Operia is a Minecraft series unlike any other, that I have been working and preparing on for the past few years. The series will introduce unique creatures, distinct factions and lore that are not of Minecraft origin. As most of the work such as assets and rigs are done, Operia will begin its production stage with the help of voice actors voicing out the characters provided. In all honesty, because I currently lack the skill and patience to make this series in a non-Minecraft state, the Minecraft style is the only base or template I can work easily with. However I would like to make this series as original and high quality as possible so that not only I would express my ideas in the form of Minecraft, but to also share the creativeness that I have implemented for Operia. Unfortunately you won't be paid. These are volunteer roles if you are willing to help out with the series. I can pretty much work on any of the heavy lifting tasks myself, but because I can only work on the harder stuff for so long, I would require assistance to speed up production.
Set in the Frontier System and Planet Operia itself, a World of Opportunity, the advanced nation known as the Talons had established colonies to increase their territory as well as to meet any natives or foreigners on the planet. Seeing their intent for being better than the Talons, some of the nation grew angry and had broken away from the Talons. These rebels are called the Dominion, whose main objective is to seize control Operia and march their way to total domination and conquest. The Talons in turn declared war against the Dominion to stop them from dominating the entire planet, as both factions enter their War of the Frontier.
THINGS TO KNOW (VOICE ACTORS):
Although about half of the characters are filled in before this Casting Call Club page was ever established, there is still the other half of the characters awaiting for auditions.
In association with DexlovesMimikyu and Wandering Ace, two of my co-directors, they have also provided some of their characters for voice actors to audition as well.
1. You must have a decently working microphone to voice act auditions that can retain some good quality. No muffled voices, background sounds, earrape, etc. However if you're at least good with the audition that calls for it, despite having your voice slightly muffled, you may be accepted. In case you don't have a good working microphone, one easy way to have a clear audition would be using an app on your mobile device called "Voice Memos". You can send your audition from there.
2. Try to put in as more effort and emotion into the character you're auditioning as you can. One thing I will not be hearing is if your voice is monotone, or sounding emotionless. Also try to speak clearly and not too fast in an orderly manner so that the audience can understand what the character is trying to say.
3. Because Operia is a series, the requirement for you is to have the dedication and patience to stick with the character you're voice acting.
4. For voice acting other creatures, this can be a challenge, since this requires you to have a voice as inhuman as possible, depending on the creature. Similar to 2, you must put in as much effort as possible. Alternatively, you may use a software (a voice changer, Adobe audition, Audacity, etc) to change and alter your voice for the chosen creature you're auditioning. Voice acting robots can partly but also fall into this category.
