Minerva Gems is a fan animated project based on the world of Steven Universe. The story takes place in the far future on a gem colony called Minerva. After 2 separate wars, the planet has become a wasteland of crime and chaos. The main cast is a group of bounty hunters tasked with defending a settlement from criminals, monsters, and dismantling the remnants of a once organized force that rebelled against the ruling bodies of the colony.
As for your role, we have several positions up for grabs listed below. If you are selected for a role you will be given a link to a discord server where you'll get all the info and resources you need to do your part!

we sadly are unable to pay as this is not a professional production and is just something we do in our free time. If you cannot contribute because of this we fully understand and wish you the best of luck.
Another note, just a tip to make your chances of getting the role more likely, we like our VAs to make up lines for their character to better understand and portray said character instead of just reading off a script. Improvising is always appreciated.

The young aspiring leader of Ultra team. She's more level headed than most rubies and a bit naive at the tender age of 74. However, her determination and drive shine through in her actions trying to run her rag-tag team of three before the new members were hired. She hails from a large affluent family with many siblings. One hundred and thirty four to be exact. Despite her close-knit, mob of a family, she has developed something of a sisterhood with her elder colleague, Lefty. Lefty always seems to bail Roob out of trouble, but Roob is usually the one who scolds her for being reckless.
Hey, I'm Roob, leader of Ultra team. Yeah... I'll be the first to admit, our team isn't doing so well. Given, before you guys showed up there was only 3 of us.
Ooh you like The Mooms too?? I love that show! Been watching it since I was a gemling. I will say the remake is a bit hit or miss though.
Oh yeah, my mama is a company master, I always thought she was the coolest. Going out in space and seeing all sorts of worlds, and you get to fight monsters and criminals to boot!
I guess you could say heliotrope is the Shonen protagonist of MG. Heliotrope is the muscle of the team. She's the toughest member by far but she's dumb as a stump and very socially unaware. Though she has a heart of gd and always strives to do the right thing. Her biggest strength is her unbreakable will which is a positive and a negative as this leads her to take on enemies that clearly outclass her but she just doesn't care. She's a goof through and through constantly either getting into trouble or freaking everyone out with her uncivilized wasteland bumkin lifestyle. For example when asked if hungry she'd go on the hunt for food instead of buying it like everyone else. This ineptness comes from her being raised by her big sister in the middle of the desert where they had to hunt for food and fight off predators even as gemlings. Helio was a sudden addition to the team after she randomly stumbled into them. Despite this all isn't as what it seems as she has a mysterious tattoo on the back of her neck and her constantly talking about her sister who seeming abandoned her in the desert while they were traveling.
Oh hey, is this the place with the drafting center? Been walking for weeks lookin' for the dang place. Also have you seen my sis? She's big, buff, red, can't miss her.
Did I ever tell you guys about the time big sis got trampled by a mama corrupted? It was hilarious! Wish ya'll could've seen it! But we weren't doing anything bad I swear! We just wanted to pet her babies!

The second goof ball of the team and is somehow even more of a handful than Helio. Lefty is the explosives expert of the team who just can't get enough of things that go boom! For an aquamarine, she’s oddly rough and tumble and forgets she has wings on a regular basis. Peppy and upbeat, seemingly nothing brings her mood down as long as she can light it up!
Oooh new team members!! I'll break out the fireworks! (threatening tone) the big ones..!
Oh don't worry, my explosive are perfectly safe! I'm trained after all..! I mean... Not formally but still trained!!

The local gem-minervan hybrid mailman that is smitten with Roob. A deceptively androgynous young man with a good heart, a great listener, but doesn't talk much and tends to crack under pressure. He decides to join the main group on a whim when making the acquaintance of a quartz named Helio jogs a distant memory in his amnesiac mind. He decides to be bounty team’s support, intelligence and chef as he lives a pacifistic lifestyle despite being half citrine.

The assistant overseer of the arakai settlement. She acts as the manager for the main cast since no one was dedicated to the role on their team. She is blunt and straight to the point and adopts an apathetic tone in much of her daily interactions, though she has been known to show a rare bought of emotion when she's found satisfaction in work completed or just right frustrated. She's a gifted machinist. As such, she's always drafting new blueprints of robonoid to serve the settlement, including some for more novel, self-serving purposes. She's a little embarrassed(only a little, she means it-) of her short stature and so has manufactured a decked out 12-foot tall enhancer to give herself a more imposing presence befitting an assistant overseer. Often times when she meets others for the first time, she is misidentified and they are taken aback as she resembles nothing akin to any beryl. Let alone a Fluidic-Gold Gem upon first glance. A last passing detail is a vocal quirk in which she draws out certain words while she speaks.

One of the first threats the main cast faces. Conch pearl is deranged, unpredictable, and sadistic in her actions. She's extremely skilled with blades of all kinds and the pleasure she gets from using one to cut down enemies is something that borders on euphoric. She always speaks with a quiet yet gleeful and playful tone. However when no one is looking she has outbursts of joy and laughs uncontrollably. Despite all this she is brought into the team after she develops something of a "crush" on heliotrope which is mostly based on what she considers "hidden potential" in her. Conch stalks her and learns everything about her, finding Helio's noble sense of justice amusing and her unbreakable will to be tantalizing.
You know, you can tell the quality of a blade when you can tap the side of it and it sings like a bird!

Relo is the half gem manager of Omega team, the rival team to Ultra. As the manager, he doesn't do any of the teams fighting and instead supplies them with equipment and picks the teams jobs they'd be best suited for. He's intellectual and flamboyant however usually comes off as pompous and a know it all. He actually has a good relationship with his team and considers them family. His team consists of another half gem named Daerax who is the backbone of the team who is like the big brother of the team, a garnet named Garnie, a gun nut peridot simply named dot, and a spinel who's the goofball of the team, and the newest member a mysterious lapis who barely speaks and is covered head to toe in robes.
Hah, so this is supposed to be your team? Where'd you find them? Oooh!! Lemme guess, your mama bought 'em out for you since you can't take care of your own jobs!
Combat is simply too messy for me, can't risk ruining my gorgeous hair! How would my team think of me if my hair was a wreck huh?

The accent mysterious old man of the region who knows just about everything there is to know. Despite being hundreds of years old he claims he's still very much in his prime and says he's still got a couple hundred years left in him. He wanders the area scavenging and selling goods with his traveling family made up of adopted gems and half gems. His best friend is Forteeus the vision seer who they follow around on his wacky adventures to fulfill visions he has.
*sighs* you kids have no clue what your getting yourselves into. I bet you all don't even know how to fight for real!
Oh yeah, these are all our kids, there's larmi, trapinko, peril, mossy, beni, jaspe, trogo, aaaand Di-di. At least, these are the ones we brought for this trip.

As his name implies he's a visionseer and can predict the future to a point. He has this ability due to being distantly related to a sapphire and the future sight being a lingering thing in him. However unlike a sapphire his visions never fail, however are entirely unpredictable in significance and are unavoidable. Additionally he can't decide when to have a vision, rather the visions randomly happening at any given point and the events he sees can happen decades after he had the vision. Because of this he is very loopy, superstitious, and comes off as a raving lunatic as he frantically tries to fulfill random and often trivial visions of things like buying a pair of shoes or picking flowers. Despite all this he still holds loyalties with kriff and his family and when not stressing over visions is providing for them all.
You! I recognize you! I've seen you in one of my visions! *gasps* Fate must have brought us here for that very vision!
As fate has foretold! It is destined to be! Fate cannot be avoided! The more you fight it, the harder fate fights back!

The oddball hybrid adoptive son(or daughter?) of Kriff, who has a laid back surfer dude/stoner personality. They are very unorganized and scatterbrained, yet generally very well-meaning and fun-loving. Tripinko is a very odd person for a number of reasons. They are always half-naked, typically wearing nothing save for a pair of pink briefs; they will only wear full clothing if pressured by a “no shirts no shoes no service” sign. For instance, they are intersex due to a bizarre developmental anomaly, with their right half being male and their left half being female. They personally go by male pronouns, though the pronouns that other people use to refer to Tripinko vary

The absolute coolest gem around. If there was a gem that embodied being just the best it would be her.
She's this Elvis-esk figure of the settlement that with her smooth talking and charm can win over everyone, on top of that she has a personal bard that does song routines with her just to woo over people. Outside of that she is horrid at combat and relies on her charm to get her out of trouble.

One of the local royal guard. She's absolutely manic and constantly spouts nonsense or points out odd things. She switches emotions in a dime and is generally uncomfortable to be around. However this position of royal guard doesn't come without true skill and power

The cynical and deadpan security robonoid the main cast find in the desert. As a security robonoid he's adept at most battle situations and is absolutely relentless during combat doing anything and everything he can to end the fight as quickly and efficiently as possible. He's often seen as needlessly brutal.
He has an attachment to Nermling as his adoptive "father" during when they both lived in a lab city. He has no idea how he got in the middle of the desert, nor why he left the lab city, along with not remembering that Nermling left the lab city either. He's also plagued with vague visions of horror every time he thinks about the Lab city...
VA NOTE: Wheelbot used to have a previous VA, he's no longer around so we need to find an appropriate replacement for his roll. Here's an example of how he sounded.

The peppy young waitress who works at her mom's bar. Despite how mean her mother can be, kyanite is probably the happiest gem around and loves to spread her joy. She often comes off as naive and dumb however it's just her trying to find the best in even the worst.

Minervans are the native species that live along side gems much like how humans do. Minervans are vaguely reptilian and often have accents which song most like a Scottish accent as English isn't their first language. If you wanna say gibberish in minervan than be out guest lol
