Manga Fan-Dub | Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Rebellion [Vol. 1, Chp. 1]
Project Overview
Mobile Suit Gundam is a long-running Mecha anime in Japan. Beginning in 1979, the franchise has had a rich 40-year history that has showcased the tragedy of war, how one's actions can change the world around them, and of course; cool giant robot fights. The series this project intends to cover is the 2013 Manga remake of 1991's Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, an early OVA in the series that helped bridge the gap between the Original Mobile Suit Gundam (1979) and Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam (1985).
It is the year 0083 of the Universal Century, almost a century since humanity left the nest of Earth and spread to the stars using space colonies. It has been three years after the brutal clash between the Earth Federation Forces and the space colonists that made up the Principality of Zeon. This horrible conflict lead to the loss of millions of lives, and became known as the One Year War.
Since their swift victory, the Federation has spent the last three years assimilating Zeonic technology and scientist while stamping out any resistance from guerrillas on Earth. In efforts to prevent anymore strife in the future, two new Gundam prototypes are created, one equipped with a nuclear weapon that breaks a treaty the Earth signed with the colonies.
In space, a fleet of vengeful Zeon soldiers lead by Rear Admiral Aigulle Delaz lay in wait, with eyes on these new prototypes.
And thus, the rebellion begins.

The manga Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Rebellion is a complete remake of the original OVA, adding more characters, characterization, elements and new Mobile Suits. It is drawn by Masato Natsumoto and written by the original writer of the OVA; Takashi Imanishi. This project is merely meant to cover the first volume, however depending on how things go, I may be open to trying the whole thing.
While knowing the source material isn't required, it definitely helps. Once auditions close, I will be PMing those chosen for their roles. If there's any questions about anything, please PM me.
Good Luck to All!

No doubt this project is taking longer than expected. The process of cleaning up pages and then editing them has become quite the burden when placed alongside other projects I am forced to work on. Thus the requirement of an artist is now posted. Thank you for your intetrest!

Submissions for Chapter one are now Closed!
Submissions for the first chapter have finally come to a close, and I have some great news for everyone that auditioned. I have a role in mind for each and everyone of you! I'm working to PM and get in contact with everyone, but if you see this update and haven't gotten a message of your own yet, please don't hesitate to take initiative! I'm really looking forward to working with everyone!
As the artist you have the important job of drawing over speech bubbles and matching the panel beneath. This could include drawing anatomy, mecha parts or a simple background that fits with the panel.
Say something you think would fit
Kou Uraki is the protagonist of the manga. He is a very passionate and forthright young man who is always has Mobile Suits and technology on his mind. His direct nature, nerdiness and upbeat nature tend to make him a bit dense, but when the time calls for it Kou can be rather reliable.
Looking for a light voice with a hint of nativity with a geeky charm.
[Excited about explaining his findings] If we compare this to the actual data, we'll be able to prove the influence Mobile Suits have on the pilot's abilities!
[Grossed out and slightly defeated] He Slapped them on even when I told him not to...
[A battle cry as he rushes at his opponent, make it as long as you'd like] GATO!!!
Anavel Gato, also known as the Nightmare of Solomon is Zeonic Ace pilot and one of the main antagonists of 0083. A stern man who values honour above all else; Anavel Gato is a soldier through and through. He is dutiful and tacturn, and only takes actions that will benefit him or his people.
Looking for a clear and stern voice, deep but not too rough.
[Contempt, denouncing his enemies] They're ordinary soldiers, drowning in their transient luxury.
Corrupted and Lacking Conviction.
I will not be done in by the likes of them!
[Angry, annoyed at his enemy's naivety] I'm the enemy, you idiot!
[Battlecry before comitting the actions that made him the Nightmare of Solomon] LET'S DO THIS!!
Cima Grahau, also known as the Mayfly of Space is one of the primary antagonists of 0083. Cima is a leader of a band of space pirates orbiting the Earth after being shunned from Zeon due to her actions during the one year war. Cima is a femme fatale, wily and hard to get a read on. She has a smug aura about her and finds the prospect of battle amusing. She is cunning, sassy and a quick to anger.
Looking for a lower tone and a slightly rough cadence.
[Eager to start a fight] Finally, Prey! Show me what you're made of!
[Raising her group's morale] We're a rogue unit with no home after all! We can't pay our way unless we act like pirates!
Nina Purpleton is an engineer from Anaheim Electronics and the main designer of the two Gundam Prototypes. Nina is an idealistic and generally positive young woman. She is very passionate about Mobile Suits and gets very headstrong when people try to test her in that aspect. She is rather confident in herself and takes immense pride in her work as well, but tends to be rather oblivious to the bigger picture.
Looking for a higher tone, with a clear and cheery cadence.
[gushing about the prototypes] I want to see the two of them soaring through outer space! That would be a truly wondrous and amazing experience!
[Stumbling across someone unfamiliar] Um.. Who are you? Do you need something?
[Unease] I'm overwhelmed by what's before me right now...
Eiphar Synapse is a Captain in the Earth Federation Forces and the main captain of the Albion. Synapse is a veteran soldier with a mind honed for tactics. Serving as a captain he often has to play the voice of reason for his crew while serving those above him.
Looking for a lower tone, a firm yet gentle cadence.
[Complimenting the Albion] She's an impressive ship sir! We're still mastering her controls during our journey but that's what I feel.
Kairus is a member of the Delaz fleet, and a veteran of the One Year War.
Feel free to do what you'd like with the voice.
[Alerting his superior] Commander Gato!
[Worried for his superior's safety] Yes Sir! ... But What about you?
Kelley is a Mobile Armor pilot for Zeon. He is a man ravaged by war, and one that thinks there's nothing for him in life but the battlefield. He is a tough man that doesn't back down in the face of challenges.
Looking for a lower tone with a rough and gravely delivery.
[In immense pain, but holding it together] I was...Unable to... Protect Him...
The professor of the Nijmegen Federation Forces academy. Feel free to play this role however you'd like.
Quiet Down Now!
Yes, What is it Petty Officer Uraki?
We'll end class on the history of modern warfare here.
The head of Anaheim Electronics, main supplier of Mobile Suits. Feel free to play this role however you'd like.
[Sealing a deal] Yes, I see we are on the same page.. Are we not?
John Kowen is an admiral in the Earth Federation Forces and the one who initially commissioned for the two Gundam prototypes to be created. John is stern yet fair, a leader that is sympathetic to the plights and lives of those under him.
Feel free to play this role however you'd like.
[Begrudgingly] I'll take the request of additional funding into consideration.
Paula is an engineer working at Anaheim Electronics and a good friend of Nina's. She is rather snarky and tends to speak her mind.
Approach this role however you'd like!
[Mild annoyance] The Higher Ups Just don't get it!
Voices that will be used for characters with a single line or faceless grunts, the backbone to any army. Feel free to voice these any way you'd like!
[Seeing a bright flash] There's something over there!
[In terror or awe of an ace] It's only one Mobile Suit!
[Give your best death scream]
