Welcome to Headspace!
OMORI is a game released in 2020 by Indie developer Omocat. It centers on a teenage boy, Sunny, along with his alter ego, the titular character OMORI. I would like to produce a high quality fandub of the complete game to publish onto YouTube, TikTok, and to potentially mod into the game.
While the primary goal at the moment is to dub the game, which will take quite a bit of time, I would like to extend into dubbing the Manga and popular mods in the future.

While everyone is welcome to audition, please make note of the following.
Please have decent microphone quality. Peaking or excessive background noise won’t be accepted.
Any bigotry, racism, homophobia, or other discrimination won’t be tolerated, as it’s very important to me that this cast is a welcoming place! :)
Double casting is a friend! If you are auditioning for Basil, Kel, or Aubrey, I’d recommend also auditioning for their counterpart if you feel confident in your abilities. Not doing so will not ruin your chances of getting the role, but voice matching can be tough sometimes.
For auditons, AABBCC format is preferred.
If you are auditioning for a listed character and would still like to partake in the project even if you do not get casted in your character of choice, please audition as an NPC as well. It will not impact your chances of getting casted in a lead role, for better or worse.

Hello everybody! The auditions are all still looking great.
I just wanted to put out this update to make sure everyone knows that they are more than welcome to private message me on here if they need any direction for a character, or if they'd like critiques for an audition that they've already put in. (You are welcome to resubmit after, if you'd like!)
While I am not going to reject any auditions until the deadline has been met, I have been going in and shortlisting auditions that I think fit the characters well and have good audio quality.
As a general note, I'd suggest making sure that your audio quality is good prior to submitting your audition. Peaking and having too much gain are big issues that I've noticed, which can be altered through Audacity, as well as most other audio programs.

Hello everybody! I've been listening to the auditions as they've come in, and I'm very impressed with the talent that you all have. While we still have time until auditions close, I just want to remind everyone that there are only so many lead roles, and only one person will be casted as any given role.
With that being said, there is a lot of talent in this group and I'd like to make sure that anyone who would like a part in this project has the opportunity to. For that reason, I'd heavily encourage anyone who would like to take part in this dub even if they are not casted in their role of choice to audition for NPC. Within this casting, NPC is a general grouping for all characters not included on here.

Ah, the narrator! An omnipresent figure throughout the game. For this dub, the narrator can be of any gender, although an adult voice is preferred. I’m looking for a narrator who can fluctuate emotions well depending on the scene and situation, but aside from that, I’d like to see your own individual take on the game’s narrator! If you need an idea for direction, think Little Big Planet narrator.

In the game itself, Sunny has very few lines. Sunny is the quiet and reserved 16 year old protagonist. Sunny’s voice actor will be in charge of Sunny’s dialogue, along with any internal thoughts that Sunny has. As a character, Sunny is relatively emotionless.
Note: While the primary focus of the dub is to, well, dub the game, I do hope to expand into dubbing mods along with the Manga eventually, and it is possible that Sunny will have more dialogue in those.

Real World Basil is a major character in OMORI. He’s shy and insecure, and this should be reflected in his voice. In the Real World, Basil is approximately 16 years old. I’m looking for a voice actor with a softer voice that is not too deep, and someone that is able to portray intense emotions when need be.
“ W...Wait... P-Please, SUNNY... Don't leave me... Not again...” [Desperate, pleading]

In Headspace, Basil is a 12 year old boy. He is a major character in OMORI. Much like his Real World counterpart, he is shy, albeit less insecure. He should have a soft voice that sounds young. Headspace Basil’s voice actor will also preform the voiceover for STRANGER. It’s important that the voice actor for Headspace Basil is able to portray more intense emotions, as Headspace Basil experiences a whole lot of them!
Note: If you are auditioning for Headspace Basil and you have the ability to adapt your voice, I’d highly recommend also auditioning for Real World Basil.

Mari is the (deceased) older sister of Sunny and haunts the narrative throughout the game. Mari is a kind and gentle 15 year old. She is a major character in OMORI. Her age in Headspace is the same as her Real World age. For her voice, I am looking for someone who can show her gentleness and sisterly personality while still being youthful. With that being said, I’d love to see individual interpretations on this role!

Real World Aubrey is a 16 year old with a cold and harsh demeanor, and is regarded as a bully, especially towards Basil. She is a major character in OMORI. I’m looking for a voice actor that can portray that intimidating persona, while also showing the hurt that she’s experienced. While I’d like for her voice to be feminine, please try to avoid going too high-pitched.
Note: If you are auditioning for Real World Aubrey and you have the ability to adapt your voice, I’d highly recommend also auditioning for Headspace Aubrey.

Headspace Aubrey is a cheerful and happy 12 year old. She is a major character in OMORI. She serves as a contrast to her real world counterpart. I’m looking for a voice actor who is able to portray her childlike sense of wonder along with her sense of determination.
Note: If you are auditioning for Headspace Aubrey and you have the ability to adapt your voice, I’d highly recommend also auditioning for Real World Aubrey.

Kel is a happy and sociable 16 year old with an affinity for athletics. He is a major character in OMORI. In the Real World, he prides himself on doing the right thing, which can lead to him being seen as simple-minded at times by others. I’m looking for a voice actor that can be energetic and confident while having a strong voice.
Note: If you are auditioning for Real World Kel and you have the ability to adapt your voice, I’d highly recommend also auditioning for Headspace Kel.

Headspace Kel is an energetic and rowdy 12 year old. He is a major character in OMORI. Often getting into quarrels with Aubrey, Kel can be a little bit bratty at times, and he has a strong sense of right and wrong. I’m looking for someone with a strong voice who would be able to portray Kel’s persistence and spirit.
Note: If you are auditioning for Headspace Kel and you have the ability to adapt your voice, I’d highly recommend also auditioning for Real World Kel.

Hero is a mild peacemaker with a charismatic charm to him. He is a major character in OMORI. In Headspace, he is 15, and in the Real World, he is 19. However, no vocal fluctuations are necessary between the two. For this role, I am looking for someone with a calm voice, nothing over exaggerated, but someone that still captures his charisma.

Sweetheart is a major antagonist in OMORI. She appears exclusively in headspace, and is a very flamboyant narcissist. (Think Queen of Hearts!) For this role, I’m looking for someone able to portray her intensity and dramatic nature. She has a big personality, and I’d love to see individual takes on the role!

Captain Spaceboy is an adventurous young man with several different personas that he takes on over the course of the game, such as Space Husband, Space Ex-Boyfriend, and so on. He is a major antagonist in Headspace, particularly during the Prologue section of the game. For this role, I’m looking for someone with a ‘Superhero’ sort of vibe.

“ Hmph... So that's how it's going to be. If you still insist on stopping me... I'm afraid we'll just have to settle this the hard way.” [Ready to fight, irritated]

Kim is a supporting antagonist in OMORI. She is a member of the Hooligans and close friends with Aubrey. She is rambunctious and troublemaking, but has a caring side when it comes down to it.
“ SHOOT!! IT'S THAT NERD, KEL!! C'mon, VANCE! We gotta go!” [Off guard, Worried]
“ She's not answering her door... or her back door... or the rocks we've been throwing at her window.” [Worried, Anxious]
“ I KNOW THIS IS YOUR FAULT SOMEHOW! Tell me what you did to her!” [Angry, Accusatory]
Vance is another Hooligan in Faraway Town, and the older brother to Kim. He has a gruff demeanor, but doesn’t hold grudges. (Think Buford from Phineas and Ferb!) He is a minor antagonist throughout the game, mainly appearing along with the other Hooligans.
“ She's a lot of talk, but she's got a big heart. And me? I got some big muscles.” [Casual]

The Maverick is a supporting antagonist in OMORI. He has an exaggerated personality, acting as a dramatic show off. (Think Matthew Patel from Scott Pilgrim.)
“ WATCH THIS, LADIES! I'll wipe the floor with this loser!” [Proud, Cocky]
“ What happened in there!? Your face is all red... Do you need me to teach someone a lesson!?” [Angry, Concerned]
“ Is it possible that I could be good at baking?” [Baffled]
Angel is a Hooligan and supporting antagonist in OMORI. He studies under The Maverick, and he’s very energetic. He frequently picks fights with others.

“ ONWARD, ANGEL! YOU CAN DO THIS!!” [Determined]
Charlene is a member of the Hooligans and minor antagonist in OMORI. Despite her appearance, she is quite quiet and reserved. She is a pretty ambiguous character, so feel free to put your own twist on her!

Humphrey is a supporting character in Dream World. He is a whale, and I'm looking for a cartoonish-type male voice to play him. He's friendly towards the children in Headspace and he has an insatiable hunger for clams, which leads to him eventually eating the children. Feel free to make use of your own creative interpretation of Humphrey in your audition, creativity is encouraged!

Mr Jawsum is an antagonist in Dream World. He's a major antagonist that runs the Last Resort. He's very successful, and though he berates his employees, he's shown to be a rather benevolent boss. I'd like for his voice actor to take his strength and confidence and really show it in their portrayal of him.
"Just get out of here! You've all been nothing but a pain in my tail anyway!" (Annoyed)
"Take this, HERO... This is for everything you've done for me." (Grateful)
"IT'S TIME FOR A VACATION, BABY!!" (Excited)
Boss is the first boss in OMORI, and he's a recurring antagonist in Dream World. He's rather loud and is seen as a neighborhood bully, and rather rough. Despite this, he's rather caring and cares about the wellbeing of those around him.
"How dare you not invite me to hide-and-seek!" (Offended)
"REMATCH!! I WANT A REMATCH!!" (Angry)
"Good luck out there! Go get 'em!" (Encouraging)
Mewo is Sunny’s cat. As the name implies, he does Meow. He has a minor role, but does have a little bit of spoken dialogue.

Polly is Basil’s kind caretaker, and a supporting character in OMORI. I’m looking for someone with a motherly demeanor who is able to portray her caring and gentle personality.

“I'm happy to know that BASIL has friends that care so much about him.” [Glad]
“Sigh... Maybe he just needs some time to himself... I'm really sorry to bother you.” [Disappointed]
The Space Pirates are NPCs in OMORI! They are pretty ambiguous, so feel free to show me your own interpretation of them! There are 8 of them, so feel free to make your audition individual and unique.

“It's so nice to have the CAPTAIN back! Yeah, buddy!” [Happy]

Rosa is a sprout mole, the self-proclaimed #1 Sweetheart fan, and a recurring character throughout the game. I’m looking for an actor that can capture her annoying nature, preferably with a voice on the higher end.
“Bah! It's you four again! Haven't you ruined my life enough times!?“ [Angry]
“ROSA! The #1 SWEETHEART fan in the world!” [Proud]
“Hmph. That sounds like your problem, not mine.” [Stuck up]
The Shopkeep is a minor character in OMORI. He’s somewhat nerdy and 22-30 years old. I’m looking for someone who can capture this geeky essence while still being engaging.

Basil’s Grandma is a very minir character in Omori. I’m looking for someone who can do an old woman voice.

All-American Guy is a recurring NPC throughout the game. For him, try to sound like a stereotypical suburban father, the type to enjoy a nice hamburger and a game of football.

All-American Mom is a recurring NPC in OMORI, and the wife of All-American Guy. She is a very kind, friendly, and warm housewife. For her character, try to emulate the same energy as a Suburban mother.
"My, KEL, you've grown so tall! You're basically a head taller than me!" (Impressed)
"Oh no, I forgot about my pie!" (Worried)
"La-di-dee! La-di-da! La-di-dee! La-di-da!" (Singing)
Abbi is a very minor villain and NPC on the OMORI route of the game. She seems timid and frightened at times, and for that reason, I'd prefer for her voice to be smaller and softer. At this time, please do not worry about distorting the audio.
"Please... please... please... Forgive me... My best friend..." (Scared, desperate)
"The truth... I am used to know it... But... I am... cannot remember..." (Sad)
"Thank you... DREAMER..." (Grateful)
Adrian is an Apple Vendor who is very passionate about selling apples. For his voice, try to have competitive energy and a confident demeanor.
"APPLE JUICE supports hydration! It contains beneficial plant compounds and may support heart health... It may also protect your brain as you age!" (Excited)
"Egad! Is that a... ORANGE HEADBAND... you are wearing? I refuse to serve you any APPLE JUICE until you take that off!" (Disgusted)
"Hmm... It looks like you don't have enough for a delightful cup of APPLE JUICE..." (Disappointed)
Bangs is a minor recurring Dream World NPC. He is sort of apathetic and bored, with a moody teenager demeanor.
"... Next time, I guess." (Apathetic)
"Having fun takes too much effort, so watching my friends have fun is enough for me."
"The boss tried to put me to use... but when he realized I couldn't do anything, he told me to be a bed tester... Mmm... Yup... This bed sure feels good..."
Basket Case is an NPC in OMORI. He is seen to be quite anxious because of frequent unfortunate encounters that he has with other characters. While the role is quite ambiguous and open to interpretation, please try to show this anxiousness within his voice.
"Today, I accidentally bumped into one of the staff... so she called me a nincompoop and headbutted me across the room." (Sad)
"Sigh... I must have hurt her foot really bad..." (Upset)
"You truly saved my life! Take this gift. I owe it to you!" (Grateful)
Biscuit is the twin brother of Doughie. He's relatively ambiguous as a character, and doesn't say much. He's less outspoken than his sister.
"Ohoo!" (Excited)
"Meet us below, we will have an escape prepared for you."
"Ohoo?" (Questioning)
Doughie is Biscuit's twin sister and a bread maker in the Dream World. She is talkative, albeit calm and rather nonchalant.
"If we were to leave our bread-making stations... what would we do with ourselves? This is the only life we know..." (Conflicted)
"Are you a ghost?" (Nonchalant, curious)
"Come, BISCUIT! We must destroy them before they destroy us first!" (Ready for battle)
The Snake is a background NPC in OMORI. Try to go for a serpentine vocal quality!

Blue-Haired Girl is an NPC in OMORI. She's a student at Kel's school. She's friendly and very enthusiastic about swimming!

This is for the remaining minor NPCs in the game that were not available in auditions. If you have a particular preference, feel free to tell me that in the description of your audition. Keep in mind that it is very possible for you to be put into multiple NPC roles, and NPC roles may require more lines than expected, so these roles still stand as commitments.
