Misha Goes Home | Casting Call for First Episode

Misha Goes Home | Casting Call for First Episode

Project Overview

A Navy Veteran, Ezra, feels incredibly out of place among society and decides to take a road trip across the US. Feeling as though he is losing himself more and more each day, he finds a dog tied to a chain-link fence at a gas station, with only a cardboard sign around her neck: “Free Dog. Misha.”. Not able to bear leaving Misha there to die, he takes her with him. But while Misha’s family certainly did not want her, she desperately wants to find them, and so she guides Ezra through various towns, meeting various people, all in hope of finding her family.

This will be a relatively short passion project I hope to turn into a podcast.

Ezra was honorably discharged after receiving an injury to his left leg, leaving him with a permanent limp and occasional stumble when it gives out on him. However, he is bittered, feeling as though he failed his squadron, and ultimately, his friends, by abandoning them. The war is over, but he hates his lifestyle, and decides to take a road trip away, hoping to find meaning to his life.

Age: 34

Voice: Gruff & agitated, but also soft when he talks to Misha

Ezra's role will be a re-occuring one, over the multiple episodes (Currently at least 5, possibly more) VA must agree to voice Ezra for all the episodes.

Voice description:
  • male young adult
  • all accents
  • Hey, hey girl. Easy does it. Who left you here, huh? Let’s see... Misha? (small laugh) Yeah, that’s your name huh? You want to come with me? Alright, come on, let’s go. Context: Talking to Misha

  • I am! I am screwed up! There isn’t a thing about me worth giving a damn for. And I am too tired to feel hurt, or angry, or, to feel at all! I am sick of this. I’m sick of being tired, I’m sick of myself.

  • (Voice breaking) Good girl, Misha. Go home. You’re a good girl, it’s alright.

Old man Ed runs the diner that Ezra first stops at after finding Misha. He swears he's a pirate, but really, he lost his eye in a bad kitchen accident. Still, it's best to humor him... after all, you wouldn't want to cross a pirate with an eye patch– you never know what else they're willing to lose.

Despite his exterior appearances and his faux tough guy attitude, he is a gentle old man, who passes on words of wisdom to Ezra. And he cooks a mean eggs benedict.

Old Man Ed is a one off Main Character for this first episode.

Voice description:

  • Aye, matey! What can I get for ye’? (With a stereotypical pirate voice)

  • Good lass, there ya go. You must be hungry. (Normal voice, to Misha)

  • Aye, son. This road ain’t an easy one for hoeing. If it were it would be wide and paved like the one everyone takes. But that road doesn’t take them anywhere, nay, it just keeps going. The one you’re walking leads you somewhere, son. You just have to keep a’walkin it. (Normal voice)
