“Orangeville” is the title of my capstone animated short. We follow our protagonist, Ruth, as she realizes something isn’t right in her town after her older brother disappears and the people begin to act strangely, as if under a trance. That leads us to Mr. Pierce, the odd but charismatic pastor in town. After investigating him, Ruth discovers he’s been covering up a nefarious scheme. When Mr. Pierce finds out his cover has been blown, he reveals himself to Ruth as a demon who had been hiding all along in human skin. In production under Crescent Cat Studios!
Hello, everyone! So sorry for the late update and I appreciate your patience. Our team has selected an actor for Pastor Pierce outside of the auditions on this site. I really appreciate all of your auditions, and it wasn't an easy choice to make. Ruth is a 15 year old girl from a small town. Because our story takes place in the Midwest, that will be shown a little bit through her accent. Ruth is a bit introverted and sarcastic, and that’s also reflected in her often monotone inflection. Ruth also has a bit of a deeper voice for a 15 year old girl.
The days are getting so short, Shadow. It’s colder than any fall that I can remember, and the people are worse.

Mr. Pierce is a man roughly 35 years of age for a majority of the short. His true form is that of a demon from hell, here on earth disguised as a priest to consume the souls of the churchgoers. There is a certain point where his voice goes from man to twisted demon. His human voice is charismatic, sing-songy, and has a certain level of extroversion and machismo with an occasional menacing edge. His demon voice is mocking, deep, and distorted, eager and hungry to consume the soul of the protagonist, Ruth.
