Memory Eclosion - Student Thesis Film
Project Overview
Memory Eclosion is an action urban fantasy thesis short film drawing inspiration from Digimon, Samurai Jack, and Bibliomania. The 3 minute short film covers the hunt of an information eating monster by Oleander and Alula, proxy hunters. However what was at first assumed to be a quick simple hunt quickly turns south.

Alula is one of the two protagonists of Memory Eclosion. She has been trained to hunt monsters since she was young but has only recently gotten first hand experience. She tries to be as serious as she can be when hunting but struggles to get a full handle on situations.
Her partner is Oleander, who she finds good company in spite of her lack of seriousness in lethal situations.
Alula tries to sound serious, but is really putting a front over her more anxious side. She speaks in a professional tone except when caught off guard, where in she seems more akin to the average person struggling with a new job. Alula was born in japan and moved to the states later on when she began her hunting career, she can have an American accent but preferably would have a very soft Japanese accent.

Oleander is the other protagonist of Memory Eclosion. Oleander started hunting smaller monsters as a hobby and grew into a strong indie hunter, with her partner Alula who handles much of the paperwork. Oleander finds it easy to be relaxed on the job and in the presence of monsters and is quick with her intuition. When pushed into a corner she can take a more serious tone, improvising solutions, and taking risky gambits.
She partnered with Alula for monster hunting, finding fun in her attempt at a serious tone and ease in Alula's willingness to do the boring paperwork necessary for their job.
Oleander's voice is quick, and she speaks with an almost ominously cheerful tone of someone that knows with certainty things will go their way, dropped only when she get's serious or panics. Oleander was born in japan, but moved to the west as a baby and was raised entirely in the west so has an American accent.
