No Spring Chickens (Original TV show) Pilot
Project Overview
Hello! My name is Millicent Basler and I am looking for some voice actors for a new original animated series I am starting called "No Spring Chickens". It will be uploaded on to the YouTube channel Hooting Pictures, where I have another show I am working on called The McNormals, which has four (soon to be five) episodes released.
A Little Bit About the Show:
No Spring Chickens follows a group of senior women, Prue, Ida Mae and Lucia, who are all grandmothers and enjoy hanging out together and getting into shenanigans. It will be a fun, slice-of-life style show!
A Little Bit About Me and the Project:
I am Millicent Basler of Hooting Pictures. I will be directing, writing and animating this series, but it will be published on the YouTube account, Hooting Pictures, which is produced by Sally Basler.
What you will need:
- A Discord account. Please leave it in your audition description.
- A good microphone and a quiet place with no background noise to record in.

- A cooperative attitude and dedication to the project.
- Must be able to send audio files as MP3.

Prue is a practical, no nonsense woman. She may sound and act tough sometimes, but she is really very sweet and caring towards her friends and family. I imagine her having a Boston or New York accent, but since these characters are so new I am open to different interpretations!

Ida, you do realize it's only November, right?
Yeah, my cat doesn't usually eat this early, but she doesn't understand daylight's savings yet.
Alright, Lucia get in the shopping cart! (joking around)
Ida Mae is a sarcastic lady who is not afraid to speak her mind. She is very fun loving and loves to go out and have fun with her friends. She is married to her husband Barnaby, who is very quiet and hardly speaks in contrast to her more extroverted personality. I could imagine her with a softer southern accent but since these characters are so new I am open to different interpretations!

(when told it's too early for Christmas) I had no idea you were such a scrooge, Prue!
Oh my goodness, Barnaby said the funniest thing yesterday! I swear, someetimes he just cracks me up. Isn't that right, Barnie Boo?
Oh, don't you worry, Prue, this won't take long at all. I've just gotta pick up a few things for the grandkids.
Lucia is a very sweet, old lady who likes to look on the bright side. She tends to be a bit more on the quiet side and likes to observe rather than be right in the middle of the action. She is Spanish, so I do imagine her with a Spanish accent but since these characters are so new I am open to different interpretations! You do not need to be fluent in Spanish to audition, but simple pronunciation would be great!

What a pretty sweater, Ida Mae!
This is my grandson, Luis. He's such a nice boy, always willing to lend his abuela a helping hand.
What are your plans for the holiday season, Prue?
