Norman & Pals

Norman & Pals

Project Overview

"Norman & Pals" is a short film based around self-identity and acceptance. The main character, Norman, is seemingly accepted by almost everyone around him but he still feels out of place no matter who he surrounds himself with. With that being said he has found two companions to keep him company on his journey, although they have work to do on themselves as well.

Norman is male but appears gender-neutral. He's the self-appointed leader but he doesn't think things through and comes across as awkward from time to time.

  • Addressing the audience as if welcoming a new neighbor: "Hey there, my name is Norman. Most people know that though"

  • On the brink of a breakdown: "It's one thing to know you're different kat, it's  another thing to not know why"

  • Generally reflective / lost tone" Why can everyone else figure out who I am"

Kat is essentially a catalyst for all of Norman's crazy ideas, she has the rough exterior of a street kid with a soft spot for norman in particular.

  • Simply pitching an idea to the group to kill time: "So I was thinking we could break into the old warehouse and have some fun"

  • Bitter undertone trying to hold back emotion: "I don't need you Norman, I was just trying to be nice"

  • Talking aloud to herself: " I was never going to be happy, not here anyways"

Paid: Flat Rate 5 USD
Role assigned to: Elliot Jean

Max is nonvocal majority of the time tending to rely on general sounds of disapproval for communication, although when he does speak he's monotonous.

  • *deep sigh of exhaustion*

  • "I don't know about this"

  • *Low growl, not too animalistic*
