tone for just about everything he says. His voice does not necessarily have to be an impression of the official material, and we are open to interpretations.

I must also thank you for the cup of “joe” in our previous encounter. I expected a large man by the name of Joe, but instead was given caffeine. A happy accident, if you ask me. I couldn’t sleep for a month. I thought I was going to die.(slight arrogance)
