Nathariel's Guide for Newly-Deads - Pilot (18+)

Nathariel's Guide for Newly-Deads - Pilot (18+)

Project Overview

Hey there! This is a casting call for a co-writer for a one-shot podcast episode.

While I'm not able to offer much in the line of money, as this is a passion project, I want to be fair to you, so please do let me know if there's anything else I can do to repay you for your time and effort. :) At the very least I will leave a positive recommendation on your CCC page!

I'm hoping to enter the episode into the MyRodeCast competition (see https://www.myrodecast.com/ for more details on this!)
(Should the podcast win any prize within the competition, I will provide a bonus payment as a reward. the amount is negotiable.)

My basic pitch is - a day in the life of an Admissions office worker just beyond the gates of Hell.

The podcast would be in the form of an audio-drama, and would definitely lean heavily on the ideals and nuances of the popular podcast Welcome To Night Vale, though will not reference the events/story/characters in any way.

Discord is a must! It will really help us communicate quickly whilst still working remotely.
I will also be using Asana to help schedule and timeline the different steps of the project.

Again due to my severely limited budget, I will be mostly sourcing background music from the website Epidemic Sound.

I'll be looking over all your pieces again in the coming days, and I'll have made a decision as soon as I can! Working retail in a pandemic is pretty exhausting so it might take a few days, bare with me!! And thank you all so much for showing so much enthusiasm for this little idea of mine! 😊

I'm looking for someone who can help me write a natural tongue-in-cheek dialogue, either a monologue or a conversation between Nathariel and whichever soul is passing through her office that day.

Nathariel is a simple office worker, one of hundreds, if not thousands, in employment in the Admissions department of Hell. She doesn't mind her job, the pay is reasonable enough, but she does get a little sick of the same old questions from the living, which can lead to some snarky or snappy answers.

I have two ideas for how the first episode could go, but all of this is open for debate.

The episode could start with Nathariel on her own, either going through her morning office routine, or writing a diary or something equally mundane, then a sinner would enter and go through the admissions process.

Or

The episode would serve as a sort of pre-recorded beginners guide to being dead.

Should this pilot episode be successful, I may consider making this a fortnightly podcast and seeing where it goes. The script has to be between 1-2 mins long.

I am a college student, so I'm not in a position to offer a larger payment at the moment, so I understand entirely if you shy away from this project. If the episode places anywhere within the contest I will 100% find a way to repay you for your time and efforts. At the very least I will leave a good recommendation on your CCC page :)

Because this pilot will be entered into a competition, as stated above, I will give a bonus payment should any prize be received. the amount of this bonus is negotiable.

To apply, please attach up to two examples of your previous work that you think fits the tone.

Payment will be sent Via Paypal upon completion of the project (approx. June 28, though possibly earlier than this.)
