Morsin's Shadow Animatic Pilot VA Casting
Project Overview
VA casting for the first characters that are to appear in my indie animatic pilot (rest of the characters will appear later on)
Morsin's Shadow takes place inside a country-sized city gated off by a huge living forest, named Morsin. Where we see the forest attempting to keep out any malicious forces that may threaten those living inside its boundaries. Trapping creatures it deems ill-tent within its thicket. Resulting in the city of Morsin being considered one of the few safe places left, with just outside the forest walls being an arctic wasteland filled with cryptids and other mysterious forces. However, due to personal hardships among city residents, this perceived safety seems to be slipping, and new threats begin to emerge.
The animatic pilot will lay down the ground work for future plot points and character relationships; I really wanna get to the rest of the cast, so fingers crossed this goes well!
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE!
Storyboards/script are complete, however, animatic won't be started till VA/audio has been completed.
Unpaid till Ad. Rev comes through - aka once the project is finished and uploaded on YT. (I'll have to figure out how to divided that up later).
Will shoutout any socials at the end of animatic if wanted.
Will need clear audio with no background noise.
Potential Online call with cast is required (to be determined). Small roles like Tax or Auto-TOM won't need to do online calls.

Role: LEAD
Main character of the show, Umbra is first seen in a flashback as a child where she meets Noira and the other maids; we then jump to the current day where she is now an adult and the rest of the show continues.
Umbra is a tomboy with major anxiety and some anger issues though a very motherly spirit deep down. She tries extremely hard to suppress these supposedly negative emotions; but finds it backfires more often then not, so to cope she often masks this with a certain cockiness, but its all for show. (Perhaps similar to a certain Rainbow Pegasus voice ques?)

[questioning] [huh] no way that’s Liz already? She never gets here this early.
Definitely not Liz. [sighs] Likely some sorta door-to-door sales-creep trying to sell me garbage.
[Annoyed] For the love of Morsin!
Role: Lead
Liz is Umbra's best friend, landlord and when the rest of the cast comes into play (likely around episode 3-4) She becomes their anchor; being seen as the most reliable and intelligent of the group both emotionally and mentality. Though sometimes its easy to forget as she is more then happy to tease her friends and be playfully cheerful.

Hey, Umby, I was just about to head out.
Geez. What’s got your tail in a twist?
Could I potentially ask who sent you here and why? Umbra isn’t exactly the ideal babysitter.
Role: Lead
Koito is a half breed cat girl with one ear, no tail and only one good eye. She struggles with this, but stays strong regardless of her turmoil.
She is soft spoken, shy, but kind hearted if not a bit stand-offish when it comes to meeting new people. Though overtime she finds it easier to warm up to others when she gets comfortable.
VA point of reference; If I had to pick a character I'd imagine have a similar voice I'd say a less shy Fluttershy if that makes sense.

(nonchalant) Nothing Ma’am. My names Koito Degaré, I was sent here by Miss Lyra of Morsin Manor.
(desperate, scared) Help! Please, I don’t want to go back!
Y-yeah. T-That was amazing. (koito’s in awe)
Role: Small Speaking Roll
Chiya is a maid working at The Morsin Manor and Koito's birth mother; she is very sweet and motherly, yet sickly and weak due to her ever decreasing health.
VA Reference: meek but motherly, soft spoken.

[Half hearted sigh] Could you be any more vague Ms. Lyra?
Umbra huh? It’s a pleasure to meet you, My name is Chiya.
[surprised] This kid’s scary.
Role: Minor Speaking Role
Another maid at Morsin Manor; Lyra is much more blunt, with a harsh, monotone voice. She's not mean per say, but her tone, dialect and expressions often make her appear to come off as rude at times. Though she does care even if she doesn't express it outwardly.
Voice Reference: Slightly deeper, monotone. Mud Pie (I swear not all my voice refs. will be MLP).

Hmmm. She reeks of the forest, but If it let Her go, then she must be harmless.
I’ll go inform the Mistress of the situation. You keep an eye on them.
ROLE: Small Speaking Role
(the photo in the profile is of her timeskip design seen in the rest of the show, the flashback design reference is still WIP).
Noira is the Head of The Morsin Manor's Daughter and in this episode we meet her in a flashback where she is much younger and is meeting the protagonist, Umbra, for the first time.
She is very energetic and chipper, exactly what you'd expect from a kid her age. Though she's also very quick to try an impress others, which gives her a bit of a compulsive nature.
A great contrast to who she becomes in the rest of the series.

Role: Minor Speaking Role
A mysterious voice that barely makes it's presence known via a sickly sinister narration over the cold open; as a tall lanky figure seems to be stalking people from within the Morsin Forest.
Voice Reference: A deep sinister voice with a bit of playfulness to it (think S2 Discord, GOD DAMNIT I DID IT AGAIN!)
The character has a more masculine appearance yet is a genderless character and therefore anyone is open to try an voice him! Have fun!
