What happens... when the fandom strikes back?
A small team of independent writers and fans of the show Miraculous Ladybug are looking to create a fan revise of the show. It’s non-profit, and merely for fun. We’re looking for anyone who’s interested in having fun and doing what they love, so don’t be shy to step up to the plate and show us what you’re made of. Below you should find the roles we are looking for, so pick what you’re most passionate about or comfortable with and let loose.

Due to unforeseen budgeting issues, we’re looking for some comic artists to help bring the story to life! We understand that there are many aspects to such a craft, so feel free to tell us your particular area of expertise, such as lettering, panelling etc.
Since comics can be a time consuming venture, it would also help if you could let us know if you’d be available when needed.
Responsibilities for the project are your bog standard comic work. You’ll be adapting the scripts provided by the writers into a comic, as well as working with our character designers to accurately capture the designs of the cast.
To apply, just simply submit a bit of your work in your audition, along with a little blurb telling us about yourself! And as already stated, we’d really appreciate it if you could also tell us a bit about what aspect of comic art you are particularly skilled in, such as wording, colouring etc.

We're looking for talented musicians to help put together a new, original soundtrack for ReMiraculous! Basic knowledge of music theory is preferable for this position- as one of your duties will be arranging and scoring the music for the soundtrack- and the ability to play an instrument is required. And of course recording equipment is also preferred if available. But as with the rest of the roles, try not to stress yourself out too much. Just try your best and have fun!

For this character, optimism and encouragement are two major players in your tone. Emphasis on the encouraging part. This one's a little tricky, since she's two characters in one. For Marinette, the tone should be upbeat. Cheery. Bubbly. Optimistic. But also quiet when the situation calls for it. As Ladybug, we should be able to hear that confidence and firmness in your voice.
Don't worry about getting the voice perfect. This isn't a competition about who can do the best Cristina Vee impression. Just try your best!
(You've messed up big time. You shouldn't have spoken to Chloe that way- you're supposed to be a hero and encourage people, not belittle them for things they didn't mean to do. Your one job was to be a kind, encouraging hero; yet you failed. Now you have to give a genuine apology to Chloe. [Please try to sound kind, yet not too defeated])
"Chloe, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it, okay?"
(You run your hands through your hair, sighing.)
"It was out of line to say that to you. And I really do apologise."
(Okay, Marinette down. time to slip on the red and black mask. As Ladybug, you're trying to encourage your new partner-in-crime fighting while being new at this yourself. New responsibilities are coming your way as you try to be hopeful and optimistic.)
(Hesitantly) "We can do this, okay? I'm new at this too, but... I think we can do it. No..."
(Your voice hardens.)
(Firmly now) "We CAN do it. You've got this, come on!"

Chat got your tongue? Get ready to grace the vocal catwalk folks!
Now, don't worry. This isn't a contest about who does the best impression of Bryce Papenbrook. We're not looking for his twin. All we ask for is for you to have fun and try your best with this audition.
This one is a tad tricky, since you'll be auditioning for a two-in-one character deal. For Adrien, we're looking for a quiet and polite masculine tone of voice, which can become sharp and defensive where it applies. Chat Noir is basically the opposite. For him, we're looking for a strong, witty, charismatic tone of voice. We should be able to hear the confidence OOZING from your voice as Chat.

(You're chasing after a dark blue haired girl who's just ran off in tears after Chloe tore a book she owned in half. For reasons you don't know. You've managed to catch up to the girl and helped her up off the ground after she tripped. But safe to say, she didn't appreciate the gesture. She's just informed you that allegedly Chloe's been doing stuff like this to her for years. Your tone should be trying to remain composed, but also standoffish and defensive.)
"What? No. You're wrong. I've known Chloe for years. She would NEVER do anything like that. You're making this up!"
"..."
(Hesitantly) "Y-You... have to be making this all up... You just HAVE to be."
(All righty, Chat Noir up next. You've just collided [literally] with your new partner, who's apologising frantically as she untangles you from some wire that's attached to her weapon. Your tone here should be very witty and bubbly.)
"Ah, don't worry about it. These things happen, right? It IS only our first day after all."
"You must be the partner I was told about. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. Name's... Hm..."
(You pause.)
"Chat Noir. Yeah, name's Chat Noir."
(Improv time! Use this line to come up with something you think Adrien or Chat Noir would say. Be creative and have fun!)

Now, don't worry. We aren't looking for a word-by-word impersonation of Tikki's canon VA. Just give the audition your best shot, and have fun!
We are looking for a sweet, slightly childish voice that is capable of being firm. Tikki's job is to be a confidant and somewhat of a mentor to Marinette, so to play this role you need to be able to alter your tone of voice based on the topic of discussion. While a higher pitch IS preferable, please don't strain yourself to go too high. Just settle on a pitch you're comfortable with.

(You've noticed that Marinette is taking advantage of Luka's- the waiter at the restaurant her and Alya visited- obvious interest in her. Well, kind of. You've just overheard her conversation with Alya over the phone, and are appalled by her blatant dismissal of Luka's (painfully obvious) interest in her. Disappointed and annoyed at her denial, you decide to confront her. Your tone here should be strong, and firm.)
"Marinette! How could you be so dismissive of Luka? The poor guy is clearly head over heels for you. How would you feel if Adrien talked about you like this to Nino or Chloe? Unless..."
(You pause.)
(Sternly) "Are you doing what I think you are?"
(Cheerily) "Cookies!"
(You nosedive onto the plate of goodies Marinette's father had left out.)
(Sweetly, enthusiastically) "Sorry for eating all your sweets Marinette, Your family's cooking is honestly the best I've ever had!"
(Improv time! This is your chance to showcase your creativity. Come up with something that you think Tikki would say. Don't worry or stress over it: be creative and just have fun with it!)
Have you got what it takes to become the embodiment of Destruction?
We're looking for a harsh, gravelly tone of voice with Plagg. For reference, think of if you had a cough stuck in the back of your throat but you need to keep talking. In terms of character, we're looking for sarcasm, playfulness and dismissal. Like you don't give a damn, but you still insist on taking the mick out of the person you're talking to.
Don't worry about getting a spot on impersonation. Just try your best and have fun!

(Adrien is curled into himself on his bed. He is ugly sobbing, his throat choking on itself while tears stream down his face. He holds his palm over his mouth, a weak attempt to muffle his pained cries. You feel your heart ache for the boy you've come to love as your own. You fly over to your Chosen, nuzzling into his tear-stained cheek. You try your best to sound comforting.)
(Softly) "Hey kid, this won't go on for much longer. You're almost an adult, you just have 1, maybe 2 more years of suffering with your old man - then you're free."
(This only makes Adrien cry harder. He sobs that he doesn't want to be free. He wants to be needed. You sigh.)
"You are needed. Your friends need you, Paris needs you, Ladybug needs you,"
(You pause.)
"I need you."
(Adrien crashes into the room with a heavy thud, as the black leather fades and you're sent screaming and flying onto the bed.)
(You bolt upright, fur ruffled as you snap your head around to glare at Adrien.)
"What is WRONG with you?!"
Adrien looks down. 'Sorry, got overexcited.' he mutters. Sorry your ass!)
"You think?! I have NEVER been so offended in my LIFE! I've been hurt! Wounded! By my own HOLDER! This is ANIMAL ABUSE!"
('Will you stop yelling? My father's going to think I'm murdering someone!' Adrien hisses. As if!)
"No! I've been betrayed!"
('Look, just chill out. Can I get you something to get you to stop screaming your lungs out?' Adrien asks.)
(A sly smirk breaks out on your fur clad face.)
(Devilishly) "Well, there is ONE thing..."
(Improv time! Use this bit to put in something you think Plagg would say. Cut loose, be creative and have fun with this part!)

No one likes a snob, but the Miraculous Fandom says otherwise. For this role, we're looking for a very confident, harsh and arrogant tone of voice. We should hear your inner snob coming through. Chloe is a take no nonsense, harsh and bold character. We should hear this in your voice. But, the Ice Queen also has a soft side. When needed, we should hear that tone soften, sweeten and become more caring. Hey, even Daddy's girls have their soft spots.
And don't panic about getting her voice spot on. Just do what feels right for the role, try your best and have fun!
(Your lifelong childhood best friend has finally showed up after years of not seeing him. Overjoyed (and admittedly a little bit confused), you manage to tear him away from the ever amassing horde of fans crowding around the poor soul and get him somewhere safe so that you can talk in private.)
"So, Gabriel doesn't know you're here, does he?" (You ask, fixing Adrien with a softly inquisitive look.)
("Well...." Adrien trails off, and that's all the response you need.)
(Furious, rising in pitch) "I cannot believe that man! Why have children if you refuse to give them their basic necessities, like, say, fucking social interaction!"
(You soften your tone as you look at your childhood friend.)
"Adrien, I love you so, so much. You're like a brother to me - one of these days I'm going to whisk you away to Le Grand Paris and you'll ever have to see that poor excuse for a father again."
(You straighten your back, and you say with a newfound resolve,..)
"I swear it."
(You've just overheard Marinette talking about you to that know-it-all Alya Cesaire. To say you're annoyed wouldn't even begin to cover it. Your tone is condescending, snarky and snappy.)
"Well at least I know I'm relevant enough to stay on your minds even when I don't grace you imbeciles with my presence. Tell me Dupain-Cheng, how was your summer? Work on any inventive designs? Help out poor Mommy and Daddy at the bakery? Serve customers?"
(Improv time! This one should be fun. For this bit, just improv something you feel Chloe would say. Seeing how iconic she is, this shouldn't be a problem. Just cut loose, kick back and have fun with this part!)
Are you ready for the scoop of the century? Think you have what it takes to step into the shoes of this intrepid journalist?
For this role, we're looking for a firm, strong, sassy voice. We should hear the confidence loud and clear in your tone. But, as any watcher of the show will tell you, Alya does have her soft side. So, when the situation calls for it, a softer, gentler tone should be available as well. Now, don't panic. We're not looking for Alya's VA's doppelganger. As always, just have fun, try your best and do what feels comfortable to you. Don't strain yourself. Good luck!

And don't even try to pull that dumbass Daddy card on me. Because honestly? I couldn't care less about who made you. So you either back off and leave us alone, or else I'll wipe that stupid smirk right off your smug face."
(An akuma's attack just gone down. While escaping, you weren't able to find Marinette, who just seemed to magically disappear. Now, with the akuma gone and taken care of, she's just shown up again. Your tone here should be concerned, and showing that gentler side to her character.)
"Em! Oh thank God you're okay! I thought you got attacked or something! Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
(Improv time! Use this slot to come up with some dialogue that you think suits Alya. Use this blank space to show off your creativity, and show us what you're made of!)
Ready to come out if your shells?
When we here at ReMiraculous think "Nino Lahiffe", we think of one word: CHILL. We're looking for a masculine, laid back demeanour for Nino. This man is nearly unshakeable. But, well... he can be a bit of a scaredy-cat sometimes. So, when it counts, we should also be able to have a jumpy, scared tone of voice. And obviously a firm, strong, even tone for when the situation gets serious. And don't worry about getting his voice spot on: just try your best and have fun!

(Well, today could've gone better. You just fought an akuma, but it didn't exactly go well. Disappointed, you decided to go grab some fresh air. Chat Noir tries to comfort you, but you're still pretty down in the dumps. Your tone here should be solemn, and defeated.)
“Look, Chat... I’m not like you, okay? And I’m not like the others. All I’m good for is taking hits. Anyone can do that. I just feel like... like a letdown, y’know? I mean, Bee can paralyse people. You can destroy stuff. Rena can make illusions. And I just... take hits. I’m the meat shield. Nothing really special about that. Ugh, I dunno. I just feel... like a failure.”
(Improv time! Here you get to flex your creative muscles. You can do a few lines for Nino, or Carapace. Doesn't matter. Just have fun with this part!)

What hero is complete without a villain? Yes, this role is for the man himself: Gabriel Agreste/Hawk Moth. He should sound every bit the stern businessman he is. Calm. Controlled. A deep, masculine voice. But he has a softer side. Well, okay, he uses that to manipulate his akumas, but whatever. Same difference, who cares? We're looking for MAXIMUM spine chills here. So go for it!
Also, don't worry about copying Keith's voice to a tee. Just try your best and have fun!

(You just caught your son trying to sneak out. AGAIN. Well, Natalie caught him, but same difference. And now he has the nerve to kick up a fuss about it. Your tone here should be controlled, but also angry. After all, you have better things to do than argue with a 17 year old boy.)
"Adrien... [sigh] How many times do I have to tell you this? I do not have time for your teenage tantrums!"
(Well, isn't this lucky? You've managed to corner your arch enemy, Ladybug. And would you look at that? None of her friends in sight! We should be able to hear the amusement and mockery in your voice, keeping that same eerie level of control Gabe always manages to have.)
"Poor little bug... you're an awful long way from your friends, aren't you?"
(You're cornered. Trapped. The heroes are confronting you about your heinous crimes, and they aren't happy. Why don't they understand? Your tone should be firm, but slightly desperate.)
"You don't understand. I'm doing this for a reason. I NEED to do this. I've come too far to turn back now. I can't- I can't... afford to lose... not again."

For Juleka (best girl don't @ me), we're looking for a quiet, meek tone of voice. Now, I should clear something up here: we should be able to understand what you're saying. Yes, we know that Juleka's mumbling is kind of her thing in canon, but it's awful if you can't even understand a word she's saying. So, quiet, but we should still be able to hear and understand you.
Now, we aren't asking you to copy Erika's voice acting word for word. Just do what feels most comfortable for you, relax, and have fun!

(Well... that was horrible. You managed to miss the school photo, which is bad in of itself. But no one even noticed you were gone. Except Rose. We should be able to hear the anger- but also pain- in your voice for this bit.)
“Just quit it. It’s pointless. No matter what I do, I’m always going to be ignored. I don’t know why I agreed to this. It was stupid. I was stupid.”
(Rose tries to stop you from leaving, begging you to stay.)
“Forget it, Rose! Just- forget it. Forget me. Everyone else already has.”
(You've just found out that your brother, Luka, has a crush on Marinette. A girl in your class. You're not CLOSE close, but you still call her your friend. Still, you never would've guessed Luka would get the hots for her of all people. So, we're aiming for a surprised tone here.)
“So... you have a thing for Marinette, huh? I’m gonna be honest here: I never took her as your type.”
(Luka shoots you a look.)
“Hey, hey, calm down. I’m not judging you. It’s just a little... weird, that’s all. You’ve never crushed on anyone before. Hopefully your motorcycle doesn’t scare her off.”
(You let yourself laugh a bit at your joke.)

Alright, someone boot up the robot.
Ok, ok, we kid. For Natalie, we're looking for a bit more emotion. We have a very strict No Robots policy. Natalie is a very disciplined woman. Straightforward. Matter of fact. Doesn't mess around. But she has a heart under the ice. So, we're looking for someone who can play both the strong, level-headed businesswoman but also be kind and soft. As usual, don't stress yourself. Relax, and have fun!
(NOTE: Young Adult in this case refers to her being in her thirties.)

(...This is awkward. So, you went behind your employer's back to enrol his son- Adrien- into the local high school. One problem though: your boss hates lies. And he hates the idea of his son going to school. So, you're trying to convince him to allow it, while trying to mask your fear. People like him are like Velociraptors when it comes to this kind of thing...)
“Sir, I know you have your rules about Adrien not attending school, and I understand why, but... well, I think it would be best if he did go to school. He’s 17, and he needs the socialising skills. It means so much to him. Why else do you think he kept running away?”
(You're extremely frustrated. It's like deja vu. The minute you finish one thing, Gabriel gives you 10 more things to do. Your tone is mocking, and annoyed.)
“Natalie, Organize the files. Natalie you didn’t organize it right. Natalie where’s Adrien. Natalie make sure the decorations are luna month purple, Natalie, you didn’t buy the right purple I said Luna Moth purple. Natalie where's Adrien, how did you lose him again? I swear one of these days I’m going to quit my job-“

I feel VERY tempted to make a Gretchen Weiners reference here... but that wouldn't be very fetch.
So, you'll be glad to know that Sabrina has a spine now. We're looking for someone who can be sweet, and timid, but can be an absolute SAVAGE as well. Some sour to counter the sweet. Basically Sabrina in canon, but not a masochist and who has had her spine surgically implemented back into her body.
As usual, don't worry about stressing your voice to match her word for word. Just try your best!

(Well, Chloe's just asked you to do her homework. AGAIN, for the 500th time. Normally you would just roll your eyes and get on with it- as if she gives you the choice to do otherwise- but this was meant to be a GROUP assignment. Aka not dumping all the work on one person while the other does bull. So, you're annoyed, and frustrated.)
(Muttering to yourself) "Sabrina do this, Sabrina do that. Sabrina, Sabrina, Sabrina. Ugh, God, and people say I'M the clingy one. At least I don't sound like a broken record..."
(That. DOES. IT. You've put up with a LOT of bull from Chloe over the years. But her getting you akumatised, and having the BALLS to try and blame YOU?! There's no way you're letting this slide. Time to let her HAVE IT!)
“I am SICK and TIRED of you acting like you can do whatever you want to me and just expecting me to forgive you! You make me do everything for you! You make me come up with BS excuses for YOUR terrible actions! Hell, I’m the reason you’re not flunking out of Physics!”

Yep, we're looking for a VA for Francois-DuPont's resident jock! Specifically, we're looking for confidence galore. Teasing, charismatic, the kind of guy who says things without thinking of the consequences... You know the type. As usual, don't worry about being a perfect copy of the canon VA. Just try your best, and have fun with it!

(Today has been the worst day of your life. First you get beaten up, then you get dragged into the Principal's office, and now you've been suspended from the swim and track team! And Max is breathing down your neck about it too! Your tone should be dismissive, and defensive.)
"It didn't mean anything! I was just being an ass and messing around with that dumb brick Ivan! I wasn't actually going to act on anything."
(You're making fun of one of your classmates- Alix- following one of your jokes. Some people just don't have a sense of humour. So, we're looking for a teasing, if not slightly accusatory, voice.)
“Ah, don’t get your hood in a twist, Little Red. He’ll be fine. Why are you jumping down my throat, anyways? I was just messing with him. Why don’t you just run along? I’m sure your Grandma’s worried you’ve been eaten by a wolf or something.”

We're turning our attention to the brainiac of the main class now. We're looking for someone who is very straightforward. A masculine, matter-of-fact voice of reason. But he can let his pride get the better of him sometimes, and isn't a stranger to sarcasm. As per ReMiraculous tradition, don't worry about getting his voice perfect. Just have fun, and try your best!

(Unbelievable... You agreed to meet Kim- one of your closest friends- at the stadium to give him moral support for his usual track team training. Only to find out that he's been suspended from it for two months following inappropriate behaviour towards a female student. And what's worse, Kim is just brushing it off like it's nothing. We're looking for a disappointed, but concerned voice here.)
"Speaking of which... don't you think you took your quote-unquote "joke" too far?"
(Kim makes a off0handed joke about 'dark humour', although he may as well be giving you the proverbial middle finger. Your tone becomes more stern, steeling over.)
"Please do not insult my intelligence, Kim. And for the record, what you just classed as 'dark humour' is what society calls 'harassment'."
(Hm. This is unsuspected. You've been training for this video game tournament for a bit under a year now, and so far have breezed through the other students competing against you for a spot on the team. But now you're faced with a new challenger: Marinette. This should be a piece of cake. Your tone is a little bit arrogant, and matter-of-fact.)
“Very well. So, the rules of the game are simple. You choose your mech, and then-“
(Marinette interrupts you, stating off the rules of the game before ending it off with a remark that she isn't a rookie. You clear your throat, a bit surprised by how well she knows the game and its mechanics.)
“O-Oh. I see. Ok... Well, I won't have to worry about taking it easy on you then. Finally, I get to play against a REAL challenger."
(You know the rules, and so do I. Use this line as your improv card to come up with some dialogue for Max.)

For this role, we're looking for a deep, masculine voice, which can be ferocious and angry when provoked. But let's be honest: Ivan's a big ol' teddy bear, So,we're also looking for someone who can deliver that sweeter, gentler side of this giant. As per usual, don't stress yourself to sound EXACTLY like his canon VA.Just do what feels most comfortable for you, try your best and have fun! Good luck!
(You've been dragged into the Principal's office following a fight: one that you started. But you were just trying to defend one of your classmates. You're trying to defend yourself, but are clearly agitated.)

(You're giving your partner- Mylene- a pep talk before a big performance. She's clearly nervous, so you try your best to comfort and encourage her.)
“Mylene... I know you’re nervous. And that’s perfectly normal. There’s no reason to blame yourself for that. But you’re being too hard on yourself. I’ve seen you act. You’re a natural! Those people out there are going to love you. They’d be crazy not to. So, go knock them dead. I believe in you.”

Ahh, Mylene. The quiet but compassionate one. I think we all know someone like that in real life.
Sentimentality aside, we're looking for a duality here. A quiet, meek voice (I mean hey Mylene got the Mouse Miraculous for a reason in canon), but when it counts a strong and compassionate voice as well. Basically that meme "When the quiet kid snaps", but with less violence involved. And a little more of not being afraid to speak her mind when she has to.
As always, please don't shred your poor vocal cords into confetti for this role. Just do whatever you feel is most comfortable, and remember to have fun and try your best!
(Ivan- the guy you MAY or may not have had a crush on for a little while now- has just been turned back from Stoneheart. Following a [terrifying] near death experience, you've come across a song that he wrote for you. He's clearly still upset and nervous, so you take this opportunity to console him,)
"Ivan... this isn't your fault. Something happened to you - we don't know what or why, but, um....."
(You trail off, a bit nervous yourself.)
"I'd like to figure it out."
(You take his hand in yours, smiling softly at him.)
"Together."
(Well, this went wrong in just about in every single way. You're SUPPOSED to be on stage performing your role in a citywide community theatre thing set up to help encourage communication and socialising, but after seeing how skilled the other actors are... Your nerves got the better of you, and you ran away. Ivan's trying to help encourage you, but there's no point. You'll only embarrass yourself out there. Your voice here should be anxious, and somewhat defeated.)
"Please just- Stop. I can't do this. There's no way I can compare to those other actors! I'll just screw everything up, and make myself look like an idiot. I-I just- I just want to be alone for a while, okay?"
